Cheryl - so sorry that you are dealing with all this yet again. My thoughts and prayers are with you as always.

smiley - love you pictures. I dont have a decorating bone in my body that is for sure.

Laurie - have a great trip. Congrats to your dh. If you are in the Magic Kingdom over the week end, maybe you could see how Meg is doing for all of us. Have a great time at the Food and Wine. Hope the weather is ok.

Today is ds3 first day at the nursing home. Dont know if its just orientation or dealing with patients etc.

GAGWTA. Have a good week end. Blessings to you all.

Got some better news today......the tumor marker results came back early, and as expected it did go up, but not too bad - 49 to 65. So, my onc agreed that it would be ok to hold off for another two months and repeat the ct scan again in November. I know it's just delaying the inevitable, but I feel so relieved! I'm really hoping to get thru Christmas while still feeling good. Smiley, you are right, it has been awhile since I was last on chemo, about 15 months ago. And when I stopped, it was only supposed to be for a two month break....so I'm really grateful for the extra long break!

Laurie, I didn't realize that you were at F & W now.....hope you are having a great time! And congrats to your DH!!

Smiley, I really like your dream kitchen! Sounds like you have a lot going on all at the same time. The stamped driveways look so nice....will it be stained too?

LMP, how did your DS like his first day?

Sounds like everybody is having great fall weather. I just love it!

Thanks for all hugs and good thoughts!

Glad you will get to wait on the chemo Cheryl. Thanks for sharing that news.

Having great fun here, although it is hot, hot, hot. We had good meals at Flying Fish and Kouzina, but we all liked Sanaa the best.

Tasted the offerings at EPCOT Friday and then again today. Mostly seemed the same as last year so I am a little disappointed.

Tonight is California Grill and watching Wishes. Hoping for a great experience.

I checked at Splash yesterday and Meg was not there.

Beautiful sunset tonight and watching the New Orleans Saints struggle against Green Bay. We love those Saunts, eternally, lol.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been checking in. Trying to work since we are taking a lot of vacation soon!

Cheryl, glad your news is better than you feared. So happy to hear no chemo in your near future, hope it stays that way.

Snappy, good news! Hope your DH loves his new job. We are arriving in WDW on the 31st, I hope I hope it has cooled down a bit by then.

Beautiful kitchen, very nice! Only wish I had room for something like that. I am the Contractor's wife, my kitchen is the same one we moved into in 1988.

And I forgot my news! I have found an lymphedema therapist that is actually making progress with my truncal LE. I have to pay her out of pocket, but I do not care.

Last night was the first time we have seen the Halloween fireworks. Amazing with the panaramic view and secondary fireworks. I could not believe how amazing this would be especially from the viewing deck at California Grill. Great trip and I like Wyndham bonnet creek more each time I stay. Taking a break from food and wine though.

Just caught up with posts. I am truly sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I find you have such a positive attitude and am just amazed how you handle everything. Just seen your chemo will be put off for a while. Glad you are able to enjoy the holidays. That is a good thing

The first time? Does that mean you have never seen the parade? Well, put that parade on your bucket list. It may be the best parade ever. The headless horseman has to be seen in person, and the grave diggers are awesome! I noticed this year they have pop and locking ghosts!

Laurie, so jealous you are there having fun! but so happy you are there having fun!! lol.... oh and I didn't say hurray about hubby! that is awesome!
Cheryl, that is good news! So glad you can skip the chemo for another while, and wow, from a couple of months off to 15 that is really great! Make hay while the sun shines girl!! Lol.....
had a melt down today, as if we don't have enough going on, our family doctor of 32 years, is retiring, moving back to England to become the Lord of his family estate. His dad is 90 and wants to retire from the job! I am happy for my doc he is an awesome person, but I am devastated, seriously upset. He is a family friend as well so it is really hard to see him go. So now we have to find a new family gp when there is a serious shortage of them.
As if that's not enough, the person who was supposed to be doing our roof, and has had us waiting since mid august for the estimate, messaged me, didn't even call, but messaged me on friday saying he just doesn't have time. So now I am trying to find someone else to do that too. God knows when my kitchen is going to get done.

Dancind, I have never seen the parade. One of my co workers was there and she was actually at the Not so scary halloween party the very night our group was up on the viewing platform outside Cali Grill. Kind of a weird coincidence. She was there with a just adult party too and they had a blast.

LMP, how was your DS's first day at the hospital?

Minijeanie, The Wyndham resort is pretty large, 6 multi floor towers and a hotel as well, 2 lazy rivers, and a number of pools and hot tubs. However, it seems easy to me to get to one building from another around the interior path around the lake. The lazy river I prefer was down for maintenance which I did not expect, but I decided to think that it would just be nicer when I return. I like staying there, have stayed in 5 different buildings. Building 2 was not my favorite but the rooms were renovated and very nice. I actually like best the presidential units which are mostly in Tower 6, could not get one this time since we arrived on a Thursday. We also figured out the last night a great spot at the restaurant at the hotel that you can see pretty much all of the Epcot fireworks sitting at a table on the deck. Our room had a view of the Waldorf golf course and nice sunsets, but I prefer the rooms that overlook the lace towards the west for the same sunsets over the water. We arrived on a Thursday, not the best day to have lots of choices. The owner suggests arriving on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, with Sunday being the best choice, due to turnover.

Smilie, sorry to hear that your doctor that you love so much is retiring. That must be hard for you, especially when the selection of doctors is sparse. I hope he can help you with a reference to someone he has confidence in.

How unprofessional about how the roofer left you high and dry that way! Maybe it is best you aren't using him? Does not sound like someone you can depend on.

DH has to replace the car he is driving, as the alternator has gone bad. It is old anyway and he needs something that gets more miles per gallon. Anyone try a hybrid here? He has looked at both the Toyatas and the Hondas, seems to prefer the Prius.

He has taken a lot of test drives, he needs to make a decision by Monday-no pressure.

Our kids seem to be doing well right now, I am feeling blessed yet old as they are growing up and away it seems.

Snappy, I drive a 2010 Prius, got it when they were having some really good lease specials. Planning to buy it next year, I love my car. The only downside is it's really low to the ground, we're alway hitting the front end on something! But it sure is grand to take on road trips and get 50 mpg. Very comfortable too, at least for me!

Laurie - glad to see that you are having a great and relaxing time

smiley - I am sure it is so hard when you like and trust your dr. and plus he is your friend. I hope you get someone as nice to replace him. Sorry about the roof. Is it the whole roof you are replacing? I :) when I read your roof thing. Reminded me of how dh was in college doing his internship but he took a part time job doing roofs on the week ends in Tennessee to pay for my engagement ring. He said it was so hot up there his sneakers melted onto a roof once and another time he woke up on the ground and his boss said get up and get back to work and stop being lazy. Um, he passed out from heat stroke etc.

Is the weather warm enough there that the roof will have time to cook on as dh calls it?? We are waiting till next summer to do ours.

Diana - glad you are finding someone that is helping with the lymphedema

Linda - I am dreaming of the World Series again

Sha - sure you are very busy

The weather here is strange. Tomm 75 and then sun 55 ish. Wow. Found out ds1 has a girlfriend. He is very personal and doesnt share anything. hope it works out. I think this might be a girl someone at work set him up with.

Ds3 got an 88 on his Fundamentals of Nursing test. He said a few people had meltdowns, cried and some in his group failed. He is back at the nursing home tomm.

Dh promised we would do anything I wanted this week end since he is never here and now I am carless again etc. We shall see.

Havent heard from either dr. yet about my tests. Strange.

We called another roofer based on 2 different people we know using them and being very happy. He called me back within a couple of hours and has already been to the house, he will be back tomorrow to do up proper measurements etc so I think it will work out. Poor hubby!! the things we do for love..... Lol!! From what I know the roof does not have to "bake on" regardless we are still having sunny weather, with no rain in the forcast for another couple of weeks. We are actually in a drought situation! very unusual for us here but I love it!! it is not the whole thing, about 1/3 the whole thing is cedar shakes, but the part to be done was an addition to the house before we moved in and the roof is not pitched steeply enough for it to be shakes thus the water and snow did not drain off properly and it rotted. It's all along the east side of the house, away from the street can't be seen, so we are replacing it with 30 year fiberglass/ashphalt shingles in a color to match the cedar. As long as I don't have water dripping down from the laundry room ceiling I will be happy!!
I am going to pay dear daughter and her fiance to do my kitchen for me, they are very happy to do it, they have a 2 week trip to the cancun area planned for november and are trying to get together as much money as possible for it. I will leave my debit card here for them to purchase supplies, and get help with whatever is needed, and hubby and I are going on another road trip :cool1: probably only as far as the Big Sur area, around monteray, we don't plan on staying in San Francisco this time, just stopping for dinner. We want to spend more time in Sacramento as well. I will see how I do with being only a few hours drive away from Disneyland and not going.....

    Good afternoon sist

3 guesses to who is leaving on a jet plane today, ok. that was too easy:) dh

He had to make an emergency trip to Portland with some guy. He will be back thurs. and then next thurs. he is going to Michigan, sigh, sigh.

My R hip is bothering me, so I think I am definetly calling the endo tomm. to check on my bone scan etc.

I was around so many sneezy, sniffly people at churd yest, I really need to get a flu shot.

Bittersweet day yest. Miss A. from our church is moving. She is the one who has skin cancer and had my same ent surgeon. Sadly I think the cancer is being very aggressive and is now affecting her eye. She said our surgeon gave her a hug. I told her, she must be really special because he never hugged me etc. (So glad she doesnt know he almost killed me!)

Ds 3 is back to the nursing home on Friday. He is managing but said this is not where he wants to be when all is said and done. He thinks he would like the emergency room or psych nursing.

Texted our sista Candy. She sends her love to all and will be back on line soon as she is getting a computer.

Tomm. I have a meeting but it is suppose to rain so we shall see.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Blessings to you all.

    Good afternoon sistas

I got good news about my bone scan. The number is up and the dr. is happy, so they said I need to get another infusion next month.

Now I just have to call the ins. company and make sure they have a "buy and bill" program so they can buy the med and bill the ins. com.

Remember my reclast runaround last year??

    This stuff costs like $1100!!

I scheduled it for mid nov. before our trip. She said I shouldnt have the bad side effects like I had last time but we shall see. Nothing is ever normal for me and she knows that, so I will hope for the best and expect the worst anyway.

Dh is home. Yay, let him in the door at 6 am and he got ready for work.

Maybe we can go pumpkin picking this week end but the ds all seem to be passing around a cold that I dont want.

I don't know if it's ok to post on here or not, since I don't have an official dx yet. Please excuse if not, I am just very worried. I had a core needle biopsy on two spots on the 11th and am sweating the results.

I started having a tightening feeling in my left breast about 3 weeks ago, it felt like something was in there. I could not feel anything with my fingers but it felt like a stone in my breast when I walked, sat, slumped, etc. This same feeling happened like 10 years ago and I gave up caffeine and never had it again. I was told at that time I had fibrocystic breasts, but once I quit the caffeine I was told they were just dense. I have been drinking diet coke a lot lately so put it down to that.

Two weeks ago, I started having deep itching in that same breast. I always get surface itching before my P, but not inside itching you can't scratch. I should say I am on a pill now that keeps me from having my P so I thought maybe that was why, but it still concerned me. That was on a Wed night. I called my doctor on Monday and had a diagnostic mammo & US set up on Wednesday. I also saw my ob/gyn that day who felt nothing more than fibrocystic changes but does not like itching as a symptom so he sent me to a breast surgeon to be careful.

The mammo came back clear, no significant changes from my baseline 5 years ago (I am 39). All it saw was extremely dense breasts and a benign lymph node in the axillary tail, assessment: BENIGN.

    The u/s worries me:

Findings: There is a 9.3 mmm ovoid solid nodule at the 12:00 psoition in the left breast which is somewhat ill-defined and demonstrates slight posterior shadowning whitout hypervascularity. Additionally, there is an ovoid 9.3 mm mildly lobulated solid nodule at the 11:00 psotion which also demonstrates faint posterior shadowing without hypervascularity. No other abnormality is seen.

Impression: Solid nodules at the 11 and 12 position are moderately suspicous for malignancy. Biopsy of both lesions utilizing sonographic guidance is recommended.

I talked to my ob/gyn and he said to try not to worry about this all weekend, they see these reports all the time and not having hypervascularity is a good thing.

But all I can see is 'moderate' and 'malignancy.'

I don't know about my dad's side because he was basically a hit and run procreator, but the only cancer of any kind on my mom's is a great-grandfather who was an alcoholic for many years died from stomach cancer in his 70s and grandfather who was outside all the time, bald with no hat, died from melanoma in his 70s.

I am having such an anxiety attack over those words, and I have anxiety issues anyway. What do you all think? If this is inappropriate, I apologize. I saw on another thread that this was a good place to ask as you are familiar with the vocabulary on these things.

Thank you for reading this far.

Good news on the scan, LMP!

Jobhunter, I am sorry but I can't really help you on the findings on ultra sound report. I am hoping someone else will chime in.

It is certainly appropriate for you to post here, never fear that. I am sorry I can't help. I am hoping someone else who has had an ultrasound will chime in.

When do you expect the results from the biopsy? Truly that is the ultimate answer, both Mammograms and ultrasounds, even MRI's are all just diagnostic not definitive.

The worst part of this is the waiting for the biopsy report. Please try and occupy your mind as you can.

As one of our long time poster's husband who is an avid hunter once said, try and "don't bleed till your shot."

    Hard to do, I know.

I am thinking others will have something more substantial to share with you, but I wanted to post and say I am thinking of you, and hoping for the best outcome.

Of course you're welcome here! It's one of the reasons we started it in the first place!

I've bolded things I think are positive about your findings. Cancers aren't round and nice; they're splotchy and ugly. So round and nice is good. Same with the hypervascularity. Tumors need blood supply to grow, and often have a lot of it. None in your case. That's great. I've been in a similar situation (before my actual breast cancer) and the ovoid spot I had was a lymph node. I'm hoping the same for you, but totally understand the worry. HTH a bit. Hang in there! :grouphug:
