DH and I normally go to WDW in late July (our anniversary is July 27th) for a few days. We are used to high crowds, BTGs, lots of rain and humidity and anniversary or honeymoon buttons ^_^ This will be our first time ever going in October. I have only been to Orlando once in October, but that was the first year that WWoHP came out and I don't remember too well. So, I would GREATLY appreciate any tips from the DIS, expecially from people that have done summer and october visits to the World. Our Plans We will be arriving on Oct. 24th and leaving on Oct. 30th. We are going mostly for F&W and will be attending MNSSHP on Oct. 28th (sunday). It is just DH and myself that will be going, no kids. We will be staying at AoA for our first night, then 25 - 30th we'll be staying at POR. We also have the free dining plan. We plan on taking advantage of rope drop for MK, DHS (EMH RD), and Epcot. Specific Questions * Would sneakers be too hot to wear (socks + fully enclosed feet) or would our summer shoes be better suited? * It's Orlando, FL, I still need to bring ponchos no matter what season, right? * Would we still need to bring our mini portable fans to keep cool? * Will we still need sunblock? * Comparitively to late July and Late October, what are the crowds like? * We plan on arriving to MK on Friday the 26th for Rope drop & 9:05am reservation at Crystal Palace. Would we be able to ride a few rides before our ressie? We also plan on leaving in the afternoon, resting at resort then heading back out for AK (we have a dinner rez at Yak & Yeti @4:15pm), then leaving to Epcot to catch the Eat to the Beat Concert @ 8pm. What do you think our best strategy to tackle the park would be? Our musts for AK are: Kali River Rapids, Safari & to see the tree up close. I'd also VERY MUCH appreciate links to websites or other threads with a strategy overview for MNSSHP, we need to figure out our game plan for that evening. I am expecting high crowds for that one since it is a Sunday evening. I can tell you that we don't care about the dwarves, we will hop in the princess line at 6:30pm and plan on arriving at 4pm to MK. WHEW! Now if you're still awake after reading that, I very much appreciate any tips and advice on questions that I have not asked as well regarding this topic. Thank you!
