Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

:wave:I read it! Too many 10 hours at work. Kids home from school for the holiday.
I know excuses
Planning on reply now

Okay, so there are some women out there
who are able to tear their eyes away after only 10 hours!
At least that's what I think you meant.

:rolleyes1

That's so weird! That's exactly how I'd describe you!
Well lookie there...
We agree on something.

You're better off.
Figured as much.
So I shouldn't go back and find it after I get home then, huh?

Afraid so. I have a weakness for a beautiful woman.
And darn it! They're all beautiful!
Yes... yes they are.

(that's twice I've agreed with you... we may be getting into the territory of initiating another curse of some kind; could be a devastating event.)

Plus I knew that Kay was going to sleep in today.

Eventually, Kay figured she was ready to go and we set out.
We arrived at the Pop bus stop at 2:54pm.
Talk about just hanging out at the hotel! She did ask/warn you. I didn't fall off my chair but I think my jaw hit the floor.
I didn't give Kay a choice on this one.
We rode Green
Another new ride to do. Kids were too small. Have to remember do green.
Kay's favourite dish (or one of them, at least) is spaetzle
Duh! Of course, you make this for her
Wine connoisseurs are jerks.
If you are a wine connoisseur, I don't mean you.
A group of us girls at work would get together at someone's house and each bring wine. Sometimes we'd have a theme. Most of the time the bottles were picked because of the name or as one girls would do "It had a pretty label"
Connoisseurs we were not, just the winos
She suddenly clicked!
"Oh! It's Venice! I remember that!"
Thank goodness! Might have seen a Pknodz eye roll if she hadn't

Okay I fixed multi-quote. Yea me! Am I no longer trouble? Heck no!
Page is running in media and it's taking forever to type because I get a blue spinning circle and keyboard locks up
Yes this has taken me 30 min to type
Guesses:
3 parks
You seem like a waffle kind of guy
Kays pixiedust is back and her band works
B. Watch otters
Okay this swallow question... Is this something I'm suppose to know, like was taught in school? You must know the answer so you can educate us with you knowledge. I'd say it is an impressive amount since it's a major subject on the best TR ever! I do think this makes my head hurt and please just push me over a bridge!

:faint: Nope! Well, that's why I do rope drop.
A 5? Really?

Well he said he guessed it was a five in his video but then when they analyzed the numbers they called it a 10. I would hate to think wall to wall people was the new 5.

"little glittery foldable ballet flats".

O. M. G.

Is the OMG because I wore inappropriate shoes or because of the girly overload?

Have I mentioned that you're smart?
And you have excellent taste, too!

Yes you have and thank you!!!

I wholly support this practice.

Maybe you can convince Ariel to ride Splash with you on your next trip. They maybe she'll flash the camera. If you bribe the cast members they might let you keep the picture.

Bet you were curious to know what went on behind you.
Man, I would've been ticked if our Chinese food photo hadn't shown up!

I would have been SO mad!!!! You would have had to go on again. That picture was too good to not exist.

Weird, when I replied to your post some of the quotes got dropped...

 When did it dawn on you guys? Who noticed first?

I think my sister tried it and thought it was bad so she asked me what I thought. I tried it and didn't notice. Then my dad tried it and said it was fine. My husband took some and grimaced immediately. Then my mom agreed. I'm not sure why we ALL had to try it. It was one of those "I can't believe how horrible this is, here try it!" moments.

Did you know that Pop pipes music around the pool...
starting at 9am?

Nope! But now I do, thanks!!

We arrived at the Pop bus stop at 2:54pm.
(And yes, I did fall out of my chair when I read this)

2:54!! Wow, kudos to you! I wouldn't have been able to take it... sitting in a hotel room during park hours is like pure torture. At least the rain made it a bit more bearable.

Bummer that you didn't get a photo of Kay's Beverly reaction... but yeah you're right, that would have totally gave it away. Good thinking!

I don't remember much from my first Disney trip back when I was five, but I do have some fond memories of Figment :figment:... actually, my souvenir from that trip was a gigantic Figment plush that I remember dragging home on the airplane. Anyway, back in May I rode Journey into Imagination for the first time since I was a kid and OMG.... it was awful! Really, really awful! What a disappointment! I completely agree that it needs to be shut down and redone.

Glad that you had a great meal at Biergarten. It's on my Disney bucket list for sure! The thought of sitting with random strangers is a bit of a turn-off for me though. Good thing you lucked out with at least one nice couple to chat with.

What a great TOT pic! I think I'd be too much of a chicken to not hold on.

Looking forward to reading more. :-)

Bonus questions, round 7!
How many parks do we hit?
(hint: it's between 1 and 4!)

My guess is 2!

We decide to have breakfast at Pop!
What do I have?

You're feeling pretty hungry so you have The Bounty Platter

Tapstiles.
Does Kay get stuck again?

Yup!

First thing we do after we enter the park.
Multiple choice!
Is it:
a. Take the train at MK?
b. Watch the otters at AK?
c. Ride Nemo at Epcot?
d. Frozen lemonade on Sunset Blvd?

B

What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Zero points if you answer 11 meters/second or
"African or European".
Points awarded for creativity and brevity.

Good luck!

Huh?

Well lookie there...
We agree on something.

You shouldn't.

Figured as much.
So I shouldn't go back and find it after I get home then, huh?

Let's just say it doesn't have quite the allure that the pillow fight pics did.

Yes... yes they are.

(that's twice I've agreed with you... we may be getting into the territory of initiating another curse of some kind; could be a devastating event.)

One more agreement is the first sign of the apocalypse, I believe.

Talk about just hanging out at the hotel! She did ask/warn you. I didn't fall off my chair but I think my jaw hit the floor.

oooohhhh... I did that once.
My jaw was sore for a week.

And yes.... I did have forewarnings.
Still.... Actually seeing it happen vs. being told about it.
Two very different things!

Another new ride to do. Kids were too small. Have to remember do green.

It depends on your "spinning" tolerance. I've never liked spinning rides.
Now I really don't like 'em.
But if you can handle them, the spinning (i.e. Orange) one would be better, I suppose.

All I remember was it was the longest ride of my life.

Duh! Of course, you make this for her

You remember that?!?!?

A group of us girls at work would get together at someone's house and each bring wine. Sometimes we'd have a theme. Most of the time the bottles were picked because of the name or as one girls would do "It had a pretty label"
Connoisseurs we were not, just the winos

Personally, I'd bet you probably had more fun than a hoity toity "connoisseur".

Thank goodness! Might have seen a Pknodz eye roll if she hadn't

Nah. Just a smack upside the head.

Okay I fixed multi-quote. Yea me! Am I no longer trouble? Heck no!
Page is running in media and it's taking forever to type because I get a blue spinning circle and keyboard locks up
Yes this has taken me 30 min to type

Ugh! It's not worth it! Next time, just read it and post a quick....

Oh, who am I kidding. I live for the comments.
But thanks so much for all the effort!

Guesses:

Okay this swallow question... Is this something I'm suppose to know, like was taught in school? You must know the answer so you can educate us with you knowledge. I'd say it is an impressive amount since it's a major subject on the best TR ever! I do think this makes my head hurt and please just push me over a bridge!

Noted. and... hmmmm..... "push me over a bridge". Methinks you know exactly what it's about.

Well he said he guessed it was a five in his video but then when they analyzed the numbers they called it a 10. I would hate to think wall to wall people was the new 5.

Okay, that makes more sense.
If it had stayed at a 5... what would a 10 even be?
They have dedicated CMs with large brooms to shove and pack the guests into the park?!?!?

Is the OMG because I wore inappropriate shoes or because of the girly overload?

Both!
First I was like  your poor feet! And then it was just... :sad2:

Pictures?

Maybe you can convince Ariel to ride Splash with you on your next trip. They maybe she'll flash the camera. If you bribe the cast members they might let you keep the picture.

Maybe I'll try that.
I can see the headlines now...
"Man arrested for making innapropriate requests with a semi-fish."

I would have been SO mad!!!! You would have had to go on again. That picture was too good to not exist.

Well, we did hang onto the boxes and chopsticks until we were sure the photo was okay.
But... Yeah. I don't think we'd be happy if we had to stand in line in that heat again,
just to get it.

I read this too!

 Yeah, but how long until you got to it?!?!?

Weird, when I replied to your post some of the quotes got dropped...

Oh? That is weird. Either you can or you can't (usually).

 No one ever goes "I believe you! I don't need to try it!"

Nope! But now I do, thanks!!

I wonder if I could get a grant from Disney or something.
I run an educational TR here for their benefit after all.

(And yes, I did fall out of my chair when I read this)

Sorry about that. Hope you didn't hurt your bum.

2:54!! Wow, kudos to you! I wouldn't have been able to take it... sitting in a hotel room during park hours is like pure torture. At least the rain made it a bit more bearable.

The rain did help... until it started getting closer to the time to go... and it was still raining.

Bummer that you didn't get a photo of Kay's Beverly reaction... but yeah you're right, that would have totally gave it away. Good thinking!

Sometimes you have to put caution before TRs.

I don't remember much from my first Disney trip back when I was five, but I do have some fond memories of Figment :figment:... actually, my souvenir from that trip was a gigantic Figment plush that I remember dragging home on the airplane.

Awwww... I can just see little Rachel clutching her giant Figment.

Anyway, back in May I rode Journey into Imagination for the first time since I was a kid and OMG.... it was awful! Really, really awful! What a disappointment! I completely agree that it needs to be shut down and redone.

Yep. The pre-show is way better than the actual ride.

And if you're trying to remember the pre-show...
There wasn't one.

Glad that you had a great meal at Biergarten. It's on my Disney bucket list for sure! The thought of sitting with random strangers is a bit of a turn-off for me though. Good thing you lucked out with at least one nice couple to chat with.

Sitting with strangers isn't really that big a deal.
I'm not a fan either, but you just do your own thing if you want.
Or don't. Up to you.

What a great TOT pic! I think I'd be too much of a chicken to not hold on.

 Try it! Just tell yourself that there's no way you can get hurt and let go.

Looking forward to reading more. :-)

Coming up soon. Got the pic on the laptop this morning.
Just have to crop it and upload it and the update's good to go.

My guess is 2!

You're feeling pretty hungry so you have The Bounty Platter

Yup!

Huh?

Noted. and... :lmao: sorry about that!

The VIP Package

Before I launch into the highly anticipated...
Eagerly awaited...
Endured endeavour...
I wanted to yap ad nauseum about a few things.

I love a captive audience.

Hey! Where are you going! I'm kidding! Kidding!
I love you guys!!!
(Dang! Close one. Almost lost everyone.)

Well, for the three of you that are still reading...
For the two of you....
For you...

A few peeps asked me if I ever fessed up to Kay
that it was indeed the Beverly that was the "bad" one
and that yes I knew about it.

Yes. Yes I did.
I believe her comment afterwards was:
"Why would you do that?"
"Because it's funny." I replied.
And it is.

Not so much for her, but she's young.
She's got plenty of time to get over it.

Several of you commented on my infinite patience that day.
How I was able to stay in our room until mid-afternoon,
with all that Disney has to offer just outside.

Well, I'm not that patient.
If I hadn't been in a few years, I would've told her
"I'm heading out. E me when you get up and are ready to go."
Ya snooze, ya lose babe.

But.

Since I'd just been in February, I didn't feel quite so pushed to
"Get everything done".
I'd actually gotten a lot on that wish list done.
Oh, there's still plenty left to do, but the drive was tempered a bit.

Plus I really did want to not repeat past mistakes.
When we were there as a family, I had us going from rope drop to close.
We only had five days and I wanted the kids to see as much as possible.

I believe it was on day three or four that Ruby revolted.
Her happiest day that trip
was when she stayed at the resort and did laundry.
I'm not kidding.

I had no illusions that Kay would do laundry,
but I also knew that she'd break down just like Ruby did if I pushed her too hard.
So when she said she wanted to relax in the room, I listened.
Did this mean we stood in lines (something I typically never do)?
Yup. But she was content, so... it's all good.

And finally.
Brussels Sprouts.

Many of you commented on those little bundles of wickedness and misery.
One of you (yes, you @DizzneyDi) even mentioned
they'd never even seen anyone eat one!
And I love you for that.
Or is that envy.
Maybe both.

However.
And brace yourselves... I'm going to shock you all...
For me, Brussels Sprouts and Disney are inexorably linked.

"What?" You exclaim in astonishment. "How can this be!?!?"
(Say you're astonished (feel free to paraphrase) and get free bonus points!)

Well I'll tell you.

Sunday was always special in our house when I was growing up.
Mom was a teacher and Dad was always busy with work.
But on Sundays, Mom would always make sure to cook a special meal.
Mmmmm... I can still taste some of those...
Pot roast, roast chicken, prime rib once in a while...
And always dessert. Mmmmm.... dessert.

And every meal had its food groups.
Ya gots yer salad, yer meat, yer potatoes and... yer veg.
I don't mind vegetables now. Some I even like.
Well... maybe "like" is too strong a word.
But back then? Not so much.
I'd eat canned beans (flavourless... probably why I ate them.)
Carrots were okay, even though my Mom's preferred way of cooking
all veggies was to boil them until they were reduced to mush.
Broccoli? Blech. Cauliflower? Double blech.
Don't get me started with asparagus.
And then there was.... Brussels sprouts.
I'm not kidding. I could choke down almost anything.
But those? My gag reflex would kick in.

Many's a time where I'd be sitting at the table, all alone.
Just me, an empty table, and an empty plate...
except for a lone Brussels sprout sitting stranded.

How many of you are familiar with the refrain:
"You're not leaving the table until you've finished your plate!"

How horrible a pronouncement that is!

I would cut a miniscule piece off that unholy orb and,
holding my nose with one hand and my fork with the other,
reluctantly place it... it in my mouth.
Valiantly, yet unsuccessfully trying to arrest the gag reflex,
I would somehow, after much effort, choke it down.

I would then sit there, in misery with tears streaming down my face,
until a parent would say, "Okay. Now the rest of it."

Are you kidding me???
They weren't.

So what does this have to do with Disney?
I'm getting there. Hang on.

On occasion, hmm... I can't say how often.
Too long ago.
On occasion, my parents would let my sister and I
go down to the basement to eat our Sunday meal there.
That's where our lone, black and white TV sat.
At the time, I remember thinking how wonderful it was
that they'd let me and my older sister eat away from the table.
Now, of course, being older and a parent myself,
I realize it was just their way of getting rid of their little hellions
so they could enjoy a nice meal with adult conversation.
But I digress...

My sister and I would load up our plates, head downstairs,
open up a couple of TV trays,
pull up a couple of chairs and...
Watch the Wonderful World of Disney!
How great is that?!?
Well, there was one caveat.
You had to have vegetables on your plate.
And every once in a long while, the dates would align,
and I would be allowed to watch TV (yay!) but
we would have Brussels sprouts for dinner (massive BOO!)

Eventually however, I came upon a solution.
It was simple really, and (in my mind) brilliant.
I would happily consume the wonderful repast at hand,
leaving nothing but the sphere of darkness on my plate.
Eventually, my sister would also finish her meal and,
at the next commercial, head upstairs for some dessert.

Quick as a wink, I'd grab the offending globule and pitch it under the couch.
Problem solved!
I didn't have to eat that... thing. And my parents didn't have to scold me.
Win, win!

And this worked for a while, too.

Until one fateful night.

My parents were downstairs watching TV.
My Mom says to my Dad. "What's that under the TV?"
At first they are puzzled.
A small, rock hard, misshapen, blackened ball.
I wonder what their faces looked like as realization dawned upon them.

My cat. My loyal, loving cat...
Had thrown me under the proverbial bus.
She had obviously found it under the couch and played with it.
Batting it about until it rolled under the TV and she got bored.
(In retrospect, I am pleased that someone or something if you prefer,
got some enjoyment out of the blasted thing.)

My parents confronted me with the evidence of my mis-doings the following day.
"So." They said. "Guess what we found under the TV last night."
I grew cold. I knew... I knew what they had found.
But I had to play dumb, in the hopes that they didn't know it was me!
"I don't know." I proclaimed. "What?"
"A Brussels sprout."

This was it. I was dead.
Goodbye cruel, Brussels sprouts infested world!

Luckily, however. The fickle finger of fate intervened.
My parents thought it was hysterical.
They imagined the cat playing with the sprout.
And they imagined me trying to get away with it.

I survived.

And I never had to eat another Brussels sprout again!

But to this day...
When I think of Disney.
I think of TV trays, Sunday night dinners and... Brussels sprouts.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

August 25th, 2015.

I woke up at 8:00am. We had some FPs for the morning,
so I was hoping Kay would wake up earlier than the day before.
At 8:50, I threw a bucket of water on her head and she got up!
Hmmm... her bed wasn't soaked... maybe I just called out to her.
Either way. She woke up. So it's all good.

I went down to the food court and refilled our mugs.
Another hot one today.
So pleased I get to start my day by traipsing up the stairs again.

When I got back to our room,
Kay announced that she needed more moleskin cut.
The scissors I'd been so smart to buy with the sewing kit
were now completely ruined.
I had foolishly used them to cut with, remember?

So I waltzed back over to the food court
and danced over to the gift shop.
There I borrowed a real pair of scissors
and cut the rest of the moleskin down to size.
I then returned said scissors and once more
scaled the stairs.

Okay. I've had my exercise. I need some sustenance!

When Kay was ready, we popped over to the Pop food court.
Kay had some chocolate chip pancakes which surprised me not at all.
I had something that I'd heard other DIS Poppers talk about.

IMG_0888_zpsdynln9ig.jpg

Pop waffles.

Now usually when I have waffles,
I like them with some fruit, a gob of honey and lots of whipped cream.
You know. Healthy.
So were they good?
Well, considering it was my first real breakfast at Disney....
Uh.... possibly ever... Yeah. They were good.
And fresh, too!
They had run out and were making them
as fast as possible when I got them.
Thanks. I prefer to wait a minute and get fresh
than not wait and get stale and/or cold.

When we'd finished dining, we headed out to the bus stop.
We arrived at the bus stop at 11:12am.
A bus was there waiting for us.
Which led to the Kay quip of the trip.
"You know." She said. "The VIP bus package really is a must."

:lmao:

Soon after, we arrived at the park.
And for a change, there was no tapstile drama.
Her finger worked!
(Hey, it's not often giving someone the finger works out well.)
Indeed, we didn't have any other problems from that point on.

Main%20Street_zpsxho1nsei.jpg

Ahhh... home.

So what was the first thing we did?

P1020942_zpsagqbctio.jpg

Hopped on a train for Frontierland!
We had a FP for BTMRR that was set to expire fairly soon.
So rather than walk it, we decided to ride in style.

DSC09638_zpsnnl9njo0.jpg

P1020945_zpswh6y6lfv.jpg

So my question for you is....
Why is that sign showing a hand pointing...
WITH ONLY ONE FINGER?!?!?

Hmmm... bit more crowded today...

DSC09640_zpsfgvrsjea.jpg

With wonder in our hearts, we set out and rode BTMRR.
I love FP.
I don't know what the wait was, but it looked long.
Suckers!!!

We popped off the wildest train in the west and zipped over to Splash.
FP!
Ha! Look at those poor saps in line!
Who would do that?!?!? (Disregard our previous day here. Thanks.)
We didn't do anything special for the photo this time.
We just relaxed and had fun!

After riding two of the top rides in MK with little to no wait,
it was time to reward ourselves... well, myself, with a treat.
And I knew just what I wanted.
But Kay wanted something else.
So we figured out a game plan and set out.

On the way we paused at the Golden Oak Outpost.

P1020946_zpsce9bikkd.jpg

I mentioned to Kay that I'd read that the fries here were really good.
But admittedly, I didn't know what "waffle fries" were.
We decided to continue on.
I think, knowing what I know now, I might have stopped here.
Maybe next time.

Definitely next time.

We continued on...
We passed the down-for-refurb POC.

P1020948_zpswiqy6fqj.jpg

I feel that they really should've taken down.. oh, say... Magic Carpets instead.
But noooooo!
Poor planning, Disney. Poor planning.

As we were passing the Tiki Room, Kay asked "What's that?"
I told her and she remembered it and wanted to go in.
Sure!
So we did.

DSC09647_zpsybh8xm6u.jpg

DSC09650_zpsx71d0w4o.jpg

DSC09652_zps2vj7yo1i.jpg

Possibly one of (IMHO) the least interesting attractions.
At least for me.
It has no nostalgic hold on me.
But Kay seemed to enjoy it, so I was happy we stopped.

We exited the Tiki Room and continued on to...
uh... wait.
My destination was surrounded by construction walls.
Oh, no. Dear Lord, no... wait...

I don't remember if I asked a CM for help or if there was a sign.

But I do know this.

Not one of you told me that Sunshine Tree Terrace and Aloha Isle swapped spots!
I should deduct 100 points from everyone!!

Really. No one told me this?
You wanted me to have a minor heart attack?
Is that it?
(Don't answer that.)

We reversed course and headed to the
(new to me... maybe to you, too)
Aloha Isle.

DSC09656_zpslkwboeae.jpg

DSC09657_zps0nkb488e.jpg

So... Kay.
Do you want a delicious, thirst quenching Dole Whip Float?
Or are you going to stick to your previous choice?

DSC09658_zpss5iduxkt.jpg

"Can I have a taste of yours?"

She's lucky I love her.
"Yes."

She'll stick to her first choice.

Moments later...

DSC09659_zpscrxpr5jf.jpg

Doesn't it look like it's glowing?
It should. It's the holy of holies of beverages, ya know.
And for the uninitiated...
Do not get a simple Dole Whip.
No, no, no, no.
You have to get a Dole Whip float.
Makes all the difference.

Sooooo good!
Especially, especially! on a hot day.

You want one right now, don't you?
Sure you do.
Go ahead. Say it out loud. "I want one."
Silly me. Of course you've already said it out loud.
You don't need any prompting from me!

I sipped my drink as we headed off to get Kay's refreshment.
We were passing by HM when we decided to pop into Momento Mori.
This was the result of that detour.

IMG_1048b_zpssneqfxlp.gif

I'm so happy... Look! I have hair!
Whispy... but it's there!
Betcha can't guess which is the "before" and which is the "after".
I know... they're both pretty scary, huh?

And here's Kay's.

IMG_1046b_zpsvu8z8nzu.gif

I think they turned out pretty good, don't you?

In case you're wondering, the process is a little time consuming.
First, of course, you have to pose for the photo.
You then have to wait about 15-20 minutes for it to be developed.
When it's done, the "spirits" make a little bell ring.
A CM will then show you your photo, so you can make sure it's okay.
So if you don't have about a half hour to spare, this won't be do-able.

Once we saw our photos and approved them,
we left them there to be delivered to the resort.
We then continued on our way to get Kay's drink here:

DSC09662_zps8li3qk2l.jpg

We also saw the Big Guy out, but the lineup was pretty long
and Kay didn't feel like waiting in it.

DSC09661_zpsxytgu1tz.jpg

We zipped into the Tavern via the side entrance.
(Which is really a second front entrance, I suppose.)

Kay took these shots:

P1020964_zpsuzof846o.jpg

From left to right you have Bambi's uncle, Pooh, Bambi, Fox (from the Fox and the Hound),
and Bambi's cousin, twice removed... (well his head was only removed once.)
Oh. And a dart board. Isn't that nice?
Wouldn't you love to be eating at the table directly below
when there was a game in progress!
It might be more thrilling than BTMRR!

P1020965_zpslvsokcbc.jpg

Continuing on another wall, from left to right:
Little John, Faline (Bambi's girlfriend), random bighorn sheep,
(what's with that, Disney??)
Robin Hood and of course, Bambi's mom.

I think it's wonderful that Disney has so many animals to cull...
er, collect from. Don't you? Doesn't it warm your heart?

We escaped the hall of horrors and ran up to the counter.

P1020966_zpswzjmpmhq.jpg

And Kay got what she'd waited so long for.
Even before we got to Disney, she'd been waiting for this.
LeFou's Brew!

P1020969_zpslq8zmrei.jpg

I'd like to say she loved it, but...
Well, this is a Disney TR, not a Disney movie.
She didn't.
She liked the foam a bit, I think.
But wasn't a fan of the liquid part of the drink.
She soon handed it to me.
I didn't mind.
It was hot and I sipped it (I had long ago finished my Dole Whip)
as we walked.

Walked where?
To our last FP of the day.

Space Mountain!
And it's not down for maintenance! Woot!

Let's see... how long has it been since I've been on it...
My neck was just getting better, so I didn't ride it in February.
It was down on our previous trip in 2009.
The kids were too little so I didn't go on it in 2005.
I do remember riding it with Ruby... so that's... 1992.

Needless to say, I remembered very little of it.
The loading area seemed to be different, but I really don't remember.
Kay wanted the front seat, so we asked for (and got) that.
Which may have been a mistake.
I had told her that it was a coaster in the dark.
But afterwards she said she was disappointed because
from her front seat, she could see the rails
and always knew where the turns, etc. were.

Still had fun though. But I'll take BTMRR over it any day.

After our ride through space, I told Kay
that I wanted to stop on Main Street to pick up some ears for Elle.
We each paused to take one last shot (for today)
of the castle on our way out.

Kay said she was hungry and I suggested we pop into Casey's for a hot dog.
That sounded good to her so that's what we did.
The place was pretty packed, but we got lucky and snagged a tall table just as
some people were leaving.
We had to stand, but at least we had some place to put our food.
We saw lots of people desperately looking for an empty table.

When we finished, I asked a CM where I could buy some Mouse ears.
"At the Chapeau Hat Shoppe".
Well, okay. I might have felt a little dumb.
Or a lot.
But at least I didn't have to look anymore.
I knew exactly where to go.
We got to the Hat Shoppe and picked out standard ears.
We debated a bit on whether or not to get those, but that won out.
I arranged to get Elle's name embroidered on them, paid for it
and told them to ship it to the resort.
Mission complete, we headed out of the park and up the ramp
to the monorail.
Next stop, Epcot!
Which would be our final park of the day.

There was a monorail, just sitting, waiting for us.
But just as we got to the top of the ramp and were about to board,
the doors closed and it pulled away.
Shoot! Don't they know we have the VIP bus package?
Hmmm... Maybe it only applies to busses.

I think that's a good spot to leave off for now.
You've all been good little readers and have had to wade through
an incredible amount of twaddle.

Next up: Epcot.

3. We get some snacks in Epcot! Two of them, each.
What are they?

Good luck!

But if you can handle them, the spinning (i.e. Orange) one would be better, I suppose
Haven't done too many spinning ones for awhile. Loved them as a kid at the fair. We were glad when our kids became old enough to go together without us. You go ride, we'll watch over here:wave2:
Ugh! It's not worth it! Next time, just read it and post a quick....
You're worth it. Am I right?
But I was so happy to get the quote feature back. They help me remember my comments.
"Everyone else can quote so why can't I!:badpc:

That was a good surprise! As I was posting, you put installment up!
You do know that this is part of my afternoon, when I get home from work... See what's going on with Pkondz:surfweb:

I just have to comment about Brussel sprouts.
Growing up, I never ate them. My mom doesn't like them, so we were never made to eat them. I grew up thinking they were evil encarnate, so I despised them.
Fast forward to last year:: My husband was telling me I just needed to try them once. He likes them, they are yummy and not as bad as I am imagining. So I get some from the store and they're buttery and a bit garlicky. And guess what? I actually didn't hate them! They were in fact delicious! Now, cabbage- that's something I am not a fan of, but will eat occasionally.

And how funny the cat was using it as a toy!! I was anticipating you saying that your mom smelled a horrid smell and that's how she found out.. The cat thing is way better!! haha ;)
