We just booked for our first Disney Cruise (or any cruise for that matter!), and will be traveling my husband I, and our will be, 6 month old son. We are on the Western Caribbean departing April 14. So excited!!

We are considering doing the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins Port Adventure, and carrying the baby in an ergo carrier. For those of you who have done this port adventure, do you think it would be doable with an infant? We would really like to see the ruins. My main concern is the heat. Is there any shelter?

Anyone do any of the other port adventures with an infant and have any recos?

    Thanks in advance!!

There won't be many that have done this excursion since Disney has only gone to Costa Maya 2-3 times in the past for special cruises. Till the Maiden Voyage at the end of march gets back there won't be much on Costa Maya.

You could try searching on cruise critic though....

BTW, I am on your cruise as well!

We visited there on our Magic Western cruise several years ago. We were there the first week in April. We didn't take the DCL excursion but booked a local tour. We were travelling with dd who was not quite 3 with us and she did fine. There was a little shop at the ruins where you could buy bottled sodas, juices, etc. and get out of the sun. I'd say 85% of the tour was in the shade. It was warm but not miserable (we are from FL so hot and humid to us is normal). We loved the ruins. It was my favorite excursion that we have taken.

Costa Maya was a regular stop with the 2006 double dip westerns. We did this excursion directly with Native way and while it was warm in December, there were several areas with shade, like the area that was like the town square. I would definite use some sort of bug repellant.

Also, don't expect a lot from the MV's stop at CM. They switched our time there to just a few hours in the morning so there isn't enough time to do this particular excursion, or at least how we did it on the private tour. It takes about an hour to get there from the port on the bus.
