Hello All!

I will start off this thread to get the countdown/planning coordinated for our 4-Day adventure pirate: on the Disney Dream!

I will be traveling with my DW (ToniAnn) and DD(Elizabeth) who will be 11 at the time of our cruise.

Who is coming with us?

Hey Andy!

My name is Sil, my DW Margaret Ann,and DDs Lauren & Rosie (who would be 16 and 13 at the time of sailing) are booked on this sailing. Truth be told, I just moved a dummy booking to this date.

We are veterans of 7 Disney Cruises (2 Fantasy, 1 Dream, 3 Magic and 1 Wonder) and I am trying to get a mini family reunion together on this sailing (which will add two or three more families to the sailing). We are booked (for the first time) in the extreme rear of the ship in a Cat 5E (room 10658)

If I am not successful getting some of the family to join us then we may not actual sail on this cruise (we'd prob just do WDW instead).... but I would handicap my odds of sailing at 50/50. I will probably have a better idea in a couple months...

That said, if I do sail, I am willing to run the Fish Extender for this sailing.

I am also willing to answer any questions that any newbies have...

Happy New Year!

Sil

Wow... This is a tough policy! I prefer the DIS to other sites, so its fine by me... others prefer popular social media sites for cruise planning and FE lists... so it will be interesting to see how things go under this new policy!

Hi Sil!

Thanks for volunteering to lead the FE! Sign us up. We will be up top in #12514.

I will take care of the meet and greet event that will be scheduled for the first day of the cruise. My DW, ToniAnn and DD, Elizabeth (11 at the time of this cruise) have been on 5 Disney Cruises so far (2 on the Wonder, 1 on the Dream, 1 on the Fantasy and 1 on the Magic) and this will be our 6th. I hope everything works out with getting your other family members to join.

Sincerely,

Andy, ToniAnn and Elizabeth Singer (3LVDisney)

Hi guys!! :) My family and I will be sailing with you. It will be myself, DH and DD's 16 and 9 Cant wait to get to know everyone over the next year. :thumbsup2

We will be taking this cruise as well!!!! :cool1: We are a family of 4 with 2 kids, twins (one of each) who will be 11 next year. This will be our 8th DCL cruise. We really enjoy the 4 night cruises as we do a few days at WDW in addition to the cruise. We also try and cruise each winter to get out of the cold of the northeast.
I know it is a year away but always excited for the next cruise!
Jeff.

:welcome:
Welcome Jeff and family! We used to live in NJ. Where in the Northeast are you guys from?

1 year to go, start the countdown!!!

Oh how I wish we were getting on the ship today.... We have gotten killed by the snow the last 4 weeks. We’ve had storms of 30+, 14+, 10+ and 12+ the last 4 weeks. On the positive side, it has been so cold that the snow is very light and fluffy, it is also very pretty.

They canceled Frozen on Ice in Boston today because the subways are all shut down due to the snow.

Hi all,
Newbie here and first time cruiser! My family is so excited! Hope to participate in FE exchange if it's set up. I will be travelling with DH and 3 DDs (who will be 4, 6, and 9). Looking at door magnets and ways to make our cruise extra magical. Suggestions appreciated!

Hey Jennifer. I will prob run the FE as things get a little closer. I am am a 7 time Disney Cruiser, so I can help w any questions you have.

All I will say is they are very addicting (as you can tell from my growing number).

Res are sometimes run on a differentness social media site that is frowned upon being mentioned on these boards. As we get closer, we will figure out where to host the FE lists.

I went to michaels and found a bunch of stuff

Can someone please tell me roughly about how many fe gifts will be needed. I know it all depends but I am currently out of work and am loosing my mind so I thought I would get a head start. Once I am back you might get a piece of used crime scene tape and a finger print card haha.

Its difficult to say. I've been in FE groups as small as 15 and as big as 125. If I were a betting man, this sailing will remain modest sized (considering how quiet this board is so far). Once the FE gets into full swing (prob in late Summer) decisions will be made by the FE head (and participants) if they plan to make several FE lists with a predefined number of participants for each list or just have one list and let it grow.

I will say that in cruises that are quiet early on (like this one) that participation will significantly increase very late in the game (esp if the sailing gets a Military, Florida resident, DVC or *GT discount).

I've run a few FE lists, and I take a more laid back approach to FE management vs others. By this I mean (if it were solely up to me) I would let folks who are very late get added to the group with their knowing that they may not get gifts from everyone since folks may have completed their purchases. My philosophy is the FEs are not a science... you give what you can to as many as you can... and while you may not get back the exactly the same number of gifts given... its all in the spirit of pixie dust. There are type A's that find this approach as being too disorganized a way of doing FEs... so I sometimes have to give into their demands - if majority wants it that way.

Thanks for the info
