DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

No power. The numb nuts across the street let the vines around the pole grow until they reached the transformer and shorted it out. Not the first time this has happened. The whole family is a piece of work including the mom who is certifiably loony.

Just get them evicted and I can move in next door. Then, you can just see me I my bathrobe.

Perfect solution. Sounds like Norm would actually be an upgrade from your current neighbors.

Morning Guys.

Took the day off yesterday to golf with an old friend. I played terrible but I wasn't sitting at a desk.

DS left for Ottawa with his soccer team yesterday around 8 am. 14 boys and 4 adults in 3 vans for a 12 hour drive, what could be more fun than that?

We are starting a long weekend here and for the first time in a long time it will just be DW and I. Maybe we can celebrate that anniversary that just went by.

Have a good one!

Morning all...
Long week; may this be a "short" day.

Think we'll leave it as it is for awhile. Who know, maybe we'll get a rush of posters and it will get closed out.

We can certainly leave this one running on to 250, but I'm pretty sure the Mods don't care so much about page counts anymore. If and when we get around to wanting a new thread, I believe we'd just ask them to close this one.

Thursday evening which means tomorrow is...a trip to the DDS and to the Motor Vehicle Office.

Oh joy...
Still aching from Monday's DDS ordeal (which may be a rather bad sign) and DMV interactions are similar to sedative free extractions as well. May there be as little pain involved as possible.

All it takes is a Rush Poster to close out a thread? OK THEN!

LAST!

:lmao:
The world needs more big ol' Rush posters.

That one is from back in my youth.

Just get them evicted and I can move in next door. Then, you can just see me I my bathrobe.

Seconded!

CJ you need to get to work on this.
We could turn the place into a half-way house for DisDads.
And then there'd still be room in your front yard for several trailers.

Golf beats work (and I don't even golf).
Good luck to the kids on the road and enjoy the time alone.

Long weekend?
It is related to a holiday up that way that us silly Yanks are unfamiliar with or just a good time to not be working?

I am good with that.

Just get them evicted and I can move in next door. Then, you can just see me I my bathrobe.

Perfect solution. Sounds like Norm would actually be an upgrade from your current neighbors.

I met Norm's wife and daughters, they would be an upgrade over the bozos that live there now.

Day on the golf course is a win no matter how you play. And congrats on avoiding escorting 14 kids on a 12 hour drive.

Enjoy the weekend.

Come on down and get rid of them and it's a deal.

Some provinces have an August long weekend, some don't. Here the first Monday in August is called New Brunswick Day. Who am I to argue with a day off?

You show sound judgement in that thinking.

Happy Friday. Bought a new, used lawnmower today since my old one rusted out. Not having much luck with things with motors these days.

Perfect solution. Sounds like Norm would actually be an upgrade from your current neighbors.

I'm always an upgrade.

?

!

Enjoy that extra time to -- ahem-- celebrate your anniversary. After those 5 minutes, you'll still have a lot of time remaining. :lmao:

I've got the family ready to move. Now, just waiting on CJ to get this done.

I met Norm's wife and daughters, they would be an upgrade over the bozos that live there now.
g.

Well, 3 out of 4 of us ain't bad.

Power just came back on, FPL is pretty good at restoring service.

Can they restore service to everyone except your neighbors?

You are up early mornings before normal people... I can think of a couple of herbicides that will keep things from growing for a couple of years. Problem solved.

Elegant solution. But the eviction would be nicer. Certainly more enjoyable.

Sounds like Norm would actually be an upgrade from your current neighbors.

Are you sure???

Took the day off yesterday to golf with an old friend. I played terrible but I wasn't sitting at a desk.

Anything's better than work.

Well, not torture, but... you know what I mean.

14 boys and 4 adults in 3 vans for a 12 hour drive, what could be more fun than that?

Probably won't be bad at all.

If it was 14 girls. Then you have a problem.

Long weekend?
It is related to a holiday up that way that us silly Yanks are unfamiliar with or just a good time to not be working?

I think here we just call it August long weekend... or Civil holiday or Stat holiday.
It's just there because... Summer!

Afternoon Dads. Been a nutty week with traveling combined with the part of the tree falling and now DD's vehicle is in shop cause transmission fluid ain't the color it's supposed to be. This stuff needs to stop already. Traveling made for a full week so hopefully I can get back to providing recaps of our DCL sailing. Need to pick up photos from disposable water camera today so should be able to add some pics we took with these.

Everyone have a good weekend
Returned home from a nice lunch to see this...

Every neighborhood seems to have 1 or 2 knothead familys.

I enjoy golf but do not play enough to be any good. But I always find a bad round of golf beats even an o.k. day in the office. Enjoy the time with DW

:rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2: Well played Norm. Sorry about the lawnmower and transmission. We too seem to be haunted right now with things going haywire

Since it's Friday, and two weeks ago today we were on Castaway Cay during our cruise, figured I would cover Disney's private island. I first have to say, that I am awaiting for DCL to someday have a 7 night cruise with 3 sea days and 3 stops at Castaway Cay as CC is by far our favorite part of sailing with DCL. It's a tropical beach WDW. Water is beautiful and the island is spotless. They do 5k every morning for those crazy enough to run on a tropical island in the summer - just saying. Plenty to do for the kids with supervised areas just like the kid clubs on the ship. There is a family beach and a separate adults beach (Serenity Bay) and despite both kids being 18+ we stayed with the family beach area as there are more places and things to see and do. We were lucky enough to get a cabana (+++ but includes bike rental, snorkel eq rental and tube and float rental) which keeps you close enough to things but still a less crowded beach. You can also do all kind of water sport activities (extra charge) paddle boats, snorkeling, jet skis, para sailing, etc. Snorkeling lagoon is pretty cool as there are several sunken Disney things to see including one of the submarines from the old 20,000 leagues under the sea attraction. There are several bars to get libations as well as servers working the the beach to bring you drinks and a couple of souvenir shops. Lunch is included, buffet style bar-b-q cookout buffet (Cookies & Cookies Too) and there are two different drink stations and ice cream stations which are also included.

Thanks, and hope your transmission issue isn't as bad as mine. I did buy a used lawn mover, under $100, with a bag collector. I think it was mismarked, but it worked well.

I didn't say that. What I don't understand is why you want to live down here. We do not have a Bourbon Bar. Nude beaches yes but no Bourbon Bar.

.

How about I open a bourbon bar on one of those nude beaches? But, I only want to work the nude beaches with attractive women on them.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

thanks. I got a good feeling of what people think if me. After they finished numbing my tooth the assistant asked if I wanted a cup of coffee while I waited for the DDS. So she must think I'm pretty gullible. All I could picture was the old Cosby routine about a trip to the DDS. Then when I went to Taco Bell I scored a Senior Discount so the kid at the counter thinks I'm old. Motor Vehicle office was only about the 3rd circle of hell so it could have been much worse.

Morning folks.
First day of the long weekend and I'm at work. Tomorrow too... and Monday.

'Afternoon all
and a good rest of the weekend to you.
Sorrows for those that have to work through it, but at least you get to laugh and point at the rest of us during the week.

And...
I notice that the thread name changed just a smidgen, there.
