I have seen the souvenir mug that they sell and you get reduced price refills. can anyone tell me more about them? They look glass, are they really glass or like a heavy plastic? Maybe a silly question but if I'm going to carry it around I know I would be clumsy and drop it... and if I've been drinking who knows...

They are a thick glass. You do need to carry it around. When you finish your beer turn the mug in and the bartender will give you mug card/token. Next time you want a beer turn in the token and you will get your 22 oz beer for the price of a 16 oz. Just remember to keep a mug at the end to take home.

It is glass and a good weight. But while in board, you can always exchange it for a beer token (a card you carry around until you go back to get another beer). Then on the last night, you go get a nice clean mug to take home. My hubby took full advantage of this on our trip two weeks ago.

They're really great thick glass. I bought my dad and I one each on our cruise. He really liked going to get it filled up before movies, or to sit on our verandah. He liked going to Fro-Zone's fill station and getting an icy beverage, getting a discount. He brought ours home and my mom was like "Well we have these nice mugs we should get a kegerator." They're a great souvenir.

It's a nice souvenir too! It's a bit heavy but not horrible. I've read many posts that say it is made from shatterproof glass.

Oh cool great info thanks. Can you get reduced other drinks in it or just beer?

My hubby and I each got a mug on our last cruise over Christmas 2011 on the Magic. We are planning on taking them along again on the Fantasy in a few weeks. I've heard some folks say this was fine...we will find out! I must say, nothing like sipping a 22oz beer by the pool onboard a Disney cruise on Christmas Day!
