Child of 13 becomes a father

im forever telling my D15 to wait and not to ruin her life by having early sex, at the moment she is listening but with storys of this nature its becoming harder to teach teens, its better to wait than ruin their lives..!

This has actually disgusted and angered me.

What on earth is the world coming too, babies bringing up babies.

I remember a comedy programe on the telly, it was when gordon brown wanted all school folk to stay on till they were 18, some one said, yeh well whos gonna pick up there kids from school, sad but true

It's certainly a shocker, the boy doesn't even look 8, let alone 13!

Goodness knows where these kids are learning all these things at that age, when I was 13 I was still playing with toys!!

Strange how society has changed so much in such a short amount of time ( as I'm not too old, yet! :lmao: )
Thats what I thought.

When i was 13 i was still watching Animals of Farthing wood, not planning a baby.

Did they sell the story for money? Or did the Sun get tipped off?

Me too, I am 38 and still terrified to get pregnent!!!:confused3 lol

I dont mean to be mean but they look to stupid to have sold there story.

I think it is disgusting but I have no answers.
Well I do but I aint gonna post them;)

This isn't anything new.. my nephew became a father at 13 a few yrs ago=the mother was 16..

I hadn't heard this story so my only knowledge is the two links posted:thumbsup2

I am shocked but as Matt says, I doubt it's an isolated case.

I was happy playing out with my friends, going swimming training and being taught the history of London from the top deck of a routemaster bus by my fantastic Grandfather at that age.
Note the pattern in that statement, all those activites involved the care, involement and guidance of my close family members. I loved music and was allowed to attend concerts during school holidays, I was treated quite fairly at that age (later it changed) and I responded by respecting my parents wishes. I would NEVER have got up to what they did.
Goodness knows how these children have been brought up. Just think, it's quite possible for this baby's grandparents to be no older than thirty:scared1:

When DH and I bought eldest DD home from the hospital that first night, we looked at each other and were petrified of being left alone with this little baby, I was 31 he was 35 for goodness sake! Imagine how these children feel about having a baby to care for.

Sadly I wasn't surprised to hear about these young parents, but that boy hardly looked10, nevermind 13 :sad2:

As an aside, I heard a story on Radio 2 a couple of days ago where 3 children were taken into care by the local council because of a misdiagnosis of one of the children, which has now (a few years later) been accepted as a misdiagnosis and the courts have ruled that as the children are in adoptive families they will be left where they are and the biological parents are helpless to alter the situation.

I read about this too Matt, and I was really shocked that the kids weren't going to be returned to their parents :sad2: :sad2:

though we have role reversal now as I'm 25 next week, they're wanting to know when they're ACTUALLY going to get a Grandchild  I've told them they have to definately wait until after Florida next year :lmao:

Ditto! Im a year younger than you but get the same thing lol! Funny though my excuse was they will ahve to wait until after my cruise :lmao:

It is so shocking though, that being said my parents would never have let me have a boyfriend stay over at that age!

Do you think they get it though? probabaly not, ignorance is bliss.

He does look very young ! i think this story is horrific and a sad indication of our society today :headache:

i wonder how much they were paid for their story :headache:

It did makes me feel physically sick,I have a 9 year old daughter and to think at that age some children arent thinking of who's playing out,or whos collecting these cards etc makes me worry.:headache:

This is crazy!! And I cant believe the pictures the Sun has got them posing in this morning!! Holding the baby whist playing the playstation its just sickening!!

You can rely on the Sun for considered undramatic journalism!

I'm 100% sure it's nothing new. A boy was expelled from my friend's primary school for having sex in an empty classroom with a girl who had left the previous year - he was 11, she was 12 and that was in 1973...

Personally, I became interested in boys from around the age of 13 and at 15 was dating the boy who became (and still is) my husband - I'm very glad no one locked me up... ;)

You can always rely on the Sun for a touch of Class! :lmao:

i know were all shocked by this news, but would it have been the same if it was a girl of 13 with a 15 year old boy? yes there would have been but not as much.Seems in our society we would not be as shocked by teanage pregnencys than a underage dad.Looking into the story the girls family remind me of the shanon mathews case.
i recall my mispent youth ie all nighters at wigan casino at 14,plus outher things.
Our minds get selective and protective as we get older, as if any of my kids did what i did as a youngster i`d kill them
Paulh

:lmao:

Awww - I was dating my husband at the age of 16. :goodvibes

He was 12 & she was 14 when they conceived - I know it happens but it's just so wrong. :sad2: I have a 12 year old nephew and just can't imagine him even being interested in girls...or boys for that matter! :rotfl2: ;)

Not saying that having kids at 13 is 'normal' or what anyone should do but i'm only 24 and remember girls in my school being interested in boys even in year 5 of primary school and losing virginity at 13 or 14 wasn't particularly unusual either. I hate the Sun and this article is pretty much testament to why, typical 'this country's going to the dogs' tabloid rubbish to make the readers feel superior.

A big bit off topic, but did you see that story about the poor baby that got killed by the 2 dogs.

The Parents put out a statement saying for others not to leave babies with dogs no matter how nice they were as it it could happen to anybody.

OK thats true, but it did not happen to anybody it happened to them cause they were stupid enough to leave a tiny baby in a room alone for god knows how long with 2 terriers for god sake. One originally bred for hunting and one for fighting:sad2:

I know both breed can be lovely but dogs are dogs.

Never mind the dogs could have killed the babe by knocking it off the TABLE it was on.
