Oh, that's a great idea, Vicki! :thumbsup2 Ok, Plan A and Plan B in place. Now if I could just get my DH to make up his mind already!

But anyway, I couldn't possibly end this thing less than two weeks before the trip of one of my inaugural reporters.

    So March trippers...GAME ON!!! :cheer2:

Now let's get started with today's updates. :thumbsup2

Our First Update of the Day is also the final update from disneybride96, who's trip ended yesterday. :sad1:

She started with a snack update from Epcot's...

    Karamell-Küche

She said, "Three times we visited Karamell-Küche at Epcot's Germany Pavilion, so I think it deserves an update. First visit my DH got your basic caramel apple and I had the Caramel Apple Oatmeal cookie."

"This cookie is one of my new favorites. Nice juicy chunks of apple and lots of caramel."

"On another visit, My DH had this goody. I think it was called Werther's Crunchy Chew. Part candy, part cookie."

    "And last, but not least..."

disneybride96 said, "There have been lots of reviews of Via Napoli, and all the good ones were right." ;)

"Before we even had a bite, the place was beautiful. Yes, a little loud, but it is a pizzeria. The only time we found it too loud is when there was singing."

    Some restaurant interior pics...

Via Napoli's three wood burning ovens: Etna, Vesuvio, and Stromboli

The long communal table in the center of the main dining room.

Candele - candle stick pasta, sausage ragu, polpettine meatballs, mozzarella, ricotta

"DH is a pasta guy. Grew up in an Italian neighborhood and makes his own spaghetti gravy (don't call it sauce) from scratch. HE LOVED IT! So it must be good."

Quattro Formaggi Pizza with mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, and provolone cheeses

"I had the Quattro Formaggi. I don't know how white cheese pizza can taste so good. It really must be the crust. It was hot, and crunchy and chewy and tasty. Yumm." :thumbsup2

Tiramisu - Mascarpone cream, espresso coffee, lady fingers, and chocolate

"For dessert, I had classic Tiramisu. It was very good, but the "theme park" version that did not include dark rum in the recipe."

Torta di "Mamma Rosario" - Apple cake with almond sorbetto

"DH had this. He described it as an old world cake. Kind of a quick bread. He enjoyed it, but I saw other things I would have tried first."

"We have found another must-do for our Disney vacations!" :thumbsup2

disneybride96's final comments were, "Overall, only 2 places we found the food below par, Hoop-dee-do Revue and La Cantina de San Angel. We found several new ones to put on our favorites. Not a bad week of eating around the world." :)

The next update we received this morning was from hulagirl87.

She said, "We are at Hollywood Studios and stopped at..."

    Starring Rolls

"DH had a strawberry parfait and I had a carrot cake cupcake. Yum for both! I saved some cupcake for later, it was huge!"

Then we received several updates from marshallsmommy.

Yesterday they were at Animal Kingdom and had lunch at...

    Flame Tree Barbecue

"We had lunch at Flame Tree and we both had the chicken and ribs combo with one of each, chocolate and key lime mousse. The chicken was really moist, I was surprised by how good it was! The ribs were good but fairly small amount of meat on them. The BBQ sauce seemed like probably just Kraft or something similar. The key lime mousse was good once I took other DISer's advice and took the weird first layer off. Doug's chocolate mousse was "alright", so that means not that good!"

Then last night she had this treat from ...

    Starring Rolls Bakery

"I enjoyed a chocolate peanut butter cupcake. Wow, was that good! Not too peanutbuttery (is that a word?) or sickeningly sweet. It was great!"

"I also tried a frozen chai tea slush yesterday and it was just okay. Too sweet and generic tasting for me."

Then this morning, marshallsmommy and family had breakfast at...

    1900 Park Fare

She said, "We were there when they opened so we got really fresh food! The biscuits and gravy were good, the strawberry soup was different but tasty, the bacon was sad limp Disney bacon. French toast bread pudding with vanilla sauce was good and they had a caramel banana sauce for your French toast or waffles that was warm and good! I like that they had 3 choices of yogurt and tons of stuff to put on it. Oh, they also had gummy bears. Of course, Marshall loved them!"

    Next marshallsmommy said,

"As I update you today I am enjoying my all time favorite cupcake from Disney since I am a coconut nut."

    White Chocolate Elephant Cupcake
Rich chocolate cake filled with chocolate cream, topped with Buttercream frosting and toasted coconut

"This is soooooo good, YUM! :goodvibes I will give Marshall the elephant when he wakes up from his nap. I just like the cupcake." ;)

Then their lunch was from the...

    Contempo Cafe

Italian Stack Sandwich & House Chips
with Smoked Ham, Smoked Turkey, Salami, Cheddar, Provolone, Red Onion, and Sun-dried Tomato Spread on Ciabatta Bread

"Doug and I decided to split a sandwich from the Contempo Café for lunch while Marshall rests up for our last night here. We are doing the Dessert Party tonight, can't wait! We split an Italian stack sandwich with chips. It was pretty good. Fresh bread and lots of cold cuts. I took the red onion out of my half."

This was really fun! Thanks Barb! I can't even imagine how much work it is for you!
It's easy for me to text, but I can't imagine doing all the photo hosting. We won't be back to the world for probably 22 months, but we're doing DVC Hilton Head in October. Maybe some surprise updates from there!

I am sooooo happy that you will continue at least thru March! As others have posted, this is my very favorite thread on the Dis! Getting to be a part of it again will be an honor!

And you should just do what I do ... tell DH what days to mark off on his calendar, make all the plans and be done! ::yes:: ;)

And now we have an update from DaisyluvzGoofy, our new reporter from...

    Disneyland

She said, "My DH and I LOVE eating at The Plaza because the portions are larger than most, price is comparable to a local restaurant outside the park, most seats outside give you a great view of the fireworks, AND they give free refills on drinks!!! (DH is also a big fan of Coke Zero and this is one of the few places that has it, which makes him extra happy!)" :thumbsup2

"Both DH and I had the chicken and shared a slice of carrot cake. He dug in before I could get my first picture. This was a good time to remind him that things will be changing from now on and he'll have to wait!! haha! The chicken was good, but not as moist as some trips but still my favorite meal in the park. I couldn't finish my whole portion so I gave half of my largest piece to DH. He was a happy camper."

"The carrot cake was very moist and neither too sweet nor too heavy like some cakes. The cream cheese frosting wasn't over powering either. DH was very happy with his meal and sat patiently waiting for me to finish mine so we could share the cake."

"I included a pic of Small World Holiday because it's my favorite holiday attraction at DL, they keep it up until the 22nd because it takes them about two-three weeks to take it all down." :sad1:

"That's all for now, we'll be heading in today for our reservations for the Golden Horseshoe Review Annual Passholder reserved show! I'll send some pics if I can!" :)

Our long awaited visit to Epcot and Magic Kingdom arrived yesterday.

We started at Epcot, and immediately hit the new version of Test Track. When we finished there, DH was in the mood for fish and chips, so we headed for England. We had two baskets of fish and chips ($9) and DH and I split a souvenir stein of Bass Ale ($11).

DS headed to France to pick up his favorite chocolate crepes ($5 each).

After Soarin', we headed to Magic Kingdom.

Our reservations were for 9, but I wanted to see if we could check in early and be seated early. When checking in, we had no issues, although I did have my ADR confirmation on my phone just in case. After waiting for 25 minutes, I did stop a manager to ask if there was any way to know how long we would be waiting. I learned that checking in early rarely does you any favors, as you will be seated soon after the reservation time.

We were called soon after, and led into the West Wing dining room. The lovely Kristen G. was our server and she was excellent. Because I had marked allergies on the reservation, the chef soon came out to talk with DH and DS about their mango allergy. DH had unsweetened tea, DS had an Arnold Palmer, and I had coffee and water.

We ordered the charcuterie platter ($16) and the mussels ($12) as our appetizers.

DS ordered the pork rack chop.

DH had the steak and I had the salmon.

For a birthday surprise, I received the grey stuff! Mocha mousse with sugar pearls.

DH had the chocolate cream puff, DS had the triple chocolate cupcake, and I had the lemon meringue cupcake for dessert.

It was a lovely meal. We had only one complaint, some servers were having a rather large argument a few feet behind me, but that was resolved soon. I have some bonus pictures of the restaurant.

I neglected to mention the Main Street Bakery was closed for renovation, so I was very sad.

On the bright side, I walked right past the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party, so I know where to go next month! :thumbsup2
