changing discount for room only

If I book now with the current room only promotion and after the Dec promo expiration, they release a better one, how much of a hassle is it to rebook to get the new discount applied? Would I lose my deposit?

If I want to add DDP to the room only ressie, since there's a change I may re-book (if a better discount comes out) so I just wait until later to add DDP?

For the first question, you can use MDE to change the discount rate if another comes out - it's easy.

For the second question, if you add DDP it becomes a package rather than room only reservation, you have to pay 45 days in advance. You can still have the room discount - I think it's better to do earlier rather than later.

Note if you have AP the only way to add DDP is on phone and my advice is do sooner rather than later as they have to cancel your reservation and make new one.

If a better discount comes out you can have the new discount replace your current offer, but your resort and room category have to be included and there has to be availability. Do it as soon as the new discount becomes available because rooms are limited and already having a room reservation does not guarantee that you will get the new offer.

You cannot add the dining plan to a room only reservation. Dining plans can only be added to a package reservation so you will need to book the package and cancel the room reservation. Your room only deposit will be refunded and a new package deposit of $200 will be required. Paid dining plans require a 1 day ticket for everyone 3 years and older in the room, but if you already have tickets you can call and book a ticketless package. The deadlines, modification and cancellation penalties are very different between room only and package reservations.

Yes, you can book a discounted room only reservation and add dining. It is called a Ticketless Package and is subject to the rules of a regular MYW booking (room, tickets & dining). You can't do it online. You need to call in to book it.

Thanks for the info! I just booked the ticketless package on the phone and the call with the CM was really quick. Everything showed up in MDE immediately after.

I've never booked everything separate before but got the Undercover Tourists tickets this time to save some money. All worked out. Now I'm hoping there's a better room only discount coming out after December that I can take advantage of.
