Well I'm finally here to the end of my reviews. I hadn't done any in a while and I forgot how hard they can be.
So as I said in my previous post, eating at Beaches and Cream has become kind of a family saying goodbye to WDW tradition. We arrived a little after 12:30. There were a few parties ahead of us and she said it could be 25-35 minutes. I told her that was fine. We told her we would gladly sit at the counter, actually we would prefer it. We took the buzzer and grabbed one of the table with an umbrella so we could be in the shade and watch the pool, DS hit the arcade.
I didn't check my clock but I would say it did take areound 30 minutes to be seated. There was a table available or three spots at the counter, we asked for the counter. We've ate here several time and have had Delores as our server all but a couple of those times. We always remember her but she never remember us, which is totally understandable. Well low and behold if this time she didn't remember us. Finally after all these times.
So I guess the disappointing part of this is I forgot to take pictures of our entrees. I just totally forgot. The good part is I at least got pictures of dessert.
I will go ahead and review what we ate though.
DH got a cheeseburger. He says this burger tastes different than other WDW burgers. You can taste the freshness of the burger, that's the words he just used. The meat is cooked fresh and the bun was toasted right in front of us. I asked DH if it was a regular white bun or a Disney wheat bun. He wasn't sure. I thought B&C was one of the places that still had a white bun but DH can't confirm. Overall a good burger
DS and I got the roast beef sub, I got mine without the peppers because I don't like cooked green pepper. The sub was good but I do think it had less meat on it than in previous trips. When they bring it out it's kind of laid out flat, I always have trouble folding it up into a sandwich. This time I didn't have any problem doing that. It was still good. It reminded me of a philly. I've never had a real philly but it did remind me of the versions of other phillys I have had.
WE all enjoyed out food. Now on the the real reason we go to B&C.....DESSERT.
No Way Jose
This is like the greatest dessert ever. Chocolate and vanilla ice cream with hot fudge and peanut butter. Then of course whipped cream and chocolate and PB chips on top. I never thought about melting peanut butter and putting it on ice cream, but since the first time I had this dessert it's basically all I think about. I love this dessert. To me it's unique because I've never seen melted peanut butter as an option. Usually I get extra but this time I forgot.
Banana Split
DH watched them make this. They put hot fudge and caramel in the bottom, just drizzles not swimming in it (DH's quote). Then the banana on top of the sauces. Then it was just the normal chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream. Pineapple on the vanilla, strawberry on strawberry, but instead of chocolate on chocolate they put marshmallow cream on the chocolate. Then the whipped cream. Just a typical banana split though. DH thought it was interesting the way they put the sauce in the bottom and the marshmallow cream on the chocolate, it's just different.
Chocolate Milkshake
DS got a chocolate shake. It was fine, nothing special. Just a shake made out of ice cream and blended instead of ice milk out of a machine. You get what's in the glass plus whatever is left in the metal mixing glass, there can be almost as much in there as in your glass..
Overall Thought and Opinions We love Beaches and Cream. I'm not sure why, thy food is good but not spectacular. I think it's the feel of the place. Just the feel of being in a small ice cream shop with a grill that just cooks the basics. We love it when we can sit at the counter and either watch them cook or watch them fix the ice cream. I also like the oldies palying on the jukebox. Also I think part of the reason is just so we can go to Beach Club and smell that Beach Club smell. I was glad that Delores finally remembered us
. As I said, this has become a family tradition and will continue to be.
