We will be at FW for 9 days in Oct/Nov. Do we really need a golf cart? I understand that you would have to walk to the pool, boat dock, etc. Would you say it would make the trip that much better? This will be our 1st trip. Any info you can give would be a great help.

We didn't need one. For the same price per day for a golf cart, we rented a mid size car, which was much more useful to us. We also had bikes with us, which made getting around FW a snap.

Lots of people really enjoy them though.

You don't need one, as there plenty of buses running around. We usually rent one as our two small boys get a real kick out of running around in them. I guess the carts are just part of the FW experience for us !

We have only rented golf carts once during our trips. We always bring bikes, and usually stay in the area around the Meadows. It is about a 5 minute bike ride from the Marina or settlement Depot. The golf carts are nice, but if you are trying to cut expenses they are not necessary. If you are further away from Settlement I think it would be much more convenient to have one rather than pedaling. The busses were very good when we were there in January, but found that during peak seasons they can get quite crowded, but still run frequently.
