Our last visit was 10 years ago. Since this the parks have gone downhill. They are dirty. I remember seeing people cleaning the trash from the parks years ago and how clean they were. Trash stacked up in line, water bottles in the water at Its a small world, bathrooms disgusting in the parks. The Sci Fi did not clean or add toilet paper after told they were out in some stalls for over 2 HOURs. Disney needs to stop expanding and take care of their parks. Their workers need to be friendly. I remember cast members lined up at MGM just saying HI and asking where you were from. We went the first week of June before the masses arrived(our last day) Its a shame that they are into making money and not keeping their parks clean.
Also my kids love to buy the plastic bracelets for "charity" Disney pockets all of this money. Some should go to some type of charity.

To each their own. I still find Disney to be just as magical as it was when I was a child. I have yet to find all the dirtiness and such that some people have reported. I also think they have some very clean public restrooms considering how many people a day use them. The one thing I don't understand is why so many people keep going back when they find so much wrong with the place?? It's a lot of money to spend to be unhappy with your vacation.

The magic is still there for me too! :wizard:

Disney is definitly much nicer and cleaner than any other amusement park I have ever been too. But then again, My first trip was only about 2 years ago, so maybe I just don't know any better.

So many people are upset about everything they encounter lately at WDW. So, it makes me wonder why those people keep coming back??
I agree! I am always impressed at how well the entire resort is kept up. I'm assuming that the OP is not going to get a very supportive response, unless, with all of the vague complaints, maybe that's the point? :scratchin

I was just there in May, and thought they were doing an excellent job of maintaining the parks. If I ever saw a dirty bathroom someone was already cleaning it up. I don't know the figures but if does seem that there are now fewer cast members than 10 yrs ago. Disney has had to cut-back just like any other service industry. I work retail and I know that there are alot less people doing the same work as 10 yrs ago. It is also my opinion that we need to share some of the blame. When did we turn into such pigs? Why is it ok to throw trash on the ground just because someone is paid to clean the parks? Why do people throw toiletpaper on the bathroom floor and not pick it up? This is something I see all of the time at my job. And you would not beleive how many times I hear "let her pick it up. It is her job." If people cleaned up after themselves just think how much cleaner the parks would be. Off of my soap-box now. :earsgirl:

It's all about choosing your attitude. When you choose to expect the bad side of Disney, you'll find it everywhere.

I can recite examples of dirty bathrooms, toilet paper on the stall floors, dirty food court tables, peeling wallpaper in the hotel rooms, the stinky smell of the monorail, rude CMs, rude guests, etc. You'll find this anywhere you look.

But I can also recite examples where I see CMs changing the trash cans, where they're cleaning the bathrooms, where they are curteous and helpful, where they are cheerful even at 11pm and you know they're dead tired, where people have given up seats on the bus.

It's all in how you perceive things. Do you let these things bug you, let it stress you out and ruin your trip, or do you choose to focus your energies on enjoying the trip and the company you're with?

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with those aspects of the park. Ours was much different. When I took my Aunt for her first time to Disney in December 2005 she was amazed at how clean they kept it. My best friend thought the same and she hadn't been since her honeymoon 14 years ago.

vague complaints? toilet paper needed in sci fi bathroom and is dirty for 2 hours after a complaint is made.

dirty bathrooms? stool on toilets. paper all over floors.

water bottles in Its a small world at the entrance(in the water)

piles of trash, empty soda cups in line on the floor.

all of these things can be easily cleaned up. rarely saw many people cleaning.

i have been to cleaner parks also. i was very surprised this trip. our last trip to disney 10 years ago i commented on how clean the parks were. the dirty parks were mk and epcot this trip.

i don't need support. i will write disney and see if they care that their parks are dirty.

it didn't ruin my trip but disney still has gone downhill from the 10 years back that we went before. many friends from my town have also said the exact same thing. disney needs to get higher standards to keep their parks clean.

And you actually stayed in Sci fi for 2 hours timing them on how long it took them to restock the bathroom? That must have been fun.

We were just there in May and everything was great! No complaints from us especially compared to other amusement parks that we have been too.

your right here. i think more people are pigs now. i find it unbelievable people don't use the trash cans, they don't use the seat covers and urinate on the seats in the bathrooms. however they need to keep the parks clean. they need to keep toilet paper in the bathrooms and not take over 2 hours to clean or replenish in their restaurant bathrooms after told of the problem. i teach my kids to throw their trash away. i do remember after our last disney visit how the 6 flags park was so dirty in atlanta compared to disney. now disney is just as dirty as the other theme parks. there are other theme parks that are kept cleaner than disney now

Sorry but....I think you might have been looking for something to complain about! I know first hand (family member work at Disney for years as part of the night cleaning crew) that disney has very high standardsfor a clean park. Next time maybe give someone a hand and pick up the water bottle or tell a CM that the rest room was not clean. We all need to do are part to keep the "WORLD" clean! ::MinnieMo and ::MickeyMo can not do it alone~

I thought the parks were very clean and well-kept when we were there in May. The CM's were friendly and I had no compaints. Almost every restroom we used had a CM in there cleaning and/or restocking.

Guess the experience is different for everyone :confused3

I think the parks are incredibly well maintained, especially with the amount of people who thinks its actually okay to throw their water bottles into water areas and stick gum on rides, I am amazed at the cheerful attitudes CM's maintain while cleaning up after so many slobs...I did encounter a CM with a bad attitude, but one out of the hundreds I met in 7 days is not too bad, in fact amazing!

This thread really doesn't serve a trip planning purpose and only is instigating a fight. So, I think it's best if we lock it up.

The parks were sparkling clean when we were there in October. I *looked* for trash and peeling paint our first day at MK (not to ruin my trip, but out of curiosity - there had been a rash of complaints here on the boards before we left) and quickly gave up - everything was great.

I imagine during busy busy periods it is harder to keep up with guests who insist on littering but I'm sure WDW does what it can as soon as it can.
