Hi, I know this has been asked before but I cannot found the thread - so sorry for asking again what is probably a silly question - but when we have booked CRT for breakfast and will get into the park early do we also need a park ticket to stay the rest of the day or does the CRT reservation also get us into the park...thanks

Your ticket to MK will get you in early - and you can use it all day, Louisa. You'll use your ticket to get into the park early - there will be a special gate to enter thru for people with reservations before the park opens. Have your reservation # for CRT handy - sometimes they ask for it and sometimes they don't.
You will be able to take a break from the park and come back later, if you would like, too. You just won't be able to go to a different park (like Epcot, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom), but you can enter & leave MK as many times as you want.
    HTH
    Have a great time!

Louisa....you will need your park ticket to get INTO the park for your reservation, but once you are in you are in. Are you referring to a hopper? As if staying after breakfast would be like hopping to a different park?

Your reservation itself is not a ticket to get into the park, you have to have a ticket to the park to enjoy your reservation.

OK - so I need a ticket for entry to the Park as well as my reservation for CRT - the reservation for breakfast is not in itself a ticket into the Park - is that right?
So if I was just having breakfast that day and not planning to do any of the rides would I still also need a park ticket for entry??

    Yes Louisa, that's correct.
How many days will you be at Disney & how many days are you planning on visiting 1 or more parks? Do you plan to visit each of the parks? Maybe we could help you figure things out.
Disney, the parks, and tickets can be confusing!

That would be great - I am a bit confused. We plan on going to AK, Epcot and HS for one day each. With MK we will be there 1 day which we have booked breakfast at CRT and then we also plan on doing MNSSHP on another day. I believe we get entry into the park at 4pm on that day - do I need a park entry ticket for that as well? I would also like to do the Terrace Dessert party on our last night but do not plan to be in the Park for the day we hoped to just be able to arrive for the party and watch the fireworks however if we need a park entry ticket to do that then we may rethink it. We have a few days up our sleeve and thought we would see what parks the kids would most like to go back to and have another day at that park. Hope this makes sense . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

According to the days you have listed, you need a 5-day pass, plus a MNSSHP ticket - 9/15 (Animal Kingdom), 9/16 (MK), 9/18 (DHS), 9/19 (EPCOT), 10/1 (MK for the dessert party) & a MNSSHP ticket (9/20 or 9/29). (I'm not sure how the expiration dates work on the passes when there is a cruise in the middle...)

Yes, you would need a park ticket to get in the park for the Dessert Party.

Any time you're going into a park for a reservation or ADR, you need a park ticket to get into the park.

For MNSSHP, you need a separate party ticket. Although the party officially begins at 7:00 pm, traditionally party-goers have been allowed into the park beginning at 4:00 pm w/ just the party ticket.

I don't know what type of tickets the OP would be getting, since she is coming from overseas I believe.

But if you had a standard sold-in-the-US MYW 5 day ticket, it appears that you would have to also purchase the non-expiration option to make it last for your entire trip the way you have it currently planned. MYW tickets are only valid for 14 days, unless you add the no-expiration option to them.

That may not apply to you though.

And of course, even if it did, you may be able to arrange your days in a way that all your Disney park days fall in that 14 day window.

OK Louisa, I'm going to give it my best, but I'm NO expert, so I hope someone will jump in if I say anything incorrect:

First of all, it looks like you're only planning on visiting 1 park per day and not purchasing "Park Hoppers", right? (Park Hoppers give you the option of visiting more than 1 park per day, but they cost about $57 more per day - whether adult or child.) And before I go any further, Cheshire Figment has a very detailed post on everything you could ever possibly want to know about WDW tickets. It's entitled "Everything About WDW Tickets" and is a stickey at the beginning of the Theme Parks, Attractions, and Strategies Forum. There is a wealth of info there - I had to read it repeatedly to fully understand the nuances - so don't be afraid to ask questions there if you need something clarified.

So it looks like you'll be needing tickets over a 17 day period. BTW - you have a wonderful trip planned - congrats!
During that time you will need park admission on 7 different days:
    1. Sept 15 - AK
    2. Sept 16 - MK (including CRT)
    3. Sept 18 - HS
    4. Sept 19 - EP
    5. Sept 20 - MK for MNSSHP *You will need to have a ticket for admission into the MK as well as your ticket for MNSSHP*
    6. Sept 29 - MK for MNSSHP * See above*
    7. Oct 1 - MK for Terrace Dessert Party - again, you will need an adm tix to MK
The only problem is, tickets are only good for 14 days after the first use, (unless you purchase the "No Expiration" option which is an additional ~$190 per adult & ~$152 per child) so you may want to try switching some of your plans around, if possible. That is, if you use your first ticket on Sept 15, the last day you could use the rest of your tickets would be on Sept 29, if I'm not mistaken.
Is there any chance you could visit AK while you're at BLT? Then your first use day wouldn't be until Sept 16 - stretching your valid days until Sept 30. That would also entail moving the Terrace Dessert Party back, if possible. Could you move that to one of your BLT days as well? It's a short walk to MK from the Contemporary - about 10 minutes, I think.
I can certainly see why you planned the parks the way you did, but I'm not sure that you realised the tickets were only good for 14 days from first use...

BTW, if you haven't purchased your tickets as part of a package, they are a bit cheaper thru Undercover Tourist. You'd have to sign up for a newsletter at Mousesavers.com and in that is a link to Undercover Tourist.

I've probably made this as clear as mud, so please ask and I'm sure the experts on here will chime in for you.

Looks like you already got 2 answers before I finished typing mine! :disrocks:

I read your post wrong & thought you were going to MNSSHP twice - but now I see it's only once, so the first one would be the better option to stay within your 14 day expiry window.

But, unless I'm missing something else, I think you'll need 6 tickets.

Thank you so much for your replies - it is very confusing however we are not set on what parks we would be doing - I am happy to move things around if necessary. I have read some conflicting info regarding MNSSHP and whether I also need a park ticket that day,we would only be going in for the party not before if that makes any difference. I haven't purchased any tickets yet so will have a look at the undercover tourist site and non expiry tickets which may be better for us.

If someone could please clarify for me the MNSSHP day that would be great

She does not need a park ticket for a day when she is only going to the MNSSHP. Only a party ticket.

For the party you do not need a separate ticket IF you are not visiting the park before the party starts at 7. They sometimes will let you in with only the event ticket after 4 pm, but they may make you wait.

Louisa - I just looked at the policy for MNSSHP and you will be given entrance to the park after 4pm for the event. You do not need a ticket for park entrance that day for the MK unless you are planning on being at the park earlier than 4pm. I hope that helps to clear things up for you.

    Hi again Louisa,

As others have explained a CRT reservation does not include park admission while a MNSSHP ticket does.

Also as mentioned, the issue you are going to face is organising your timetable so your park tickets don't end up costing you the earth. Adding the non-expiry mentioned will add almost $200 to each person's ticket, which IMO, is quite a bit of money.
Here in Aus and NZ the tickets we buy are the same as the US ones and they expire after 14 days. If I was you, I would spend my first 3 days doing things that didn't involve park admission. Perhaps go to Downtown Disney, MNSSHP (it looks like there might be one on the 17th) or perhaps Universal or Seaworld. If you start using your Park tickets on about the 18th, this should get you through to the end of your stay.
My first suggestion would be to see if you can move your CRT reservation to a day closer to your cruise so it fits within your ticket days. A strong rumor was announced today that free-dining is going to be offered during your pre-cruise dates. This means that restaurant reservations are going to become very hard to get. The sooner you can lock in your reservations the better.

You got most of your answers, I just wanted you to be aware that you can have the desert party during the MNSSHP, that would eliminate doing it on a night you do not have a ticket for, also you stated you might do it twice so the first time you could not do the fireworks and spend more time at the rides, the second time you can do the desert party, they do offer it during MNSSHP.
