Day 7.12

Now we were approaching the end of the tour. We did end up on a balcony outside with some nice views.

I thought I would be artsy. I failed. LOL.

Then it was back inside.

Now we had to walk through several rooms to exit. I lagged behind a little because I had to take photos.

They had a model of Firenze. Very hard to see in the pics.

With that we were done. It was a great day of touring and the last tour guide was good but I wish he would have kept his arm down more. Everyone else loved him. We were now hungry.

I have no clue.

We had to walk back to the hotel but it was easy enough being we were by the Ponte Vecchio.

I think this is where we crossed over because the sidewalk was so small.

Look what was on the side of a bus.

I loved the garbage cans there.

We then came to this restaurant which I had seen before because it was right by our road.

We looked at the menu and then we went in. They sat us outside along with others.

I guess this was good wine and that is why I took a photo.

I split a margherita pizza with Lorraine and it was so good.

For dessert I had the nutella crepe. Not sure if Lorraine split it with me or not.

After dinner we went back to the hotel and we had to pack because in the morning we were catching a train to Roma. I know I did get iced tea at the store again and then went to sleep early.

Day 8.1

it is a new day and we were traveling today. I believe we had breakfast first and then we all got ready to go to the train station.

Soon enough we were at the train station. Some of us walked and some of took a cab. It was a little crowded here.

Group meeting? LOL.

All alone.

But soon enough our train came and it was time to board.

Now I did make a boo boo here. I brought Vinny to the wrong car and we were sitting in the wrong seats. LOL. We did find the right car and we were on our way. Might have happened to Lorraine too. LOL
The Italian countryside.

it was a nice morning.

Every once in a while the screen would show a camera as we were moving. It was cool to see.

Looks like an old wall or fort.

My eyes are bad and I cannot tell if those are cows or sheep. LOL.

This is the stop before ours.

We were going to Roma Termini.

Then we arrived.

This train station was a little far to drag our bags so we got 2 cabs. Within minutes we were there and checking in.

Scott, I am finally caught up here to. Have to second Kathy's comment that it was hard to read with the light coloured font.

It is so funny to see a "foreigner's" opinion on our neighbouring country and its beauty. I had Tom watch over my shoulder and his comment was - yes, that is Italy.
We are so used to all the art that it doesn't stand out so much to us. But thanks for the reminder!

LOL. I get that because I am the same way when people come to NYC and see it and I am like, okay it is the city. If you live there it becomes just everyday.

There is artwork everywhere there.
Not sure but I looked up "David" and it took 3 years.

Sorry been MIA. Had to go see the family in West Virginia before we move next month and had a nice visit with them.

Day 8.2

Once we were all together we went into the building. The building houses several hotels so you have to buzz the one you are staying at and tell them your name.

The elevator is very small and so some used it and others went up the stairs.

I see you Lorraine.

Here is the elevator.

We all checked in and the owner of the hotel was there to assist and she was wonderful. Her name is Barbara and I cannot praise her and her husband enough. Then we went upstairs to the floor (the check in is on 3 and our rooms were on 5) and we got to see our rooms. We passed a special area but I will get to that in a few minutes.

Next to us was barbara, Jeff and Lorraine then down the hall was Donna & Mark. We said we would meet up and relax a bit. I scheduled a tour for us later that day.

Now the part I said we passed was a terrace area which was fantastic. Here is the table you can eat at.

We sat down and had ourselves some wine. I know they gave us 2 bottles but not sure if this was them or if this was from the winery. I think it is was the winery.

The wine was from the winery we had lunch at a few days before.

Then it was time to head out. Mark had a photo done first.

Day 8.3

As I said earlier I scheduled a tour for this day because it just fit in. let’s see how that worked out. We decided to walk to our destination.

A small church.

I forget what this building was.

We continued walking and was getting closer.

We then walked down stairs and were soon seeing a lot of ruins.

Here is the area we were in.

Looking down the road I saw our destination.

Then we were there.

We walked around looking for the tour group we were to meet.

It was a warm day.

We found out where we had to go and soon were there.

They did have scaffolding up which was not flattering but hey what can you do.
