Disney Gift Card Deals

Since I was never able to combine in the mobile app, I may be ignorant about how it all worked but I just cannot figure out why Target would want to remove that option for their guests. It's more convenient for people and requires no staff assistance. It seems like a step backwards in customer service to tell people they must come in to the store. What about people who don't live by a store? I know you can combine online by purchasing a bigger card but even that can be hard since it is predefined amounts.

My ruler and bubble mailer I ordered were just delivered. They forgot to split up the bubble mailer pack, still has the "break open for resale" strap on it. So instead of 1 mailer, I have 10 ....

My ruler just arrived.... the box is a bit bigger than a shoebox. The excess packaging makes me a little twitchy.

As far as combining GC.... just use your smaller denomination GC to purchase a larger denomination GC and have it delivered to your email. Then repeat as many times as necessary. Annoying, sure. But it saves you a trip to the store.

Reading that made me twitch too haha

But without the ability of combining odd value cards, using services like Raise and Cardpool has become a little more risky in my opinion. Everyone should be careful if you buy a discounted Target Card and don't have time to visit a Target store to combine odd value cards.

Well, just an update on my unactivated Disney Gift Card order from target.com...
After 1 hour and 12 minutes on the phone (mostly on hold), I finally have them activated! :cool1:

I went over to the Target store first and the Guest Service team member was baffled and gave me the phone number for Target.com guest service. I think this may be the first time this location's Guest Service folks couldn't help me with a tough issue. They wouldn't even touch it.

Anyway, I immediately called the number he gave me for Target.com. I chose the Gift Card option from their menu and explained what was going on to the rep who answered. She elevated the issue to someone who "could help me", but I had to wait on hold a LONG time for that person to get off the phone with another customer. Once I got on the line with him, he seemed like he knew what he was doing. Took all the numbers down and understood the situation. Then said he wasn't able to activate them and needed to go talk to someone who could. :headache: That hold took FOREVER. :faint: And, when someone finally came back, it wasn't him but instead the person he talked to (that sounded suspiciously like the first person I spoke with). She told me she couldn't help and that I needed to call Disney. Thanks to the DIS, I knew that was going to be fruitless, so I insisted this was Target's problem, not Disney's, and she was going to fix it for me since I'd been on hold for 45 minutes. She said she'd transfer me, but I couldn't make out where she was sending me. On hold again...:hourglass

When I got an answer there, it turned out to be the Corporate Gift Card line. Ironically, I'd seen that mentioned here and almost had hung up during my hold time to call them instead. Dave was able to activate 3 of my 4 cards, but had to call Disney for the 4th (which was the one I gave to the first couple team members to check, so that's probably why). It took some time, but he got them all done. Yay!

So, here's the tips:

*Don't waste an hour. Call the Corporate Gift Card department directly. I believe that number is 1-800-544-3875.

*The numbers they will need are not your card number (unless they need to call Disney), but the 10-digit number at the very bottom of your gift card. (I figured that one out - Dave was asking for the last 10 of the card number and it was giving him an error - glad I guessed he might want that other random number instead).

*Be very clear and know what you are talking about. I can't even tell you how many times I was told the wrong thing by the first team members (the order you're holding in your hands has not been delivered yet, you need to call Disney, the cards will activate within 24 hours, so-and-so can help you with this, these were not purchased from us, etc. :crazy2:)

Good luck and hope no one else has to learn this the hard way. :goodvibes

Oh wow, again, Target and their inconsistency...I'm sorry you were not able to get yours corrected in the store. My store acted like it was no big deal. Took 10 mins at the most.

Dugette, thank you for that info. Hopefully I won't need it, but hats off to you for posting that.

I'm happy to report that my 4 packages with Disney gift cards in $50s and $100s arrived all activated.

I hope everyone has the same result.

Thanks to all on this thread with the tips, it is much appreciated.

Well, it appears that Walmart .com has stopped allowing you to purchase a WM gift card with a WM gift card. I've done this in the past to hurry up and spend WM gift cards that I have bought from Raise .com.
Here's hoping that Target doesn't do the same thing!

And my Target store refused to combine them for me. Even though the transaction went through no problem, the 'store manager' called the team members on their little ear-things and told them to void the transaction ....:(

Just curious, how did the store manager find out?

Just curious, how did the store manager find out?
The 1st Team Member I talked to didn't know how to do it and had put in a call for help. Another Team Member came who knew what selections to make in their system, but then they got the call to void it. My guess is the Manager heard the 1st call and was responding to say 'don't do it.'
In the future, I'll either order gift cards online or just check myself out at the self-checkout ....

Weird. That manager must not have gotten the memo that that's what they are telling people to do. Can't wait until my cruise is paid off ($350 more) and I have the spending money I need because this whole Target situation seems unstable.

Well here is my Target Disney Gift Card story.

Purchased target gift cards for the 10% off on the 20th, ordered 3 $100 and 1 $50 Disney gift card on the 21st. Today in the mail I received 2 envelopes from Target, 1 with a packing slip for the $50 gift card but no gift card, the other envelope for the 3 $100 cards had 1 $100 Disney gift card and the packing slip. Roughly an hour, mostly on hold, with Target guest services they are sending me a Target e-gift card for the $237.50 for the missing gift cards I ordered on line. That is the amount I paid with the 5% red card discount. I've ordered several Disney gift cards from Target.com and this is the first issue I've ever had. Our trip is mid February so I still have time as these funds are for the Disney Dining Plan.

Not happy I didn't get the cards but it sounds like they are going to send the target e-card so I can purchase the gift cards again.

eBay gift cards bought via the Target website are sent via email and usually arrive within 3-4 hours. Certain times of year, there is a big spike in demand and things get slowed down to longer periods, but 90% of my orders have gone through in 4 hours or less.

The 5% discount thanks to the Red Card is, in my opinion, worth the effort, even if your first (and second and third) orders happen to get cancelled.

The bonus eBay Bucks tend to happen on Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Wednesdays, so you likely still have at least 4-5 more days to monkey around before the next one.

Thank you, PerfessorZ, appreciate you responding! Will be keeping an eye out and 'ears open', lol!

I haven't had time to check them yet but I received all 6 of my Disney GC's today. It was odd because usually they come in regular mail and today they were dropped off by UPS on my porch. Thank goodness I was home!!!!
