Thats what it comes down to!!!

Went out with this guy once, we had a nice time. Made another date.

Date comes, he cancels b/c he had a car accident. I have no reason to doubt him, so I give the benefit of the doubt. I show concern, and we reschedule.

Tonight is the night. Texted about 45 minutes ago to make sure we are still on. No response, Date time is supposed to be right now.

    Grrr...

Don't think I want to see him again now. Unless he died or something. :sad2:

Why do men act like this?? Where the heck are the normal ones hanging out?

That sucks. But on the bright side, it's very considerate of him to show you what a jerk he can be upfront.
As far as, where are the normal guys - I found mine the old fashioned way - in a bar :)

I totally agree. It sucks. Next this guy! SO not worth your time.

I was in the "being a single mom sucks" mode earlier today but dating to find someone is even worse!

It isn't fun. It was fun, like when I was 22. Now. Not fun at all!

If you don't mind the online thing, my two sisters, a cousin and several friends have found LTR on www.plentyoffish.com

All the best guys are married to the ladies of the DIS. At least, that's what they'd have you believe. Sorry things didn't work out for you this time.

That's where I met this guy, actually. I feel no stigma with the online thing...it's really one of the few ways I meet people.

It's just annoying when this happens. I'm not asking for the impossible, just the same respect you would show to any other human. Like calling to say, "Hey, I'm sorry, but I cant make it tonight." Though that would be annoying too, at least it's being upfront.

As a previous poster said, be glad that he is showing you what a jerk he can be now before you invested anymore time in a relationship with him.

Sorry he blew you off. Dating can suck. If I found myself alone now, I don't think I would have any interest in dating. I hear the complaints from my girlfriends and I feel so bad for them.

Speaking from experience long ago*, I can tell you it's not just men.

*--Been married for awhile and wouldn't ever want to have to date again. Too much work. As Louis CK said, "I'd have to get all this (pointing to himself) showroom-ready. Right now, it's pure functionality."

Back in 1994, someone stood up a friend of my now wife. DW talked her friend into going out and that's how I met DW. Her friend is now married to my friend from the bar that same night. Getting stood up isn't always a bad thing :)

So sorry! :( Been over 20 years since I have dated and I can honestly say I hope I never have to do that again.

Pretty sad that the guy couldn't even text you. It doesn't get any easier than that as it's as disconnected and impersonal a person can be while still being somewhat courteous. @@

Sorry -- this made me LOL. If he died, I doubt you'd want to see him, either....:lmao:

I tried plenty of fish once and OMG, never again. Been on a few dates. I found it so exhausting. Have you ever gone out on a bunch of first dates? Its the same crap talk over and over again. Had a couple of nightmare dates. One guy looked nothing like his pic. The pic must have been from 80 years back. I have no patience for online dating anymore. Non whatsoever.

OP, The guy could have at least texted to let you know he cant make it. But then again what do you expect from online dating right?

I've been divorced for close to a year (separated for over 18 months) and started the on-line dating thing earlier this year. It was a complete shock to my system....lots of telling the same story over and over again, and had many guys who looked like "3's" who wanted "9's", and went on a first date where the guy told me the next lucky lady he marries will get her name re-engraved over his first wife's name in his old wedding ring

I didn't give up though and have been dating a nice man for a few months. It isn't easy since everyone has a past but I am still young, take care of myself and want to enjoy the next phase of my life with someone by my side.

ps...edited to add, in the dating world, these people who disappear and reappear are called "poofers"...this isn't the last time you'll hear from him, I'd bet you in a heartbeat he'll call you again...i've had poofers seem really interested and flake out and then call begging for another shot. It's up to you what the next step is.

Is he just supposed to be arriving when you posted or is he very late?

If he's just supposed ot be arriving, maybe he hit some traffic or something...

Considering he's almost 24 hours late that would be one hell of a traffic jam.....:lmao:

He probably died. If he didn't, he'd be better off if he did should he ever run into Aurora63 again.;)

Sorry that happened to you. I've been married to DW for 38 years. I hope I'm never in a position to "date" again. If I did, I hope I'd treat someone with more courtesy than you've been shown.

    Hang in there.:)
