Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby Feed the Force!! A May 2015 TR - Update 10/29 Trip Epilogue!

Haha, so jealous of your comic con adventures! DH was dying to go....kind of a long way from Vancouver ;-) I told him, one day for sure though! We've been to the one in Seattle (ECCC) and it's so much fun!!! You saw some amazing outfits...what the heck was with the ziptie guy though? Um....ouch??:crazy2:

Congratulations on your wedding!
That's so funny! Maybe you guys are in some of my pictures! I had this happen a few years ago too, someone on the DIS was writing a trip report the same time as me and we realize we literally did the same things on the same day.

Hope you had just as much fun as we did!

I'm all caught up now!!!!!

I looked for myself in your pics and didn't see anything but I still think its funny we basically had the same day. I kinda wish that we had splurged and had done the feel the force package but we spent that money on doing the wild Africa trek at AK another day and it was insanely fun so I'm not that upset.

Being from RI my wife and I were lucky enough to go visit the Pixar exhibit at the museum of science too and I have to say I was blown away by the science behind everything that goes into making one of those movies. The amount of effort the artists put in is crazy and just all around awesome!

Yeah some people's outfits were kinda nuts. I think he just wanted to stand out - but sacrificed comfort for doing so! Oh well, slave to cosplay! :rotfl:
Comic cons are fun! I've only been to ones in NY though. I also went to an anime con but it wasn't as fun.

That's really funny. You should check your pics to see if any of us are in them Haha. :lmao:
Oooh wild Africa trek! Is that like a private safari ride?

I know, wasn't it so awesome?! I loved it! :thumbsup2

The Wild Africa Trek is pretty much KS on steroids lol... its about 3-4 hours long with a nice lunch/breakfast (depending on the time you go) in the middle of the tour. The first half is mostly a walking tour through the hippo and croc exhibits. Your hooked into a harness and you get to walk over the exhibits on the rope bridge they have. The second half you get into a truck similar to the ones you would get on for KS but a lot roomier and you basically go thru the entire trail but the driver will pull to the side to get pictures and so the guide can give you more information about that animal. It was such a fun thing to do and I highly recommend it for sure.

Looks like you had a great time at Comic Con. Gonna have to get me some of those light saber earrings, love them and I know what they are ; ) And you should totally be han on your cruise. Easy and awesome all in one.

But my favorite is the picture of you and Chunkysis with "minnie mouse" who looks decidedly like Monica Lewinsky to me ; )

Wow that sounds like a lot of fun! I'll take a look at that tour. Thanks for the info!

I got my lightsaber earrings on amazon. They weren't that expensive either.
I'll think about bringing a costume. I am just not sure I want to bother with dressing up. I am more of a character-inspired person (i.e. t-shirts and tanks), rather than full-blown cosplay. We'll see.

But my favorite is the picture of you and Chunkysis with "minnie mouse" who looks decidedly like Monica Lewinsky to me ; )

Haha you're right! She's like a taller Monica Lewensky!

Day 8 Part 4: THE END of our Epic 2015 WDW Vacation

It was later in the afternoon at this point and the park was really hot and crowded. We had only one more FP+ for 7DMT. We were still in Tomorrowland but we were getting really tired and sweaty...so we decided to do the Peoplemover again which is always not too crowded and it's a favorite anyways. (Sorry no pics on the ride as we were just exhausted). Then we hopped into Carousel of Progress which was really nice as we could just sit in an air-conditioned room and and close our eyes and hear the music..

:charac2::rockband: "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow...":charac2::rockband:

Amazingly CS ended her character hopping. Think she already managed to get everyone's picture! We did get some PP pictures with the 24 hour clock mural they had. It was right outside Carousel of Progress and the line was not too bad. We did not coordinate poses, obviously. They just told us to act like hands of a clock, but we were just all over the place. :rotfl:

What time is it? We are obviously not great at depicting time.

Before we left Tomorrowland, CS and I split a Mickey pretzel from Lunching Pad. Mmmmm.

We went back to Fantasyland for our FP+ for 7DMT. The standby line was about 100 minutes. Nuts. But yay - not for us. With FP+, we had minimal waits.

Chunkysis finally removed her sweater. Don't tell her if you see her. She'll kill me for posting this pic. :littleangel:

I decided that I was hungry enough to split a pork shank with DH so we headed to Gaston's Tavern again. There we shared a pork shank which was as good as it was the first time. So tender and falling off the bone. And yes, yet another Lefou's Brew. In all honestly since me and DH share the brew each time, we technically only had one each that day. :)

I can't remember taking a picture of our pork shank this time so I'm re-using the one from earlier that week. FYI, it looked exactly the same! :laughing:

We had a few moments to spare before we had to head out of the park, so we decided to sit somewhere and watch some of the Festival of Fantasy parade. It was really hot standing outside though and we kept trying to find a place to stand that wasn't in the sun. I feel like they do this parade during the hottest time of day! We finally ended up at the Tomorrowland Terrace sitting and cooling off in the shade as we watched the parade from a distance. Not the greatest view, but I really did not feel like moving at all.

Just sitting down at the Terrace, I almost fell asleep. I was literally exhausted. I think it was a sign that it was time to go. I was ready. It was a fantastic vacation but I was ready to go back home and go to sleep.

We walked back to the front of the park, and you know that we're done and tired when we did not stop for any PP Pictures (not even CS)! :scared:

We trudged back to Gate 34 at the far end of the bus stop and waited for a bus to take us back, which I did think came pretty quickly. It was really nice being in an air-conditioned bus. I felt really gross because of how hot it had been that day. Then I had an idea. :idea:
I had kept a bag of my toiletries in my carry on bag, and I can quickly use the showers that were by the pool! Yes! Good plan. But towels though...since this is a value resort there are no pool towels and since we checked out already it's not like we have access to any. So I went up the concierge to ask if we could take a shower. The very nice cast member said, Certainly! I'll be right back with towels! :yay:

I got a bunch of towels but only DH and myself were showering as CS was in the gift shop going crazy for last minute items.

Whew, gross-sticky-feeling-on-a-plane-crisis averted! Oh but we had to be quick...only 45 minutes until ME arrives! So I go first, while DH watched the rest of our carry ons. I went to use the showers near the cozy cone pool that I had discovered earlier that week as it was less crowded. It was empty in the locker room and so I was able to get in and out and dressed again, in about 18 minutes. :cutie: Then I watched the bags while DH went.

Wow that was one of the best decisions we made, to shower right before we boarded a flight. I felt so squeaky clean and best of all, cooool.

:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

When DH was done, we grouped up with CS and waited out front for ME and it finally arrived! (maybe a few mins late)

We were so tired, and ready to leave WDW, but it was truly one of the best Disney vacations we've ever done.

We got to the airport uneventfully. I did not think any of us stayed awake to watch the ME video. When we got to the airport, we headed up, checked in, went through security and headed to the shops/food.

See ya in February 2016 Mickey!

We ate dinner in the food court (Chick Fil-a for me!) and shopped around a little bit. I changed my outfit from my dress to some cropped pants and the purple tshirt I got from Tren-D in Disney Springs.

We boarded the faux monorail to take us to the terminal and we were surprised about how empty it was. Guess most people were coming to Disney, not leaving.

My expression kinda sums up what I felt...tanned, satisfied, happy, and exhausted.

It had been a long almost 2 week trip and I felt it was the right time to go home. Usually you'll see me kicking and screaming when we depart on our last day. I never want to leave!
There were so many things I wanted to do but never got a chance to on this trip. I guess that's why we keep going back to the magic of WDW!!

At 7:30pm, we boarded our United Airlines flight and headed back home to New Jersey.

:sad::sad::sad:

Let me just tell you...it was the best feeling ever to sleep in your own bed. :cloud9:

THE END

:flower1: Thank you EVERYONE for reading this long-winded Trip Report!!! :flower1:

Think she already managed to get everyone's picture!
I wouldn't doubt it. That girl was seriously committed to character photos!

We did not coordinate poses, obviously. They just told us to act like hands of a clock, but we were just all over the place.
This picture cracks me up. Especially love hubby's pose. He was really committing to it.

There we shared a pork shank which was as good as it was the first time. So tender and falling off the bone.
This looks absolutely delicious. We usually get Gaston's in the morning for a cinnamon roll (and of course LaFou's) but I never think about going in the afternoon. Gonna have to fix that....

It was empty in the locker room and so I was able to get in and out and dressed again, in about 18 minutes. :cutie:
Impressive!

I think you truly are the happiest person I've ever seen leaving disney world. I'm never anything but depressed, but maybe if I can convince hubby for a 2 week trip we can turn that around ; )

Thank you EVERYONE for reading this long-winded Trip Report!!!
Thank you Su-Lynn for sharing with us. Truly loved your report and all your fun adventures.

Good idea to use the showers before your flights home! I know that exhausted-but-happy-from-Disney-trip feeling. And I agree - a good night's sleep in your own bed is quite a treat! ::yes::

I've really enjoyed following your report and look forward to following along on your epic birthday trip too! :goodvibes

I've really enjoyed this trip report Su-Lynn! It looks like you had an amazing time! What an awesome thing that you were able to shower before catching the DME, that's brilliant! I hate feeling sweaty and gross, especially on a plane!

I can't wait to read all about your trip coming up in Feb!

Pretty awesome last day. Glad you were able to enjoy a few things like the Peoplemover, CoP and Mine Train despite the heat and crowds.

Great place for watching the parade. I think your vantage point was pretty good and being able to sit down, out of the heat must have been fantastic.

Yum on the last minute snacks- the pretzel, pork shank and LeFou's brew. I made it to the outside of Gaston's Tavern on the class trip when I was solo in the MK, but I haven't been inside yet.

Really smart move deciding to shower and refresh before your flight.

Your sum-up selfie in the faux-no-rail is awesome!

Thanks so much for your fantastic report!

:goodvibes:

What time is it? We are obviously not great at depicting time.
:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

We walked back to the front of the park, and you know that we're done and tired when we did not stop for any PP Pictures (not even CS)! :scared:
::yes::

:yay:
:dancer: Good thinking!

Wow that was one of the best decisions we made, to shower right before we boarded a flight. I felt so squeaky clean and best of all, cooool.

:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:
SO much easier to relax when you are clean. ::yes::

See ya in February 2016 Mickey!
:wave2:

Comic Con in NYC !!!!!! Awesomeness!!!! DH and I were toying with the idea of going this year, but it snuck up on us and we couldn't make it.... booo! Next Year! We live 45 min North of NYC.... It's a Small World After All :)

She was. She's gonna go nuts on the cruise!

I know! He looks like he's trying to poke my sister, or hack off her head or something. :rotfl:

Mmmm, cinnamon roll, gotta get me one of those next time!

I think it was the fact I was so tired that I accepted the trip was over and that we did have some amazing experiences. but yeah, 2 weeks immersed in WDW is just the right amount I think.

Thank you Su-Lynn for sharing with us. Truly loved your report and all your fun adventures.

Thanks Kari!!

Thank you!! Yeah it was the best feeling ever. I now know we are able to do that even when we've already checked out.

Thanks!! Looking forward to really getting that PTR going, especially with FP+ coming up in November.

Pretty awesome last day. Glad you were able to enjoy a few things like the Peoplemover, CoP and Mine Train despite the heat and crowds.

Yes! Luckily we did most things during the early hours.

Great place for watching the parade. I think your vantage point was pretty good and being able to sit down, out of the heat must have been fantastic.

We didn't actually have a good view, I had to zoom in with my camera since the terrace is pretty far away, but we were out of the heat, and sitting down so it was fine.

Yum on the last minute snacks- the pretzel, pork shank and LeFou's brew. I made it to the outside of Gaston's Tavern on the class trip when I was solo in the MK, but I haven't been inside yet.

It's delicious! I highly recommend Lefou's brew. Although not quite as electrifying in color as that blue drink one of the kids in your group had on your YES trip!

Really smart move deciding to shower and refresh before your flight.

OMG best decision ever!

Your sum-up selfie in the faux-no-rail is awesome!

Hahaha...yeah I did get caught up in the moment.

Thanks so much for your fantastic report!

Thanks for reading Dee!

Yay, great end to your TR!!! Good call on the shower, too! Nothing like travelling and already feeling gross.

Well this has been fun and I can't wait until your next TR for your Feb trip, in the meantime I'll keep following along with your PTR :mickeyjum:goofy::donald:

YAAAAAY! I loved your TR! Usually coming to the end of a TR is so sad, but in this case, I totally relate to your sentiments about being exhausted and satisfied and now ready to be home. I felt like that in Sept 2014. But I also think that's a sign you did your vacation right!!! The perfect balance! :cutie:
