I might have missed this information but does anyone happen to know when the estimated completion time for condor flats upgrade to grizzly airfield is?

The signs in the area say "Summer 2015" and the best guess (at this point) is probably May 15 (to coincide with the re-opening of Soarin').

The most recent refurb schedule I saw has Taste Pilots Grill reopening March 13. Not sure what that means for the whole area, however.

It seems possible that Taste Pilots Grill could re-open ahead of the rest of the area given its location. The entrance to the QS is very near the "start" of the area (when approaching from BVS), so they could just open up a walkway to the entrance.

Will there be a new attraction going in or is area just getting a facelift?

Soarin' is being upgraded and the area is getting an face lift/re-themed. No other new attractions are planned.

The refurb on Soarin' is scheduled to be complete on 5/14/2015 so my guess is that is when that entire area will be opened up again

How far in advance does Disney usually start doing soft openings after a refurbishment?

There is no set amount of time. Sometimes they'll do soft openings for CM only, for select guests, for parts of the day, etc. Basically, you can't count on a soft opening, so it's just a matter of luck if you're there when it happens.
