I didn't get much sleep, my cough was so much worse, but I woke up to a completely gorgeous morning.

Brian was very excited to go snorkeling today!

We were still a good distance from the island so we went for breakfast at Cabanas. We saw our assistant server, Hazel and got hugs and talked for a few minutes. I sadly didn't eat half of this, I was really not feeling well.

After breakfast we went back to our verandah to see Castaway Cay coming into view and my goodness was it gorgeous! I loved the giant cell tower palm tree.

Once we were off the ship we headed towards the snorkeling area on the family beach, stopping for a few pictures along the way.

I have a tiny bladder and already needed a pit stop. I really liked the way the bathrooms were decorated, but they were so dark inside the stalls and so hot.

Ready to go! A word on the flotation vest, don't even try to get into the water in the snorkeling lagoon without one. There are CMs right there at the waterline and they will kindly ask you leave the water and go get one.

I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to snorkel, even though I'm not a great swimmer I had been looking forward to snorkeling since Brian would be right there with me. I just didn't feel up to it, but maybe next time we'll do a shorter cruise where there is less chance of being sick by the time the last day rolls around! Brian really enjoyed it though and got some nice pictures.

Serenity Bay was already super crowded when we got there. We had to walk quite a way to find an empty umbrella/chairs.

I had been looking forward to relaxing in the water, but it was too high and too choppy for me, the wind was crazy on that side of the island. I brought a chair down to the shoreline and thought I might just relax with my feet in the water...no such luck, the waves kept hitting me in the face.

The waves did not bother Brian in the least, but he can also swim like a fish.

Brian swam for a little while and up on shore I was absolutely miserable. The wind was brutal, my ears were starting to hurt in addition to the cough and when he came back I asked if he was okay with eating lunch and going back to the ship, so that's what we did. We ate at the buffet there at Serenity Bay and it was really good. My only complain is that there isn't a lot of seating, so you have to be quick and it helps if you're open to sharing. I saw a couple eating alone while we were still in line and asked if we could sit with them, they said they were actually getting ready to leave so I could have the whole table, so I left some of our stuff there to hold our spot. There was a couple in front of us who were talking about finding a table, so I offered to share ours, it worked out well.

Enjoying your report! Is it a quick walk to Serenity bay from the family beach or did you take the tram? We are cruising in a couple weeks and have never been to serenity bay. I would like to take an hour to enjoy it this time around!

Great trip report and pictures. We were on this cruise so just for kicks, I was looking closely at the pictures you posted to see if I would catch one of us in the background. :lmao: And I did....my husband is in the background of one of your pictures.

Looks like you had a great cruise! We did too.

We've been home for more than 4 months now so I think it's about time to wrap this report up and put it to bed. There isn't a lot left to be said, but it would bother me to leave it unfinished.

Once we finished having lunch at Serenity Bay we gathered our stuff and waited for the tram to take us back. While waiting we ran into some of our table mates again. So funny how with so many people around we were constantly running into people we "knew". On the way back to the ship we stopped in the little shops to look around and also took some more pictures (of course!).

I really loved the way the palm tree shadow looked.

The shops all had the cutest names. Would have liked a bigger selection of merchandise, none of them carried anything too exciting, to us anyway. The only thing we bought on the island was a shirt for Brian's daughter.

They knew I was coming and put the perfect sign up for me! lol

No trip to CC is complete without a picture of Mount Rustmore.

Things were kind of slow getting back on the ship, the computers weren't scanning the keys and they had to record everyone by hand.

Our luggage tags were waiting for us when we got back to the room. I had hoped to get Daisy and we did! It was a sad reminder though that in a few short hours our trip would be over.

Once we were back in our room I went right to sleep. I woke up a few hours later to us pulling away from the island.

I was still really tired so we thought we would get a snack from room service, watch the show in our room and get a head start on our packing. The only disappointing part to this plan was that the show never came on. :(

All hands on deck cheese platter, yummy!

Steak sandwich, this was really good.

Club sandwich and chocolate chip cookies in the background. The cookies were SO good! Brian was so sad that he waited until the last night to get some.

I was surprised at how much time it took to pack and make sure that what we needed for the rest of the night and the next morning didn't end up in the suitcases. We didn't really buy that much stuff but we also didn't really have any wiggle room in our luggage either...We'll definitely remember to take an extra duffle bag next time.

Dinner on our last night was in Animator's Palate, this was the only restaurant that everyone at our table made it to every night we were there. Tonight was the Animation Magic show, which was so fun!

    My drawing... LOL

The screens starting out with just black and white sketches.

Six grain country bread and sun-dried tomato dip was tonight's bread service.

We even had special animated menus.

The appetizers were set on this night, we didn't get to choose, but since our waiter knew I didn't care for shrimp he brought me a vegetarian one. I wish it had just been the shrimp that was replaced because I really would have liked the duck, but the couscous I got was so good. The mozzarella was alright (it was different than what Brian had, it might not have been real cheese) and the tofu was, well, tofu...

See the difference in Brian's mozzarella and mine...

Mickey giving us some insight to the show.

Mac & Cheese Baked Potato Soup, this was interesting, not bad, but the texture was weird with potatoes and macaroni together. I have to admit, I had really wanted to try that popcorn soup and was a bit disappointed that the menu had changed.

Brian and I both had the Beef Wellington for dinner. It was perfection, so delicious.

I had the sweet temptations again, tonight it was Celebration Cake, Chocolate Decadence, and Cappuccino mousse.

    Brian had the Baked Alaska

Finally it was time for the show!

All of these were from our table, Brian's is the far left, you can tell, looks just like him. lol

I got to ice skate, I'm on the far right.

Blurry, but Brian and I got to dance with Donald!

At the end they rolled the credits with the names of all the guest animators.

After the show your servers will give your drawings back to you with the seal attached. Very cute, very fun show.

After dinner we went right to The Tube to get seats for Shawn Farquhar's adult show, Battle of the Sexes, and the Staff's farewell production.

I heard that they were discontinuing the staff show, "If I were not Upon the Sea", and replacing it with something else. Not sure if that happened or not, but if it did then I'm glad we got to see it, it was HILARIOUS!

A really great way to cap off our last night!

Our final towel animal was a giant turtle.

Our view when we woke up the next morning. It was sad to wake up and find out we were already in port.

We got up and finished packing what was left so that we could get to breakfast. We were in AP again. We ended up being the only ones from our table who showed up, which was fine because it gave us more time with our wonderful serving team, we really did love them.

After sitting there all week it was the last morning that I realized my nail polish matched the paint bucket on our table.

    Last delicious breakfast.

After breakfast we joined the throngs of people waiting to disembark. Not a bad time, just slow going at moments. Encountered a lot of cranky people along the way...

Once we had a porter and our luggage, getting through customs took no time at all. Went to the car and headed back towards Disney to pick up our baby boy from the kennel, then home.

Thanks so much for reliving our experience with me! :flower3:
