We had booked WL CL in 2008, but didn't stay there and I remember asking about that then and they said they could provide it (I just wanted to surprise DH with Oktoberfest from Epcot), but I guess things have changed since then.

I guess we will see if they ahve it and if they don't, I will go get her some from the Hess station or see if the Px at SoG has any.

I'm guessing there's a difference between their ability to obtain one specialty beer and stocking a buffet of beers from each of the countries in Epcot.

I would call IPO directly to discuss. I'm not sure about their ability to accommodate but it's definitely worth a call.

For this trip, I am just trying to find out if Coors Light is available at WL CL, but I've been told it isn't.

I'm not sure the IPO can do anything to help you with the lounge, but they can definitely make sure your dining reservations are noted. The restaurants do a great job with allergies. :thumbsup2 For the room, I would recommend ordering groceries from Garden Grocer or We Go Shop so you can have the rice milk and soy, special foods, etc, available for your vacation. As for the lounge, there is a LOT of cross contamination due to people switching the tongs around to the different foods, touching the food with their hands (especially children do) and I would not recommend them eating that food.

Thank you. We are familiar with how the restaurants handle food allergies, just looking at the CL lounges

We drive down, so we can bring a case of the baby's milk with us, it'.s a shelf stable item and she drinks a carton a day, as they are kind of small, it would have just been easier if we didn't have to do that. Her mom can avoid other items as necessary.

We are familiar with the restaurnats dealing with food allergies and we will carry the baby's milk with us.

Luckily you guys are driving! That way you can pack lots of safe foods and snacks for the room. There are plenty of drawers to store things. :)

I'm not packing foods. We will bring along the baby's milk I'm sure, because she can get it here cheaper at the Commissary ($0.75 per carton vs $3.00 plus at a regular grocery store). Her mom can just avoid strawberries, shellfish and regular milk.

I guess it just depends on how allergic she is. A good friend of mine has pretty severe food allergies. If she picked up a pair of tongs that had even brushed up against any type of food with nuts in it she'd be needing her epiPen. The CL castmembers assemble all the food trays themselves in a very small back room. I imagine there isn't space to keep the food separate from each other.

Yes, tell the resort. It's kind of all the same, if you are having the IPO make your ADR's, then they are also going to note it for your CL stay. Another way to think about it is that the CL is food is prepared in one of main kitchens in each resort. As in, the restaurant kitchens. They are literally one and the same. Regardless, the resort will almost certainly have you talk to a chef directly at check-in to learn your specific needs. The IPO is not the same staff as the resort. Sometimes what they say is not exactly the same as what you find when you arrive. Generally the staff at the resort knows better than IPO staff, who are cautious.

Likely, the resort will be able to offer you some allergy free foods, but not necessarily the exact brand you like. Some 'allergen free foods' are bland (prepackaged brownies), others are amazing. Since you have a car, it makes sense to bring a few back -up rations. Another option is shopping near WDW. Many relatively convenient options: Publix grocery store, Walgreens (many 24hours), Walmart +, Whole Foods, Target +, WinnDixie, CVS.

DO check out the DISabilites section of the DIS. The threads there list the specific brands that WDW carries. It's always subject to change, but the threads are updated. I also suggest dinner at 1900 Park Fare. The lead specialty chef there is great. (assuming he's working on the day you are there)

Her allergies are only when ingested, as are the baby's at this point. She avoids milk, cheese, and ice cream for herself and those plus yogurt for the baby.

We should have no problem taking a case of rice milk for the baby and I was told that Soy milk could be provided upon request, so it has been noted.

Great, thank you. I will check out the Disabilities board, didn't know they had food info. It is noted on our dining reservations. We are only eating at Kona Cafe, O'hana, and Garden Grill. She has been looking at menus and the restaurants and we've chosen accordingly.

She isn't picky about brands of anything, so we are good there.

I should add that WL is the only CL my family has not tried. I can't say exactly how they do things there. Each resort does have slightly different procedures.

At BC, we had a funny experience. We checked in a little late. Staff had us call a chef. Just after, we went to dinner at the Capt's Grill, the same chef came to our table! We all had a good chuckle.

All the places you list are great. I just point out 1900PF because the CM that works there is special. Maybe next time around.

    Have a great time.

My son was on a gluten free diet a few years ago because the doctor had diagnosed him with Celiac disease. (luckily after seeing a specialist it turned out to be IBS) We were worried about him at WDW but it turned out amazing! The restaurants were great, even the counter service places went above and beyond to make meals for him. :goodvibes I remember his favorites were the GF fried chicken at 50's Prime Time, and the GF macaroni and cheese at Chef Mickey's. :thumbsup2

I am sure this has been addressed sorry for additional question on it but DD15 has gluten sensitivities. Does CL offer GF desserts etc. or do they not make provisions for this allergy? thanks! We stayed CL 5 years in a row so I know the standard fare with but this new allergy not sure if it is worth it for next summer>

I'm not really sure. The one trip we took when my son was eating GF we were staying at a DVC resort and we ordered groceries from We Go Shop. I remember the QS places all had pre-packaged GF brownies that my son said tasted good. Maybe the CL CMs could get some of those??? Hopefully someone has experience asking and can tell you. :)

So I have been telling DH about CL rooms, and he cannot wrap his head around the "free beer" (yes I know it is part of the price for that level room). He is convinced there must be a limit to the amount of beer a person can get from the lounge each day. Is there? And when is it available? Thanks!
