We are purchasing a new house and dh is going to get a PT job to supplement some of our repair costs on our new house. He was thinking of applying at LOWES (not the movie theater the hardware) Does anyone know if employees get a discount? And if so how much?

Yup. 10% plus special orders are just over cost. (Or at least were 2 years ago when I worked there.) Also, for one week in December, it was 20% off plus special employee only items. So, if they are hiring, I would hurry!

It's still the same. One of our tenants works in Lowes in the flooring section. Whenever we need to make a big purchase we do it thru him.
It was really nice getting almost $300 off our french door fridge a couple years ago when they had the 20% off!

dh works part time for the discount and extra play money, its 10%. Now he's pretty new so we dont know about these 20% off times. He's only been there for a few months. I can't wait to load up on stuff with income tax and 10% off! New windows, new doors. I hate paying full price for anything!

Well I have worked at Lowe's for 15 years and its 10 % off of stock items and 10 % over cost for special order items.

As for the the person using the discount from the employee in flooring. This discount can only be used by the employee and immediate family members living in the same household and for the primary residence only. I have seen a lot of good people loose there jobs for the same thing, dumb thing to fire good employees over... a silly 10%. When I started working for Lowe's we bought everything 10% over cost and had a credit card with "0" interest. Those were the days.

In 6 weeks I will end my long unrewarding Lowe's career and trying on a pair of Mouse ears for a living.
