I am having a hard time finding safety reviews on the bubble bum inflatable car seat booster. Have any of you that are technicians ever used one or heard anything about them. We are looking for a family member that has a child that is 6 1/2 years 50 lbs 49 inches tall.

Thanks

The bubblebum passes safety testing (even deflated, but it should always be used inflated). The testing is pass/fail, so you won't find much more info than "it's safe to use". If the child can sit properly in a no back booster (no leaning over, slouching, etc) then the bubble bum is a great option for travel. I'm a tech and know of many techs that use the bubblebum for their own kids when traveling.

The cat seat community loves the bubble bum, a quick google search of some of the popular car seat sites show how much this seat is regarded

We've owned one for 2 years & love the portability & ease of use. Hope this helps

Not a tech. We used one for my ds (he no longer needs a booster). Very convenient for travel, but he found it uncomfortable. I was also going to suggest checking car seat dot org.

We used the Bubble Bum for our last trip and purchased it specifically for the trip/travel. Very pleased with it, easy to use and daughter was comfortable. No complaints.

Not a tech, but we bought one to use for our trip and I am booster training a bit with DD now. We've used it a few times this week around town. While it is certainly convenient and will pack nicely in our luggage, it doesn't seem to have a lot of leg support. DD is on the leggy side, I think, and I keep having to remind her to keep her legs down; she wants to put her knees up and her feet on the seat and it makes the lap belt slip up on her tummy. When she sits properly I feel like it his her well though. She is 44" and 44 lb. My 6.5 yo nephew uses one full time, but I know his mom isn't big on car safety, so I don't know how it actually fits him, or how well he sits in it. I may ultimately get her something different before we go because we are planning to rent a car one day and do some driving around and I don't know if she'll be comfortable enough in it.
