The CP typically starts the Friday after Thanksgiving and runs through 12/30.

Historically, celebrities start being announced around late June with the dinner packages going on sale sometime in July. And there will be many dates without a celebrity listed, i.e. TBD - a favorite of all of ours. It's not uncommon for the celebrity dates to be rescheduled or they cancel and are replaced at the last minute.

How necessary is the dinner package? If we don't do the dinner package how early would we need to get in line? We will be there 11/30-12/6. Thanks!

I'd like input on this too! Haven't been to WDW during CP season for many years but will be there 12/1-10 this year and want to see CP again.

Last year they gave out standby wristbands at 1pm. It was awesome! They just told us what time to return and we bypassed the lines and went right in. I don't know if they'll do it again this year though.

Based on the lines I have been seeing, you want the dining package. They get first priority into the theater and haveentered on the left. Stand by enters from the right and fills in remaining spaces. While they have done wristbands in the past and is likely they would do them again..... chances are you'll want to eat at EPCOT anyway

My last trip was December 2013. I didn't do the dinner or anything, but I hung around the walkway past the area the show was going on just to hear Dennis Haysbert do his narration one night.

Thanks. I know we will want seats so I am leaning towards the dining package. What I hate is the kid's menu choices in so many places. Chefs de France - breaded chicken and hamburger - really???? Marrakesh - burgers and chicken strips???? I wish I could pay for one adult meal for them to split instead. Maybe we will do the buffet at Biergarten. I can always cancel if it sounds like they are doing the wristbands again.

It's just like any other ADR. You just have a credit card guarantee and you only get charged the fee if you are a no show or cancel less than 24 hours in advance. Other than that, you pay at the restaurant and get your pass from your server.
