Then we had another update from our West Coast reporter, Paula (smile4stamps).

She sent us a pic of her lunch, which I believe came from a place in Cars Land at California Adventure that is called the...

    COZY CONE MOTEL

Chili "Cone" Queso & High-Octane Pomegranate Limeade
Your choice of beef or vegetarian chili, served in an edible bread cone with cheddar cheese, cheese sauce and corn chips.

Paula said, "The chili cone queso was good. The chili has a little kick to it! The cone didn't really add or subtract much from it.
And my limeade disappeared kinda fast!"

Next up is an update from Jess (ILikeWaffles).

She and Pete were at Epcot today and had lunch at...

    Chefs de France

    They started with this...

Cassolette d'escargots de Bourgogne au beurre persille
Casserole of Burgundian escargots baked in parsley and garlic butter

Then for her entree, Jess chose the...

Croque monsieur - the classic French toasted ham and cheese sandwich
& French Fries (subbed for the salad, which normally comes with this)

Jess said, "Both were delicious! There were a ton of fries hidden under the sandwich, and there was no way that I could eat everything (despite how much I wanted to). ;)

While Pete chose this for his entree...

Crepe Florentine - large crepe filled with chicken, spinach, mushrooms and bechamel sauce

Jess said, "Pete thought this was okay, although a bit bland."

Then they made a stop at the French Bakery,

    Boulangerie Patisserie

    Sacristan

Jess said, "We split this. The pastry was light and flaky, and there were
enough chocolate chips to give it the perfect flavor."

"We spent most of the afternoon watching the Epcot Holiday Storytellers."

"Pere Noel in France was our favorite."

4 Scavenger Hunt Points Earned for two new entrees at Chefs, a new snack, and the holiday-themed pic

Then Pam (mousiemom) sent us a holiday-themed update from the DHS'...

    OSBORNE LIGHTS

Then Pam sent this pic with a description of,

    "We found it!"

I asked Pam what was up with the cat pic??? :confused3

Her reply, "They place this black cat at the Osborne Lights and you have to find it. We find it every year." :thumbsup2

So now I was curious, :scratchin

Here is what I found out about the hidden Black Cat...

A fan favorite to try and find every year is the black cat light display. The black cat in the Osborne Lights is a hidden joke among the Imagineers. It's actually a Halloween light display that was accidently included in the lights the Osborne family sent to Walt Disney World. Cast Members hide the cat each year in a different place.

So thanks to Pam (who learned about it right here on the DIS, of course ;)), I learned something new tonight. I therefore award her a bonus Scavenger Hunt Point. :thumbsup2

4 Scavenger Hunt Points Earned (3 for the Osborne Lights pics + 1 Bonus point)

We'll be at WDW from Jan 2nd - Jan 8th and I'd be happy to report in just let me know! :)
    We're staying at AKL

I booked the trip a little late so I'm still trying to fill some ADRs but so far we're eating at Sanaa, LTT, Via Napoli, Raglan Road. I have a couple more slots to fill.

Then Pam & family went to the Art of Animation Resort tonight to have dinner at...

    Landscapes of Flavor

    Surf and Surf Burger
Crab Cake topped with fried Popcorn shrimp, tomato, lettuce, and cajun remoulade on a brioche bun served with house-seasoned fries

    Pam said, "This was delicious!!"

    And for dessert...

    "A Yummy Cupcake"

And then Pam sent us some great bonus pics from AoA, beginning with this holiday-themed pic...

The Art of Animation Resort's Christmas Tree

And then some nighttime photos from around the resort, which I loved. :thumbsup2

Though not holiday-themed, I really enjoyed the AoA pics so I'm awarding Pam another Bonus Point for them. :thumbsup2

Now we are going to switch back over to the West Coast, where Paula (smile4stamps) has just had this for her dinner...

    Ghirardelli Gold Rush Sundae
Peanut Butter Hot Fudge Sundae - Vanilla ice cream with homemade hot fudge and melted peanut butter throughout. Topped with whipped cream, chopped almonds, a cherry and Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Squares

Paula said, "That's a healthy dinner, right?" ;) :lmao:

Then a little while later, she sent this pic from...

    CORN DOG CASTLE

    Corn Dog with Apple Slices

Paula said, "So I just had dessert first. Although I still don't think this counts as "dinner"." ;)

But hey, at least she had some fruit! :lmao:

    Good morning everyone! :)
First up today is sanapp's update from last night.

She and her DD were at the Contemporary Resort to have dinner at...

    California Grill

    sanapp started with this cocktail...

    California Sunset
Crown Royal and X-Rated Fusion with a splash of Orange, Pineapple, and Cranberry Juice

    sanapp said, "It was tasty."

sanapp said, "DD had a huge bowl of strawberries for her app and I had a California roll. We enjoyed both of these."

California Sushi Roll with Jumbo Lump Crab, Avocado, Cucumber

    Seared Diver Scallops
with Zellwood Corn Risotto, Spiced Tomato Broth, Micro Popcorn Shoots

sanapp said, "DD had grilled chicken (no pic) and I had scallops with a corn risotto. The scallops were cooked very well and the risotto was nice. We were getting very full by this point, but we pushed on."

Kids' Chocolate Pudding with Whipped Cream

    Heather’s Chocolate Sampler
Marshmallow Whoopie Pies, Chipotle Chocolate Cupcake, Peanut Butter Buckeye Pop, and Valrhona Mint Chocolate Cup

sanapp said, "DD had the chocolate pudding for dessert and I had the chocolate sampler. I managed to at least taste each, but that was it." :guilty:

"Then we went out and froze to watch Wishes."

And then sanapp sent a holiday-themed pic from the Contemporary Resort (a repeat pic of one sent to us by Nanabug)...

Here's what Linda had to say about her Mickey waffle, "Don't even ask the price! But it made me smile from ear to ear
(and that's the order in which I ate them! :lmao: )

    She also had this...

Linda said, "This is what a £4.50 cappuccino looks like (nearly $8!)" :scared1:

And being the great live reporter that she is, Linda also included a picture of the menu in her update. :thumbsup2

Then some bonus pics, the first an interior one...
