Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

:thumbsup2 ::yes::

Could you do the CR first for 2 nights and then move to the BC??? I do understand about your DH not wanting to move as I prefer to stay in the same place for the whole time too (as does my DH and both of my DSs), but it's also very tempting to do a short stay elsewhere when there's a resort you really want to try ;).
I know it is :) it kills me, you know how I am heehee.

You know the solution to this dilemma is to take two separate trips, right?

I am also partial to the Beach Club and we are booked there Sep 26- Oct 3. Doing CR for the first time Jan. 7-12.

I'm sure you will have a great trip, no matter what!
This is his thought as well, do CR next time :) And since we have APs...there HAS to be a next time!

Now that's a great solution :thumbsup2.
I am in full agreement! DISers are awesome :flower3:

Decided to do online check-in for our upcoming stay (I normally prefer to check-in the old fashion way). As I went thru the process I noticed that the only option that really seemed to apply was "odd numbered room" which I checked off. At the end of the check-in, I noticed there was a message that we had streamline check-in. Will we really be able to get to the 12th floor with just our MB's upon arrival? I did online check-in at the CR last year and we had to stop at the front desk in order to get a KTTW card so we could access the CL lounge from the elevators. We were told our MB's wouldn't work until we physically checked into our room and tapped our bands, has this changed now?
Hi mommyrosa,
We just got back from a CR CL stay. We arrived kind of early and our room wasn't ready yet. We just grabbed a CM and had them take us to the 12th floor where we confirmed check-in and were given an access card, so that we could have access to the 12th floor until our rooms were ready. We took off for EPCOT and later got a text our room was ready. Once our room was ready we were then able to use our MB to access the 12th floor (we had not accessed our room yet). We did not have to use the access card at all but your mileage may vary. We had done online check-in also.

We loved the club level, to us it was worth the extra $$.

I can't figure out how to post pictures but we were in 4901 a one-bedroom suite. The room had two queens and only had a tub/shower combo. The bathroom in the suite was great with walk in shower.

Tower club definitely is worth the extra money. Intimate and quiet!

Bus does share with wl and will also stop at blizzard beach if you're going/coming home from ak.
We never waited longer than 15 mins except for a dd bus on one night but it was prime time and we chose not to squeeze in like sardines on the first bus that arrived.

I also recall reading from previous posts that the elevators in cr were a nightmare. We never had a problem and easily took elevators without any wait.

To post a photo you can just click and drag the photo from your desktop, then choose "full size." Or from an iPhone (not sure what happens with other phones), you are prompted to choose the photo(s) from your photo library.

After searching and searching I think I figured out what those end rooms look like. They have an extra window....so I knew the layout must be different. It appears that they do not have the couch. There is only the TV cabinet. This picture comes from TripAdvisor reviews and you can see out the window that it is right up next to the canal, so I am guessing this is 5150 or 5151. So....if you don't need the extra sofa bed, these rooms would still be great with the private patios....but we need 3 beds, so I will not be requesting one of them :)

Great detective work! Thank you for posting the photos and that is an odd arrangement with two large chairs at the foot of one bed and no daybed it seems.

OCI is very limited in what you can request and sometimes the choices aren't even relevant to your booking. If there is anything you wanted to request, make sure to email the IPO with any requests. We've always had a CL Runner escort us up to CL, so I can't answer your question, but I suspect you'll need to go to the front desk first.

Same here, and then the DH dashed my hopes lol
I tried, he squashed the idea like a bug...I do have a few days to change his mind but I get it, he doesn't want to move and I got the "what if you love BC so much you don't want to leave"? I confess I don't want to be the recipient of the "I told you so". BC/CL would be an awesome split :)

At least you tried. I think staying in one place longer does have its advantages, especially since you're also staying offsite.

Very helpful for the PP who asked about CL check-in.

This is what I figured I'd have to do based on previous trips but when I saw the streamlined message during the online check-in...that threw me for a loop :upsidedow. Honestly cannot wait for this trip - it just won't come fast enough :).

I know these aren't the best shots, but I realized the morning we were leaving that I didn't take any photos of the room!!! This is a 1br suite, 4901, corner with an amazing bay lake view (and that's coming from someone who lives in Hawaii!) this is of he living room with the pullout queen. The most comfortable pullout I've ever seen! (My husband has video of the room and cl which I'll try to get from him soon!)image.jpgimage.jpg
I wouldn't consider a tpv at cl since you can go to the lounge anytime and enjoy it. Essentially you get two views for a (slightly) lower price.
As I mentioned before our cr stay was amazing and I wish I was still there. The proximity and 5-10 minute walk to mk with my 2 year old was worth every penny.
We had no monorail or elevator issues as some who had stayed recently posted on.
Busses were easy but do share with wl. I also found that the gift shops were great and ended up buying everything I needed there vs world of Disney. Our time at dd was insane! The amount of people there really was wild and it felt busier than the parks.
The cr pool for our needs perfectly. My daughter even went down the slide! We rented a cabana one afternoon but found it wasn't necessary as there are tons of loungers and spaces in the shade.
A hui hou cr...can't wait to get back in 2017.
