Hi there! I can answer that since I had a bite of the potatoes on Em's plate. ;)

They are boniato potatoes that are slightly sweet but have russet potatoes added to make them less sweet. I hope that makes sense. They were creamy good but I would rather have just a traditional mashed potato.

BTW: Congrats on your weight loss progress and what an awesome trip to look forward to!!

Barb: THANK YOU so very much for once again being the live dining hostess for all these updates!! You do a tremendous amount of work! Em noted that you had to fill in the blanks for some of her live updates so thank you for that!

Oh and we ran into Tstidm1 one morning... I have a photo that I can post if he is cool with it!

    Looking forward to reading more...

Welcome back Brenda! :wave2: I was just getting ready to post Emily's final update (yes, I fell a bit behind over the weekend :guilty: ). Emily did a great job with her updates. So good, in fact, that I discussed some of them with my family last night and will attempt to make some changes to our ADRs today. ;)

And now for Emily & Brenda's final update of their trip, which sadly came to an end on Monday. :sad1:

As a surprise addition to their Dining schedule and for their last Disney meal, they had lunch at Magic Kingdom's...

    The Plaza Restaurant

    Here is what they shared...

1/2 share of an Angus Chuck Cheeseburger served on a flour-dusted kaiser roll with cheddar cheese and french fries

"This meal was perfect. We always love it. The meat is seasoned perfectly, and the fries are like nothing else. They're perfectly crispy on the outside all the time. In fact, Constance, the Main Street citizen, recommended them to us." ;)

Then for dessert, they shared this beauty...

Banana Split (without the pineapple sauce)

"This has to be my favorite dessert. One scoop of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry along with two bananas, fudge, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, walnuts, and a cherry on top. Perfection!" :thumbsup2

My son and I are going Monday to Disney, he just saw the P&F pic and loved it! Any idea how much the P&F lunch box meal is? I looked on allears and didn't see it on the menu.

I was looking forward to the dole whip with rum but it looks a little disappointing. I was expecting the 'float' version I think :confused3

Wow. I was thinking I could get about 40 or so points, but I'm in shock for doing only two updates a day due to eating breakfast with stuff I brought from home nearly every day. That is really cool for such a short trip. It was a total blast and I look forward to doing it again.

Thanks, Brenda. I have never heard of a boniato potato, but then again, I am from a little town in Indiana :rotfl:. I love mashed potatoes but I am more of a garlic or cheesy mashed girl.

I really appreciate the comment on my weight loss! I'm so proud of myself for doing well. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life and I have just this year come to the realization that it will be a lifetime thing for me. I'm trying to take it slow and steady. It's great when someone else takes time out to say something complimentary. It really is encouraging.

"Another sangria! This one gets points for sheer volume." :thumbsup2

Kids Cheese Quesadillas - Flour tortillas filled with Monterrey-Jack cheese and served with Mexican rice and vegetables

"The kids went with cheese quesadillas."

Plato Vegetariano - Great combination of sauteed mixed vegetables (carrots, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, chayote, red onions, garlic and green onions), served over a bed of flour tortillas and black beans.

"I had the Plato Vegetariano. So much food!"

    "Somehow I missed DH's meal entirely." :confused3

Next was superchime's lunch update from Epcot's...

    First some menu pics...

"I was the only one who didn't get fish and chips."

    Kids Fish & Chips

    Adult Fish & Chips

Vegetable Stone Pie with mushrooms, onions, spinach, cheddar cheese and a side salad

"I had the vegetable stone pie, which was not what I expected but was still good."

"We also started with the cheese trio (no pic). The Irish cheddar with onion chutney was my favorite. There was also a blue-type cheese with nuts and a dill cheese with mini pickles."

"Oh, and my older DS has been listening to us talk about food all week and he wants to be sure I tell you that the Rose & Crown chips go especially well with ketchup." :thumbsup2

Then superchime's final update was from their dinner last night at the Caribbean Beach Resort's...

    Shutters

Shutters Salad - mixed greens, jicama, avocado, tropical fruit salsa, citrus vinaigrette and goat cheese

    Pelau rice

She said, "I didn't want the vegetarian pasta option again, so the chef came out to talk about alternatives. Very nice of him! :goodvibes I always hate to make a fuss over my food preferences but he was great. I ended up having the Shutters salad and a side of the pelau rice (which is vegan, if anyone needs to know). Both were great! The salad dressing was pretty spicy (by Disney standards anyway) and the rice had a lot of different flavors. It reminded me of peas and rice from the Bahamas."

    Kids steak and french fries

New York Strip steak with mashed potatoes

"Little guy had another steak and DH had one too. Older son had another cheese pizza but I photographed that last time."

"This was a great way to end our trip." :thumbsup2

superchime then added, "I grabbed a couple of surprise treats for the boys on the plane home."
