DISer chapter of NKOTB anonymous, part 3... still goin' strong!

I'm so happy to hear that everyone is having a great time! My show is over a month away still! Seems like forever! I am really tempted to take my girls to Houston, though. They need to see the band they have been raised on, right? :)

That makes me so excited for Friday!! I'm taking two friends who have never seen an NKOTB concert. I've advised them that I will scream the whole time! We'll see what they say after.

I went to one of the Boston shows with a couple of girls who had never seen them before and they LOVED it. The show just has a really great, fun feel to it. I could watch it every night!

I'm so glad you're all loving the show! My first one (of 3) is a week from tomorrow! :cool1: I am beyond excited! My sister and I have second row center facing the main stage for that one. (Cincinnati) I hope they do the bracelet thing there too Erin! Do you know if it was NK security or arena security who did it? I'm sad there is no after party planned though, for that one, Columbus, or Indianapolis :confused3. I keep checking VIP nation in hopes they will add at least one of those!

My favorite tour so far has been Full Service and that's going to be a hard one to top, so we'll see! Jennifer, what did you think of the show? Has anyone done the after party?

It IS like one big party! It's high energy and fun! The acoustic set is one of the best parts...and Block Party. I liked that song, now I LOVE that song! It's just a really fun show. From where we were standing you could see their interactions on stage and they look like they are just having a lot of fun doing this show. Jon & Joey kept laughing at each other, which was cute. I'm so excited for everyone going. I wish I was seeing more than one, but I'm grateful we got better seats since we are only going to one this time. Sooo worth it!

I have no idea if the wristbands were a venue thing or a tour thing -- either way, we were happy because it really eliminated the people rushing down there and ruining the experience. They tried, but were quickly told to return to their seats. My favorite was a bachelorette party that tried to ignore the repeated requests to leave the area --- who were then escorted out by security. :) Including 2 older women -- mom's of the girls I assume, but clearly early 50's and knowing better.

I mentioned the wrist band thing to my friend who's going to dallas and she freaked out. She's going with her 10 year old daughter and was mailed a pink wristband and a blue wristband and they're sitting front row section J. She's worried that b/c they don't match, for some reason they'll be in different areas? I'm trying to calm her nerves, what color were they for your show? Thanks in advance!

They were all red and given out as tickets were checked....so I can't say what the different colors mean. LOL But if they have tickets with assigned seats, I'd assume they ar eok?

Hmm, the wristbands must be new as we did not have them for our front row seats in Mohegan but the security in our area was fantastic and kept only the people who had front row tickets in our section. I think the wristbands are a great idea.

My Disney obsession is starting to meld with my NKOTB obsession as now I am trying to see if there is any way I can go to Anaheim to see the show and Disneyland. :lmao:I think it is time for an intervention.

How about come for the Orlando show on Friday and we'll take you to Disney Saturday? ;-)

Long time DIS lurker but a lover of NKOTB so I just had to make my first post! My twin sister and I went to the Washington DC and Philly shows this past weekend. We had front row and did receive wristbands to show that our seats were front row. Our wristbands were red. Our tickets were also "Xed" on the back so someone else couldn't be handed off our ticket to go and get themselves a wristband as well. Both DC and Philly's venues gave out the wristbands. One of the staff members from VIP Nation actually went around the barricade and asked to see everyone's wristband so I believe it may actually be a VIP Nation thing vs. venue. Whoever instituted it, I'm thankful! They were definitely carefully watching to make sure those who didn't belong in front row didn't stay.

All in all it was a great weekend! It was a fun show and a fun time all around.

My favorite tour so far has been Full Service and that's going to be a hard one to top, so we'll see! Jennifer, what did you think of the show? Has anyone done the after party?

I thought the show was good. I liked the way the stage was set up - no B stage, NKOTB was in the center with the actual band on the main stage. Therefore every seat was a good seat. Boyz II Men killed it and 98 Degrees was ok but I thought they should've swapped sets. They come on one after another and the place was buzzing after Boyz II Men (hometown crowd) and 98 Degrees could not top it. I loved that NKOTB did Block Party - that's my favorite song off the new album. That being said...I don't think anything will top the Full Service tour. We had great seats for the Camden Full Service show and the power went out in the middle of it during Donnie's solo and it was just an epic night. That was my favorite! I think the seats have something to do with it. I'll be seeing NKOTB again in a little over a month at MixTape. We are in row 20 for that - really looking forward to it!

And don't even get me started on the after parties. I'm sorry but $150 is RIDICULOUS. What happened to when it was $25 to get in to these parties? We went to the free after party at Xfinity Live and saw Vanilla Ice instead!

I should not be allowed on ticketmaster after I have purchased tickets! I looked tonight and they had second row seats....second row! So what do I do? Message Crystal to ask her advice which is to go for it of course! So I bought them, now I'm in the process of trying to sell the other tickets with 3 days left!

Ahhhh!

We did the same thing. LOL That's how we ended up with 2nd row and I highly recommend them! Seriously, you guys know that I was NOT excited about this show...until we got those tickets. And I like the album a lot better now that I heard some of the songs at the show.

How was Vanilla Ice?????? My poor friend...I ended up driving home because she was so miserable. She wasn't feeling good all day, didn't say much about it, then during the show she was getting worse and worse. By the time we walked out she was just ready to get to bed. I felt so bad for her. I think we would have hit the Xfinity Live after party for a bit otherwise. I can tell you that I would never pay $150 for an after party. That's just beyond ridiculous. I was thinking last night, remember the days of the Waffle House after party? LOL How things have changed in the past few years!

I completely agree that 98 Degrees should have gone on first in Philly....Boyz II Men were definitely the favored ones that night. They were "home" and it was so sweet to see that. Shawn was on our part of the stage and he had tears just streaming down his face.

I noticed Shawn was crying! Too sweet!

Vanilla Ice was odd LOL. I got close enough to get great pictures of him but he was mostly hanging behind the bar pouring shots down people's throats. He rapped 'Ice Ice Baby' while he was doing this and after that we left. That's all any of us wanted to see. It was a madhouse in there!

That's exactly what my sister said. What happened to Waffle House? I guess back then they weren't sure how much support they were going to get with this reunion but now? They know they have it and charge whatever we want because some people will pay it!

They finally posted an after party for Cincinnati! But, now after what you guys were saying I feel kind of stupid for buying them! :crazy2: But, I wanted another chance for a meet & greet (I've done one and felt like it was SOooo rushed and have wanted a "do over" since) and picture with someone besides Donnie (yes, I'm hoping more of them will be there! it sounds like they've all been showing up at them, so fingers crossed!) Plus, my sister has never gotten to meet them, so I'm excited for her to experience it. :goodvibes

Ha, I may or may not have priced out a few WDW/NKOTB trip possibilities to see the Orlando show. :rotfl2: But sadly this weekend is one that I can't get away from work so it didn't work out.

You guys....I cannot tell you how incredible our seats were last night! The show was unbelievable and our seats were just awesome. Boyz II Men were sooooo good! Seeing them in their hometown was great. 98 Degrees! WOW! Nick Lachey? WOW! Our boys???? HOLY MOLY!! WOWSERS!! And any other word like that. LOL I don't know if the show was the best ever because it was the best ever or because of our seats, but we had the best time ever. The guys went right by us at one point, I mean int he crowd, right next to us. At the end, Barrett and Griffin were watching the show right next to us. He is flippin' adorable. He was singing along, grinning, waving his harms. Barrett was dancing and taking cell pics like the rest of us, while holding Griffin. LOL I spoke to her and told her Griffin was so cute, she smiled and said thanks. Then at one point they moved closer to the barrier, he was waving to his daddy (awwww) and Donnie decided to go do some crowd greeting. LOL So a small rush of girls happened & Barrett had to move quick. LOL She said to me, "Guess that wasn't a good time!" They hightailed it out of there before "Hanging Tough" was completely over, but it was so nice to see that they enjoy watching the concert too. And she wasn't surrounded by security or anthing. They were present, but at a distance.

Security was really good in our area! Front row people got a wristband and unless you had that wristband, they were not allowing you to stand at the barrier. We were 2nd row, so it was nice to not to have to worry about people rushing in and ruining our view too. They weren't allowing any BS which was nice!

I'm so glad we got those tickets a couple of weeks ago. It was completely worth it and I'm certain it MADE the experience.

On a sad note, I didnt' get to meet up with Jennifer :( My best friend is great, but time is not her strong point. LOL It's her time table and I just try to deal with it. Then afterwards, we left right away b/c she was nursing a migraine that came on DURING the show. :(

Are you talking about the barrier like this below? So no one but front row could fill in these open spaces?

We're second row in the section at the top left of the photo. Not the fancy seats inside the barrier, but way better than the ones we had! We were originally in row R in the section at the bottom right.

Fantastic!! I think NKOTB and Disney is a perfect combo!

Saw the show last night in Charlotte and was blown away. :woohoo: I wasn't a huge fan but a friend and I got tickets to relive our youth and have a girls night out. NKOTB were AWESOME!!!!!

At the two shows I went to the open space between the barrier could only be filled in if you had front row. They continually checked wristbands throughout the night in the open spaces and made fans without the wristbands return to their seats. For one show I had front row off to the side like where your seats are and the other I was center floor front row. The policy was the same at each venue regardless of which area I was in on the floor. The good news is that your second row seats will be like front row-No heads directly in front of you and plenty of room to breathe! Sounds like a good picture taking opportunity! And if you've looked at tour spoilers you know you have a good seat!
