Because of so many poor reviews of Chef Mickey's, I am cancelling those reservations and switching to Boma, which seems more our style anyway.

Ohhh I don't know what to do!! My DD loves Mickey and Minnie (and so do I , though I'm not sure if she's even going to like the costumed characters yet lol) and we are staying at BLT so I thought Chef Mickeys breakfast would be perfect but these reviews I already have Crystal Palace, Boma, H&V and Kona breakfasts booked for our 12 day trip, maybe I will just skip CMs all together.

nanhol and her DH & 3 kids (DS14, DD11 & DD9) will be staying at the Beach Club from 2/3 - 2/7. They will be on the Deluxe dining plan and have lots of table service reservations. Then they will be back at Disney World following a cruise on the Disney Dream from 2/7-2/10. This time they will be staying at the Contemporary from 2/10-2/11.

We left Disney yesterday at 65 degrees and came home to 18 degrees. I'm ready to go back!

Really enjoying this thread, thank you to EVERYONE that makes it go! We leave in 3 days! Apparently we are doing a lot of meals that aren't as popular though. Oh well, just looking forward to the trip and seeing all these pictures is helping get other ideas! Thanks again everyone!

Our First Update of the Day was sent to us by a new reporter who (along with her DSis) arrived at Disney World last night, Ginamarie.


She said, "I couldn't convince my sister to go out to Raglan Road with me last night because she was "too tired".
So we wound up at the Caribbean Beach food court."




Old Port Royale

Chicken nuggets & fries and Pineapple-coconut muffin


Ginamarie said, "They were fresh, hot, unremarkable but good late night food for the exhausted sister.
The muffin had nice coconut pieces but no pineapple taste. Not bad though!"​

Note from jabead: This update was received from Ginamarie at around 9:30 this morning. Since I'm sure that many people do not realize that Les Halles opens earlier than most of the rest of World Showcase, this was probably an ideal time to visit the new French bakery. Great tip Ginamarie!

She said, "Our first day at WDW we HAD to have dinner at our favorite place...


Restaurant Marrakesh

Roast Lamb Meshoui - lamb shank braised in natural juices served with roasted eggplant puree, zucchini, and tomatoes over couscous

Lemon Chicken - braised half chicken with garlic, green olives, and preserved lemon


"DH had the lamb and I had the chicken. It was tender, lemony (I love lemon!!) chicken with mixed olives and olive tepenade. Served with potato wedges that soak up the salty, lemony sauce. I've been dreaming of this all year! If I could finish it, I would have licked my plate!"

Shish Kebab - grilled tenderloin of beef with rosemary roasted potatoes and vegetable medley


"Hannah (who is 6 but is an "adult" for dining), had the beef kabob. It was served with a mild tomato sauce and seasoned rice. Our server kept trying to offer less adventurous choices and sides, but she wants to try everything!"



On to the desserts...

Bastilla - crispy leaves of pastry topped with vanilla cream and sprinkled with toasted almonds


"I forget what this dessert was called! Layers of crisp pastry with vanilla cream. Griff thought it was weird but ate half anyway."

Moroccan Symphony - Assorted Moroccan baklavas


"I had the assorted Moroccan baklava, and ate every perfect, delicious morsel!"

Marrakesh Delight - fresh fruit salad topped with mint ice cream, toasted almonds and orange blossom water


"Hannah had the fresh fruit with mint ice cream. She was too full to eat much of it but it looked lovely."



"We loved the service, atmosphere and food here. The belly dancer was beautiful and Hannah loved dancing with her. We hope to also try the Tangierine Café on this trip too." ​

Tonight was my first visit to this thread. Oh dear, it is another one I could become addicted to! Since our next trip is just a little over a week away I started at the end of the thread for the most recent posts. When I got back to emmebear's photos from her Disney cruise I had to make a comment. That lovely shot of St. John was taken at a spot on the island looking over Cruz Bay and shows Gallows Point Resort. We stayed in one of those units as part of our 25th wedding anniversary vacation trip (taken a few months after our actual anniversary.)

When I last heard from the sisters, they seemed to be having fun at Epcot World Showcase.



Ginamarie said, "We had to stop in China for the Tipsy Ducks in Love. Delicious and very strong!
DSis had a Chinese beer, also good!"

And then they presented me with this riddle...

Ginamarie said, "I vote nachos!"

Le Cellier



First a few menu pics...

She said, "So sorry for the dark Le Cellier shots! We were way late getting seated and served so DS was melting down. We were also starving so we just dug right in! I had the filet, DH had the strip, and the kids had steak and fries. The restaurant really emptied out when we left at about 7:30."



"The food was great, service was friendly but slow. Would still come back! We also had some red wine with dinner and a Mickey ice cream sandwich with Illuminations, but the kids devoured it!" ​

Thanks for indexing the non WDW yet Disney related updates! Great idea! Gotta say that the work that you do to keep this thread interesting and fun is fabulous!

Trisha's CM review is a bit scary.... sorry that wasn't a better experience.

The pizza from Les Halle makes me want to ditch an ADR and try that instead. It looks really good.

Loved seeing the cruise photos from Emmebear! Looks like an amazing room, food, and fun! Awesome!

Speaking of emmebear and her cruise photos, she returned home yesterday and immediately began sending me many more fantastic pics! I'm going to try and get these all posted today and total her January game points earned. I am waiting on one last great update from tallen429 (from her dinner at Flying Fish Café) and then the January game will be concluded and the Top 5 winners announced. So with any luck, that could be yet today, but if not then hopefully early this week.

So let's now go back onboard the Disney Fantasy with emmebear, shall we?

We will begin with Brunch at...

"The breads are made especially for Palo!"

"The Alaskan King Crab Legs were epic! I asked for a side of melted butter."

"The Oysters Rockefeller and Chicken Parm were very good. The tilapia was gross but the risotto was scrumptious. The tilapia was very, very fishy. The Orecchiette Pasta with Salmon wasn't very good either. We split half portions of the hot food, as the portions were large."




And their "fruity" desserts...

"This brunch was the best meal of our trip and for $20, it was a total bargain! We had exceptional service and were never rushed. We also received complimentary mimosas, which was a nice touch."
