What exactly is offered for conceirge? Is it worth the extra money? I love the space and that alone maybe worth but trying to convince DH is another thing...

By the way, I have never been on a Disney cruise so I am very new at this.

I have never sailed on DCL yet either. We are booked in a Cat 3 for a four night this September. From what I understand we will get priority boarding, the ability to make early reservations for Palos, etc. and concierge on board to help with planning. I anxiously await others posting any other things I forgot or don't know about. We are very excited about this cruise. The price is quite high compared to other lines but we (okay...I) am obsessed with Disney. Its going to be fun!

Just sailed on cat 3 for our first Disney cruise. Before our trip, we were able to make Palo reservations and I requested a dining rotation. At the terminal, there is a special line for concierge check-in. After getting everything in order, the cm escorted us over to an area where we could sit and wait for the boarding. At about 11:45, another cm came over and checked room keys. Concierge guests receive gold kttw. We were brought up to the doors and ended up being the first ones through and on board. After lunch, we met our concierge team in the Cadillac Lounge and they took care of registering our daughter for the kids club and any other reservations that we wanted to make. By 1:30 our stateroom was ready and it was incredible. We had our own doorbell and the room was very big. We didn't get one of the larger cat 3's that are near the elevators, but it was still plenty big enough for our family of 5. The concierge staff had left us a bowl of fruit, 2 bottles of water and 6 assorted sodas. On the second night, we were invited to a cocktail reception with appetizers and drinks. They also sent a beautiful tray of desserts to our room. On our final night, we received a plate full of cookies and they hand delivered our bill. I believe that standard staterooms get their bills dropped off in the middle of the night, so we had some extra time to look it over and make any corrections that were necessary before the morning rush. We also received a beautiful lithograph of the Wonder.

I've already put my name on the waitlist for another category 3 in 2006. It was a great way to travel.

Where is the Cadillac Lounge and is it called the same on the Magic? I thought we had thoroughly explored the ship but we must have missed it.

Also, how far in advance were you able to contact Debbie to set up Palo and dining rotation or did you wait for her to contact you?

concierge level service also includes the option of having massages on your verandah or in the stateroom (instead of in the spa) ... and you can order room service from the restaurant menus (not just the room service menu).

Luv 2 Travel, Regarding if Cat. 3s are hard to get, I think it depends on the time of year.
We have a Cat. 3 booked for a Sept. 05 cruise on the Magic - EC. I booked in May and had my choice of Cat. 3 Suites, of course I picked one of the larger Midship Suites.:p
I would call them and see what is available, September is one of the times that DCL offers some really good rates. I was very happy with the rate we got for our family of 5, much less than I had expected.

KaseyC, I am waiting to get my qoute from DU but they seem to be a little slow with getting back to me on CAT 3. All the other qoutes I have gotten with in 12 hrs.

Do you care to share your rate? If not I understand. We will be cruising (hopefully) with 2 adults, 1 4 year old and 1.5 year old at that time... I would love the extra space.

One last question, How can you pick out which staterooms are best? I am very new to investigating this so please bare with me...

We were able to book a category 3 in March for our May 27th sailing. I would imagine weeks like school vacations and holiday book up pretty quickly though.

There are four category 3 staterooms located in the middle of the ship. They have a different layout than the other rooms and they are larger. The stateroom numbers are 8032, 8034, 8532 & 8534. You can see them on the deck plans layout. Unfortunately, we couldn't get one of these rooms, but the standard category 3 was big enough for our family of 5. It was great being able to have 2 people in separate showers while one took a bath. It took us no time to get ready for dinner each night.

Sweetspot: I believe on the Magic, it's called Sessions and on the Wonder, it's the Cadillac Lounge. I called Debbie right after I made my final payment, so that would have been at the 60 day mark.

Luv2Trav, I sent you a PM with our rate.
I booked Suite 8032, this is one of the larger Cat. 3s with the Murphy bed in the Living Area instead of the bedroom and the triple length Balcony.

Ivanova-- I love the idea of a massage on the veranda. Did they offer it for couples also? I am waiting for 2006 to open up and I have faxed in my request to inventory control, We can't wait......
