I didn't see this on any of the stickeys. I was just reading over the dining reservations that I made this morning and the ones which required a credit card say that the reservation needs to be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance in order to avoid a cancellation fee. Is this new? I thought as long as you cancelled 24 hours in advance, you would avoid the cancellation fee. :confused3

It depends. I think that the dinner shows, F!, and maybe CRT have different cancellation policies. What reservation says 48 hours?

The reservations I made this morning for Be Our Guest & Cape May Cafe say this "For dining reservations guaranteed by a credit card, Guests who cancel within 48 hours of their reservation time or fail to show will be charged a $10 per person fee for each Guest on the reservation".

I noticed this for BBB, PL, BOG, Akershus and Fantasmic! Dining as well, didn't pay much attn to the others, but I figured it's a new policy across the board - easier to keep track of for me anywho!

Yeap, just saw the same thing, I just posted this question on the Restaurants board, can't believe this, really?? 48 hrs (when I made the original ADRs last month it said 24 hrs)...but just checked my itinerary and it says 48 hrs. Wow, really, pretty soon they'll require pre-payment for ALL of the sig/character meals....:furious: ...just might cancel the few I have, a lot can happen in 2 days especially when traveling with kids.:sad2:

Wow, I have seen a few posts saying the same thing. I wonder if it is a policy change?

I just went on the site and walked through making a reservation for Le Cellier. The reservation information at that point says 1 day/$10 cancellation policy.

So I can't say which is correct, 1 day or 48 hours.

It was 24 hrs when I made my reservations for Akershus, BoG and Chef Mickey's - now they're all saying 48 hours.

If they did change the policy when you made your ADRS, but then change it but not proactively tell anyone, I think that's pretty rotten.

Hopefully they'll honor that 24 hour policy for any ADR made before the change.

    (or the day prior)...

OK just got off the phone with dining reservations and she told me there have NOT been any changes at this time to the 24 hr (day before) cancellation for the sigs/character meals.

She went on to say the only reservation that is a 48 hr cancel is the Fantasmic dinner pkg. (she did say they could be setting the system up to change the policies in the future, but since there has been no change yet any ADRs made up until any new policy changes would be honored under the current cancel policy).

She said they are making updates on the internet dining system so of course (as many of us already know) this may cause some glitches.

So I wonder which is more likely.....

that the Disney online system is wrong (say it isn't so!)

...... or that a phone CM gave out wrong information.

    Hmmmmm........

    The great quandaries in life..........

I think its a problem with the new my disney experience website.

When I view the recent dining reservations I recently made for October on my disney experience that required a credit card, the reservation has the statement about 48 cancellation notice. However, the e-mail confirmations that I recevied for the same reservations have the 24 hour cancellation policy listed.

So my guess is that its the new and wacky WDW website that everyone is having problems with. :confused3

Hmm... When I tried to make a reservation for Le Cellier, it says this...

A reservation guarantee is required. A cancellation fee will be charged to this credit card only in the event that your party does not arrive for this reservation.

It doesn't say anything about how much will be charged or how far in advance you might need to cancel it. Very confusing! Does anyone know the details? :confused3

This morning (4/28) I booked BOG for late October, and received email confirmation that reads $10pp charge is if we "cancel within one day or are no shows."

I confess I did not carefully read T&C on when making the reservation -- it might have said 48 hrs there.

I just made ADR's this morning. All of the regular ones that required a credit card said 1 day cancellation. The Fantasmic package was 48 hours.

    Where are you seeing this?
I am trying to look at my ADRs and the only thing it says is..
    I can't see anywhere that it says either 24 or 48?? :confused3

Is there another problem with the site again? I'm looking under My Disney Experience.

Where in your email confirmations does it give that info? All of my email confirmations simply have a link to go to the website, and that is where I now see the 48 hour info.

Which is in direct opposition to the terms and conditions I clicked to agree to just before booking.

When you are making the reservation, in the terms and conditions box that you have to agree to (by clicking in the box just underneath it), it lists 1 day/$10 cancellation fee.

When you click through your reservation email or reservation, that's where the 48 hour info can be seen.

I received an e-mail from Disney for each ADR I made. My e-mail confirmations do not have an imbeded link, each one includes the details of the actual ADR - reservation #, restuarant name, time, etc. Each confirmation says "There is a one-day cancellation policy and a $10 per-person fee will be charged if you cancel within one day of the reservation or are a "no show" for the reservation."

However when I view the same reservations on "my disney experience", the reservation says ""For dining reservations guaranteed by a credit card, Guests who cancel within 48 hours of their reservation time or fail to show will be charged a $10 per person fee for each Guest on the reservation".
