We were there Oct 17-22 and they were painting all the inside hallways on the third floor and they started early around 8am.

The Zebra trail had painting on the exterior going on. They started at 8am and were done around 4 but we were told numerous times by the AKL CL IPO that there was nothing going on in that area....boy was he wrong. We had to keep the drapes closed otherwise the view would be of the large crane ladders and the workers.

It wasnt too noisy though but the paint fumes were gross.

Construction not bad.. we booked 2 connecting standard rooms upgraded to savanna view, and construction view, noise was not bad at all. and the animals were always out, we did spend some down time at the rooms and the construction was not a problem at all.
Very happy with our stay and the resort

We were on the Zebra Trail from 10/25 - 11/2. And as someone mentioned they were indeed painting the outside. As a matter of fact on 2 seperate afternoons the "lift" with the painters was literally outside our window. A little freaky but didn't really bother us. They were working on our side the whole trip.

Other than that we didn't really notice much.
