We are concierge on the Magic in a 1 br suite, our in-laws are right next door in a deluxe family verandah room.

It dawned on me when I did our online check-in that we may have a few logistical problems with this -- so I called shoreside concierge and they said they could check-in with us and board whenever we do.

But...I'm guessing they won't be able to join us in the lounge? Correct? Ooops.

Correct, they will not be able to join you in the lounge or on the concierge deck if you ship has one. Some report that they will not be able to board with you either, and will tell you that shore side CMs do not always give good answers.

Correct. The concierge lounge and its perks (including the concierge sundeck) are for concierge guests only.

The Magic does not have a concierge lounge. Only the two newer ships have lounges.

Since you're on the Magic, you mean the little space in the terminal?

Honestly...I'd skip that. I personally preferred entering the main mickey head entrance rather than entering from the side and doing what felt like cutting into the line for photos. So I personally would just board with them, rather than them board with you.

Or just board separately and meet up later!

    Thx :)

p.s. they would be incapable of boarding themselves...we would likely be sailing away and still see them in the terminal like this :scared: LOL!

They should be able to board with you so you can take a group picture. Just ask, I have had a friend do this on several occasions and it has been allowed. The Magic doesn't have a concierge lounge, but they do use one of the adult clubs (used to be what was sessions not sure of the name now) as a lounge for when you first board. They have appetizers and drinks and you meet your hosts and get your itineraries there. When you get there you can ask and they might be able to stay with you (again I have had friends that have done this), or you can go after lunch. There will also be another time when there will be a meet and greet with food and free drinks and a surprise character to take take personal photos with.

We were concierge and MIL was not... They allowed her to come through the Mickey head and join us for the group photo, and walk onto the ship together. We were on the Dream and she was not allowed in the lounge, but we all just went to Cabanas for lunch first, so no big deal...

No worries, they are used to those scenarios :-)
