so you're saying SSR owners will get the teleporters first?

it figures. OKW owners like me don't want our molecules scattered by some newfangled gizmo...

If someone has a limiting physical condition that is one thing, and yes I have great sympathy for those who do. It's another thing for people who are...well.....think they are owed everything....you know what I mean??

I am not trying to lump you in that category. I'm sure you are a wonderful member. :flower3:

I respectfully disagree. Please count me among the group that cannot stand Disney transportation (one too many times spending 45 minutes waiting for a bus will do that to you) yet has never yelled at cast members. :) . Joking aside, though, I am a person who likes it my way and yet I have found a system that gets me my way without having to get upset. I own at BLT and BWV. I do split stays and walk to three out of the four parks. I take a bus if I want to go to AK (one out of every three trips) and that one bus ride per trip is perfectly pleasant, because I know it's my only one. So while I agree that you should be flexible when staying at Disney, you can manage some of that flexibility on your own.

We actually used the transportation at first, years ago. DH rebelled and refused to ride any more boats or buses. Since joining DVC we have gone back to using the transportation. We still drive if we are going to DTD and maybe dinner at a resort hotel.

Don't forget that if you have TIW you get valet parking FOR FREE!!
Just don't forget to show them your dinner reciept and tip the valet!

But for busy times, it is going to be tough to get BLT, BWV or BCV at less than seven months out. It's hard at seven months out exactly. The OP stated that it would be difficult to book that far out and would be limited to times when her child was not in school.

I agree with everything you say here. I think my point was more about the ways to get around the transportation problems in general and were not necessarily specific to the OP's situation.

I apologize that I was a little rough yesterday. I kind of sounded like a bunch of sour grapes. Disney transportation can be frustrating at times. I just take it for what it is and try and enjoy my vacation without letting waiting get to me. Just ask my wife, I can be a bear if my schedule/timing is not right on. I really have to let that go and just go with the flow while at WDW. I love WDW so much that I just let it slide and embrace the buses, ME and the lines and enjoy time spent with my wife and kids. That is what it comes down to it for all of us....I think anyway. :grouphug:

Thanks everyone for your responses. We just put an offer in for OKW 310 points $55 per point 163 points Aug 2012, 620 points 2013, 310 points 2014 And we are going to pay cash, not finance it. Hopefully the seller will accept our offer of their asking price and it will pass ROFR.

No one has brought up the parents. If I were letting my Son and DIL live in my house "practically rent free" to save for their 'mini-mansion' and they turned around and dropped $17k on a timeshare, boy would I be steamed:rotfl:

    Good Luck with ROFR!

I doubt you would be steamed if your son worked practically for free in your stores since he was 7 and until he was 29, so that you could become a millionaire. And was forced to pass on a full scholarship at an out of state school so that he could work in said stores. Not to mention that he has never ever asked for any money. If you don't know the facts, don't judge.

I'm trying to figure out this contract. Did they bank 163 of 310 2011 points into 2012 and already bank all 310 2012 points into 2013? It looks like 310 points per UY.

Good luck on passing ROFR! Maybe you'll be a DVC member real soon.

That's the way I read it.
They will have a pot full o' points available to use when they close.
    Hope it gets past ROFR.

I think it's safe to say the OP is happy you are not her in-laws.

Maybe the four of them actually enjoy living together so there's no big rush to kick the OP and her husband out of the house.
