confused? AP memory maker vs photopass?

OK, so the new AP will have a photopass associated with it. How does the 'photopass' compare to the current memory maker? Is it the same except for the expiry or is it different? Does it include downloads for a year? What about trips taken at the end of the AP? Do you keep the photos in your account for any time at all after the AP expires? Or do you have to download everything by the last day of your AP? That would be difficult if you are travelling elsewhere after WDW. It would also mean little time to edit photos, choose products to order, etc.
