I had the awesome late night dad duty of laundry. It's one of the few times you can find an open machine. (they really should have more/bigger/efficient washers and dryers aboard)

While waiting for the washer to finish I walked around the ship, pleased to have the entire ship to myself!! These were taken around midnight.

Late at night is my favorite time on the ships. I just wish they left the pool/hot tub open later!

A great thing about our Oasis of the Seas cruise is there are many 24/7 pools and hot tubs.

Great pictures! Can't wait to see it again Saturday. What type of camera?

Amazing shots! DH is an early riser with work and likes to walk the ship around 5 am to get nice clear pictures too.

They could add a load more washers and dryers onboard but unfortunately there will always be those inconsiderate and disrespectful *****s that leave their laundry in them to return at their leisure, and then scream if someone else dare touch them!!!!

Canon 6d with a pancake lens. Took around 1700 pictures during the week! :)

Wow, beautiful pix! My favorite thing to do on the last night is get the kids (and Grandma) to bed, see the last movie shown in the BVT, then wander the ship to "say goodbye". These pix bring back those memories, so thank you!

Couldn't agree more. The pools/hot tub should not be closing as early as they do. I'm a night owl myself (I'm posting this at 1:30am on a Sunday night, after all) and it sure would be nice to use them late at night. - especially the Quiet cove area. Midnight - when the OP's pics (which are great) were taken - is not late by any means. At least, i don't think so - especially when on vacation. So I find it remarkable how much of a ghost town the ship is by that time. I've certainly encountered the same on our cruises. I usually deliver our FE gifts in the 12-1am time frame and I almost never encounter any other passengers.

I also agree about Royal Caribbean cruises (we've been on two - Freedom & Oasis), and it's not just about the pools. While although I am a night owl, I'm usually not one to spend the nighttime in the bars or nightclubs (I prefer the casino, actually). However, just walking around an RCCL ship at midnight, or even 1-2am, there's always at least some signs of life - and not just in the casino. There's always people walking through the Promenade (a design feature I really love on their ships) as they head to the (24-hour) cafe or pizzeria (which I believe is open until 3am nightly), or just passing through. If you go up to the pool deck and walk around, you'll still see some folks - maybe not a lot, but some - hanging out or also taking a stroll themselves.

I agree that things like the adult pool or hot tubs should stay open later, especially when you have so many sea days and can sleep in. I'm from the west coast and already stay up until 3 am every night (work swing shift) so midnight is like 9 pm and the ship is usually like a ghost town by then. I can go to the dance club but it is way too loud. I usually end up sitting on my Veranda for a couple of hours every night. It would be nice to see another option until 2 am for night owls besides the dance club, especially since the kids clubs are open late and I have to wait up for my daughter anyway.

Without trying to sidetrack the thread any more than I already seem to have, I have to say I agree 100% with your entire post. As a night own myself (I read your post last night 30 minutes after you posted it...), there is not much to do after 10-11pm on Disney ships. I'm like you; I don't care to go to nightclubs or be WILD, but being a night owl doesn't necessarily equal partier. But to have SOMETHING to do after 11-12pm would be welcome, other than the Tube/Evolution. Whether that be pools, a restaurant, etc. 1am on Oasis/Allure feels like 9pm on a Disney ship. I remember the first time we asked "How late is the adult pool open?" on Oasis and we were given the funniest look, and told "There's always a pool open."

I've done 18 Disney cruises (with 19 coming up this Saturday) and I will always love them, but I am also so glad we branched out and gave RC a try (Oasis 2x, Allure 2x, Freedom 1x). Both lines have pluses and minuses, and they compliment each other nicely.

Love the direction of this thread. I agree there is a huge opportunity for more late night activity. I would have loved to have had something to do while waiting for our clothes to finish. And on every other night as well.

I am not a night owl by any means, but will pack some No Doze just so I can stay up to see the beauty of the ship when it is so quite, absolutely beautiful! Also, I am only on a three night, so I want to enjoy the ship as much as I can, so I plan to stay up late and get up early. I am sure I will pay for it when I get home. 45 days till we sail, can't wait.:-)

Was that just meant to be a sarcastic way of saying "just go to bed early like the rest of the 95+% of people on the ship"? :confused3
No. It means I am one! I stay up way too late at times. It's usually reading or something like that. It would be nice to have the pools open later though.
