Continuing with Food & Wine (2014) and Dining Throughout Disney World with Figment...

Les Halles, Epcot (Breakfast)
Figment really enjoys starting his day with French pastries!

Framboise, Fraises, and Café Liégeois –Figment really liked all three of these desserts. His favorite was the café ligéois (coffee and cream mousse). The raspberry cake (framboise) and strawberry and cream tart (fraises) were also very tasty.
DSC_0009_zpsed97de35.jpg

Pommes, Duo au Chocolat, and Macaron – Figment thinks starting the day with chocolate (duo au chocolat) is always a good idea. The macaron was good, but he does like the one at Disneyland’s Jolly Holiday better (it’s shaped like a Mickey head!). The apple tart (pommes) was fruit, so it was healthy. 
DSC_0031_zpsa84818df.jpg

Café Liégeois, Napoleon, Tarte au Citron, and Framboise – Figment tried two different things this time; the napoleon and the tarte au citron (lemon tart). The lemon tart was slightly tart and very sweet. The napoleon was flakey and good.

Liberty Tree Tavern, Magic Kingdom (Lunch)
Liberty Tree Tavern is one of Figment’s favorite spots for lunch in the Magic Kingdom. The menu is a la carte and Figment usually enjoys a light entrée and the wonderful Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake for dessert. He was seated in the front room, with windows that looked out into Liberty Square. He was having a late lunch, so the Festival of Fantasy parade went by while he was eating. The windows have opaque glass, so he couldn’t see the parade, but could hear it!

Souvenir Mugs - LTT has a souvenir mug!
DSC_0393_zpsddb0bc1c.jpg

New England Clam Chowder – Figment started his meal with a bowl of clam chowder. It was creamy, with lots of clams.
DSC_0395_zpsa1c8c734.jpg

Tavern Fried Cheese - With marinara sauce. Figment likes fried cheese sticks so he thought he’d give these a try. They were okay, but nothing special.
DSC_0399_zpsd479242e.jpg

Colony Salad - Washington apples, sweet pecans and applewood smoked cheddar, dried cranberry Craisins, and grilled chicken tossed with field greens in honey shallot vinaigrette. This is one of Figment’s favorite salads. It’s nice and light, but still filling. He especially likes the pecans and Craisins.
DSC_0405_zps20571e5f.jpg

New England Pot Roast... Our Tavern Keeper's Favorite - Braised beef in a cabernet wine and mushroom sauce served with mashed potatoes and garden vegetables. Good flavored pot roast, with generous serving of roast.
DSC_0408_zps852a65d2.jpg

Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake - Vanilla cake with a gooey toffee filling, vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. This is Figment’s favorite dessert at LTT. So yummy!

Gaston’s Tavery, Magic Kingdom (Dinner)
Figment stopped by Gaston’s Tavern towards the end of MNSSHP for a quick snack.

Wormy Apple Slush and Scary Good Ghost Cupcake – Figment really liked the wormy apple slush, which was apple slush with strawberry puree and gummy worms. The Scary Good Ghost cupcake was a chocolate cupcake with a marshmallow ghost on top.

DSC_0098_zps3a53d1b8.jpg

Roasted Pork Shank - The "Shank du Jour". Figment really liked the pork shank. It’s salty, but very tasty and it’s easier to eat than the turkey leg (no tendons and it falls off the bone).
DSC_0100_zpsc87c8d90.jpg

Casey’s Corner
Figment decided to have a midnight snack at MNSSHP before heading out (it was also a good way to let the first wave of guests head to the buses).

Hot Dog Meal – A yummy hot dog with lots of toppings!

Next time...Kringla, Rose & Crown, and much more!

Love Figment reviews, now even more excited to go to F&W this year! TFS!
Thanks! F&W is my favorite time of the year to go. Figment also went to a couple of the special F&W events ("3D" Dessert Party, Party for the Sense, and Parisian Breakfast). Those reviews are in the dining report in my Signature (Figment’s Villainously Good Food & Wine Festival, 2014).

Continuing with Food & Wine (2014) and Dining Throughout Disney World with Figment...

Kringla, Epcot (Snack)
Figment decided to have a mid-afternoon snack at the Kringla. There are so many good pastries to choose from!

Iced Coffee Mocha – Figment needed a little caffeine and the iced mocha hit the spot.
DSC_0182_zpse8a841b9.jpg

Troll Horn - Cloudberry jam with whipped cream in a crispy pastry sugar-coated shell. This is one of Figment’s long-time favorite items at the Kringla. The jam and whipped cream and mildly sweet and the pastry shell is crispy. So good!
DSC_0180_zpse30430fe.jpg

School Bread - Sweet cardamom bun filled with vanilla creme custard and topped with glazed and toasted coconut. Figment likes the school bread at Kringla.
DSC_0179_zps44386253.jpg

Berry Cream Puff – Figment likes cream puffs and this one has some fresh fruit, so it must be healthy. 
DSC_0177_zps2269fcd3.jpg

Frozen Treats - Figment didn’t try either of these, but there were a few Frozen-themed treats at the Kringla.
DSC_0171_zps220f7fa3.jpg

Rose & Crown, Epcot (Dinner)
Figment didn’t have a dinner planned one evening, but decided to stop by Rose & Crown to see if they were taking walk-ups. Luckily, they were! He was seated inside the dining room, and could actually see a little of IllumiNations from his table.

Crock of Potato Leek Soup – Unfortunately, Figment can’t remember what he thought of this…so it means it was neither outstanding nor awful.
DSC_0188_zpsf3f9f643.jpg

Scotch Egg - Golden-fried hard-boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat with mustard sauce. Figment really likes the scotch egg at Rose & Crown, so he always orders it.
DSC_0199_zps1adc0678.jpg

Shepherd's Pie - Ground lamb, seasonal vegetables, English peas, mashed potatoes, and McCall's Irish cheddar. Figment liked the Cottage Pie in the past, so he thought he’d give the “new” version a try. He was a little unsure because he doesn’t always like lamb, but this pie tasted great.
DSC_0195_zps5fcf89f6.jpg

DSC_0231_zpsc9a70538.jpg

Corned Beef and Cabbage – Figment tried the corned beef and cabbage. It was very different from what he was expecting (used to), but it still tasted good. It wasn’t as salty as some corned beefs.
DSC_0200_zps626490f2.jpg

Boma, Animal Kingdom Lodge (Breakfast)
Boma is Figment’s favorite breakfast spot in Disney World. He likes the variety of items. Some are very familiar (e.g., waffles, bacon, muffins) and a few have an African twist (e.g., bobotie). Boma also has Simba and Nala waffles!

Variety of Items – A wide selection of the items available at Boma.

Yak & Yeti, Animal Kingdom (Dinner)
Figment likes to have a meal at Yak & Yeti. It’s a nice spot to rest and relax after touring Animal Kingdom. While he was eating there, he watched as some cast members from the Flights of Wonder bird show try to convince a run-away bird to come home. It was flying between the trees around the walkway. Hopefully it went home before it got dark!

Amanda Panda Sipper Cup - Figment likes to collect souvenier containers and he likes pandas, so this was a great addition to his collection.
DSC_0152_zps18e93f9a.jpg

Wonton Soup - Pork wontons, clear chicken broth and vegetables. Figment felt like having soup and this one sounded good. The wontons were okay, but the broth had really good flavor.
DSC_0159_zpsaee69621.jpg

Mandarin Chicken Salad - Chilled chicken, romaine and iceburg lettuce, Mandarin oranges, almonds, sesame seeds, rice noodles and plum dressing. Following the soup, a salad sounded really good. The salad is huge, but Figment really liked the chicken, Mandarin oranges, and rice noodles.
DSC_0171_zps0bb77af7.jpg

Tempura Shrimp - Chili plum sauce, coconut-ginger rice, and stir fried vegetables. Figment thought he’d try something new. The shrimp were nice and crispy.
DSC_0163_zps0a4dd3e6.jpg

Duck With Anandapur Glaze – Roasted half duckling, orange wasabi glaze, jasmine rice, and stir-fried vegetables. This is consistently Figment’s favorite dish at Yak & Yeti. The ducks is very flavorful and moist.

Continuing with Food & Wine (2014) and Dining Throughout Disney World with Figment...

Boardwalk Bakery, Boardwalk Inn (Snack)
The Boardwalk Bakery hadn’t re-opened when Figment was last in WDW, so he was looking forward to trying it this time. He had heard lots of good things about the Bakery and it did not disappoint!

Maine Lobster Roll - With buttered chive mayo, on a split top roll with choice of cucumber salad or chips. Figment went with the chips. The lobster roll was good; lots of big chunks of lobster and only a light coating of mayo.
DSC_0020_zps9e8c9fd0.jpg

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar Cake – Chocolate and peanut butter! Yum! Figment liked this rich dessert.
DSC_0298_zps8dd377d6.jpg

The Mara, Animal Kingdom Lodge (Snack)
Figment didn’t stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge this time, but he stopped by to pick up a favorite (zebra domes) and to try some new things.

Zebra Cupcake – A chocolate cupcake with a dollop of chocolate frosting covered by vanilla frosting, with chocolate pearls. Figment really liked the mixtures of frostings and the chocolate pearls. The cupcake itself was a pretty standard chocolate cupcake, but still moist and tasty.
DSC_0026_zps1433d60a.jpg

Zebra Domes – One of the Mara’s best known desserts. Figment really likes the mousse, covered with a slightly sticky white chocolate ganache. So sweet and so yummy!
DSC_0018_zps5974c043.jpg

Ghost – Figment really liked how this little guy looked. It was a bunch of white chocolate covered pretzels stacked to form the body. A marshmallow makes up the face and he’s sitting on a brownie square.
DSC_0015_zps86795e88.jpg

Via Napoli, Epcot (Lunch)
Via Napoli is one of Figment’s favorite lunch spots in Epcot. It’s fun to watch the wood-fired ovens and see the pizzas being made. This time he wasn’t seated where he could see the ovens, but it was still a great lunch spot.

Bread Service – Bread and olive oil are available upon request.
DSC_0080_zps57d65ad1.jpg

Calamari Fritti - Corn-crusted rings served with spicy tomato sauce. Figment really likes calamari and the ones at Via Napoli are very good. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The tomato sauce wasn’t very spicy, so Figment liked that as well.
DSC_0063_zps44c14e1b.jpg

Arancini[/IMG] - Fried risotto balls filled with mozzarella and meat ragu. Figment loves these little risotto balls. These are his favorite appetizer at Via Napoli. He could eat a dozen! 
DSC_0073_zpsf61484b1.jpg

Prosciutto e Melone - Parma ham and cantelope. Figment likes prosciutto and melons, so this is a great combination. The prosciutto is salty and the melon is sweet. Yum!
DSC_0077_zps69f3721b.jpg

Linguini alla Scoglio - Shrimp, clams, mussels, and squid tossed in marinara piccante. Lots of seafood, in a spicy sauce.
DSC_0083_zpsc23e529e.jpg

Prosciutto e Melone Signature Pie - Fontina, mozzarella, prosciutto, and cantelope. Figment really likes the thin crust pizzas at Via Napoli. Really yummy!
DSC_0089_zps18a7375a.jpg

Coppa di Brutti Ma Buoni - Amarena cherry and vanilla gelato sundae. This is one of Figment’s favorite desserts in WDW. Sweet and creamy gelato, with amarena cherries and cherry sauce.
