The total suggested tips are $12 per person per night of the cruise. Thus, for a 7 night cruise, the suggested tips are $84 per guest. This covers the 4 main tipped positions--server, asst. server, head server, room steward. It does not cover any additional tip to room service nor the mandatory tip included on bar purchases.

Here is exactly what is written in our travel booklet from DCL for our trip in 2006: GRATUITY GUIDELINES INFORMATION

Of course, you should never feel a gratuity is automatically expected from you, but it is customary on the last evening of the cruise to give gratuities in recognition for outstanding service. To expedite this process we have made it possible to charge gratuities directly to your stateroom charging account. It's as eacy as filling out the form provided to you in your stateroom, and giving the form to any service staff member, or bring it to the Guest Services Desk. We will give you a printed receipt for each service staff member informing them that you have prepaid your gratuities. If at any time you want to change the amount that you have exteded, please contact the Guest Service Desk for prompt service.

As a guideline, can we suggest per person (including children):

    3 Night 4 Night 7 Night 10 Night
    Restaurant Server $11.00 $14.74 $25.75 $37.00
    Assistant Server $8.00 $10.75 $18.75 $27.00
    Head Server $2.75 $3.75 $6.50 $9.50
    Sateroom Host/ess $10.75 $14.50 $25.75 $36.25
    Room Service Your Discretion

The columns wouldn't line up properly, but each separate value, is based on in order a 3 Night Cruise, a 4 Night, a 7 Night and a 10 Night.
Using these guidlines, my family of 6, taking a 4 night cruise next fall would give $262.74 in total (second value in each row x 6).

DCL will also give you small envelopes should not wish to charge your gratuities, but instead give cash directly to each CM you want to pay a gratuity to.

Hope this is what you were looking for.
