Ok, I have read all the posts on luggage transfers so let me see if this is right. If I am renting a car at the port to go to MCO I can still purchase a transfer for my luggage, if I am flying on song can I check in with the Delta people and not worry about my bags untill I get home?

Yes, but depending on what time your flight is. I think the flight has to be within 4 hours.

USAIR took them and we had a 5:30 flight. Not sure about Delta. No charge for us in January, but have heard that may have changed. Also, get your boarding passes at the port, one stop you don't have to make at the airport.
