    Hello All,
So we are gonna be on the Jan 12 sailing of the Disney Magic from galveston. :cool1: This is a 6 day cruise. This is the first Disney cruise that we are doing thats not 4 days. I understand that there a Character Breakfast on teh 7 day cruise. Does anyone know if they have it on the 6 day cruise? If so, what do I have to do to go to the CHaracter Breakfast? Where do I sign up?

Also, Have read that theres a Tea with....Alice/princesses etc. Same question....is that available on the 6 day cruise and where do I sign up??

    Thanks

While I don't know for certain about the 6-night cruise out of Galveston, the character breakfasts are only offered on the classic ships when there are at least 3 at-sea days. If you have 3 at-sea days on your 6-night cruise, then it's possible there would be a character breakfast. You are assigned the date/time.

You can ask Guest Services about "Tea with..." and get a ticket then if offered. You can't sign up for it pre-cruise but you would need a ticket in advance.

    Enjoy your cruise!

Yes, the 6 night Galveston cruises have been having the Character breakfast. You will be assigned to a specific time/date based on your dinner assignment. It will be noted on the ticket in your room that has your dining rotation on it.

Don't know about the Tea with .... I haven't seen any reports of it.

This is wrong. The 7 night Galveston cruises have had character meals. The six night only have two sea days, therefore no breakfast. I think the January cruises are the first six night out of Galveston?
They did have Tea w/Alice out of Galveston on the seven nights in November. My DD liked it very much.

    Quite right:

    Day 1 Galveston
    Day 2 At Sea
    Day 3 At Sea
Day 4 Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
    Day 5 Cozumel, Mexico
    Day 6 At Sea
    Day 7 Galveston, Texas

I read a report on another board on a 6 night Magic out of Galveston in December. They had the Character breakfast.

You are assigned to your Character Breakfast based on your dinner assignment. It will be noted on the ticket in your room that has the dining rotation printed on it.

If the Tea With ... is being offered, you go to Guest Services to get tickets. They are free but limited. If you get tickets and opt not to do the tea, please return them, there's always a waiting list.

    Yes.

Every guest is scheduled for a Character Breakfast. Not every guest goes.

Just back from the 6night new years cruise from Galveston. There is a character breakfast -- it's assigned like your dinner rotation.

We did not do the tea with Alice.
Have cameras ready -- they cycle them pretty quickly and the professional wasn't there for our breakfast (or at least didn't get to us).

We had assgined late dinner seating, our Character Breakfast was 9:45am.

We were on a 7 night out of Galverston. The first sea day was for those with early dinner. The second sea day was for those with late seating. You will have it in the restaurant you are eating in that evening. The tickets were in our stateroom with our other dining rotation information. I believe everyones time was 9:45. We had a table for ten and only four of us showed up. We did enjoy it.

Not quite right. The character breakfast is held in Parrot Cay, typically the first sea day after you eat in Parrot Cay for dinner. Early seating is at 8:00 am and late seating at 9:45 am.

I don't really see how they could just make all early seatings be at one breakfast and all late seatings be at another. Yes, not everyone shows up, but they need to be ready for everyone to show up.

How was your cruise? We leave out of Galveston on a 6 day cruise on January 12. I see you said you didn't do the Tea with Alice, but did they offer it? Do you have any tips? This is my 3rd Disney cruise, but first on Magic. Thanks.

This was our first cruise ever -- I had an impression it would be more relaxing but we found ourselves almost in theme park commando mode getting the the kids from one activity to another that we thought they would enjoy (when really, they just wanted to play with the bunk beds).

Looking through the Navigators, Tea with Alice is listed in the first day's (embarkation day) Navigator's. Says to stop by Guest Services, limited availability.

This being our first cruise, I don't know if it was typical, but the first full sea day out of Galveston and the sea day returning were quite choppy -- hopefully related to the cold front and not normal.
I was concerned that the Magic would be run down being the old ship -- but she was in good condition and we were happy.

I also thought the Galveston terminal would not be themed at all -- but it was. Inside the terminal there were disney banners and you could do the kids club registration from inside. They also had Minnie available for pictures (that might have been for repeat cruisers as our regular line didn't take us through it). And then during the sailaway, the terminal crew were out there waving with Mickey hands.

The Magic was pretty easy to navigate. We didn't do any menu breakfasts/lunches except for our character breakfast. The food was decent -- the best was at Lumiere's. Parrot Cay you can feel the ship vibration the most (that was a problem for me). Animator's Palate, the back panel of the little Mermaid doesn't seem to function properly.

The kids LOVED Jeff Teveggia (Juggler) -- if he's still on it and you have kids, make sure you catch his Family show (his adult show is good too).

This hits the main things that stick out -- was planning on posting a separate thread on thing I learned.

This is our first disney cruise and just wondering what goes on at the character breakfast and tea with Alice. I assume you can meet characters/alice at both. Any other special activities? I think we can only expect our 2 year old to sit still for so long on the cruise so just trying to determine which one she would enjoy the most. Thanks!
