I know that Disney Polynesian Resort is new, but have people seen RCI trades with this resort? Thank you!
How frequent are 2br DVC accommodations available through RCI? What are the points required?
I think that is due to a recent change by DVC, and also to some lack of experience, knowledge, and/or patience by some seeking DVC.Right now, there is only availability at SSR and occasionally OKW.
As noted, neither VGF or the Poly are actually listed as a member resort for RCI and will not be exchanged though they may be rented through RCI if DVD chooses. It usually takes 2-3 yrs for a new resort to be listed. After that DVC must give the home resort for anything they give before the 7 month window though they can wait and deposit later.I know that Disney Polynesian Resort is new, but have people seen RCI trades with this resort? Not very often recently though it's really hard to say since most are taken with ongoing searches for both non SSR/OKW and for larger units. I've seen less 2 BR the last year or so but I have personally had 2 BR villas within the last year (Aug 2014), two of them concurrently. How frequent are 2br DVC accommodations available through RCI? This one just popped up on eBay for a $1,795 rental.Just checked TUG Sightings and someone just matched yesterday for TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKS in late Jan 2016 for a 1 BR at BCV.
Neither the Poly villas nor VGF are even listed yet in the RCI resort code directory, so I'm pretty sure you can't trade in yet.
VGF is in the RCI directory, but no picture and no reports of matches yet.
Thanks, It's not been listed online but they've had a RCI ID since inception. It looks like they recently added it online but to Orlando, not WDW.VGF is in the RCI directory, but no picture and no reports of matches yet.
I've seen as many as 22 SSR weeks, all 1 BR in the last few days anywhere from 9 August to the first week of April. It looks like they're adding a few at a time, something they did with II as well.I was just checking availability for someone on TUG and found the following available in RCI, if anyone's interested:
A total of 14 check-in dates available, and I think a couple just popped up between my original post and my edit!
- SSR 1 BRs - Sept 12, 20, 25, and 27, 2015.
- Other SSR 1 BRs available in November, December, January, February amd early March.
I wonder how they'll handle trades when a VGF owner trades out. If the points are further than 7 month out, they're required to deposit VGF as I understand it because they'd have to deposit home resort. Historically if they couldn't, they didn't allow the trade. With the current points system things have gotten a little fuzzy and it would depend on the actual contract with RCI.Weird, I looked online earlier this week and don't remember seeing it. That's a good sign if it's actually in the directory now. That would be a pretty awesome trade if you could get it.
Someone over on TUG was speculating that the change coincided with the renewal of the DVC's contract with RCI, and that the terms of the contract might be the reason. There was also a dramatic increase (about 600 to almost 3,000) in the number of RCI resorts bookable via DVC/RCI.But, as mentioned above, in November 2014, the deposit pattern changed dramatically. Since then, there have been NO confirmed two-bedroom sightings.
