    How does it work?

No wheel chair, when should we arrive? What area typically are you say in? Or it doesn't matter.

I just have time for a quick answer.

Seating for guests with wheelchairs is across the entire top row, with a few seats in the very front row. There is no way to tell how busy it will be for guests with wheelchairs or ECVs - there may be lots of those when the park is not busy or few when the park is busy.

With DAS or Fastpass Plus, you will go in a separate Fastpass Plus entrance. If you do Fastpass Plus, you will have a window of time to enter - but I would go toward the beginning of the window. If your person using a wheelchair can get out, go down one or 2 steps and transfer to a seat, there are more spots available.

We just got back from a trip Feb 16- 23rd and used the DAS for the 8:30 show. No wheelchair. We arrived at 8:00 and were waved through the FP+ area. We literally were the only people walking up that side with the hordes of non FP+ people all on the other side.
Once we got into the theater, we were free to sit where we wanted and no one checked our DAS again.
    Very Easy.

Do you need to get this listed as a time on the DAS or just show up when they are letting people in?

You would need to use it as one of your Fastpass Plus times or get a DAS Return Time (they might let you in with just showing the DAS, but it would be safer to get a Return Time).

We didn't need to get a return time, just showed the DAS & were directed to the FP side. However, we went to the 2nd show & it wasn't very crowded. It might be different for the first show that tends to have more people.
