Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

Saw that... in between trying to post comments
on your first food update. :sad2:
'
But I only have one more TR to go now!

And there very well may be yet another tomorrow morning. It's a busy week coming up with more Group Project stuff and a couple of meetings. Plus, some Pinning Ceremony work (I have *no* idea why I thought being Chair Person was a good idea. :P ). June 10th can't come soon enough. Hopefully, this year, my son won't break his elbow and wrist on the day of my Pinning like last year.

Sorry to hear that.
You can share if you'd like to.
If you don't, that's perfectly okay too.

I/we got the call that my FIL's sister (husband's aunt) has reached the "actively dying" phase. I drove him the hour each way to say a final good-bye- hard for all of us, but very good for closure. He will not regret that he went. While not exhausted, it was a bit draining. I re-charged with family time...

Ugh, I remember when we got that call for Fran's om. I'm sorry for your loss, but she will no longer be in pain.

It must be because I responded to a couple of your posts on my thread today. :rolleyes1

And I replied to them as well!

And there very well may be yet another tomorrow morning.

:faint: Oh, well... I can handle it now.
I'm caught up!

 That'll learn ya!

June 10th can't come soon enough.

I hear it's going to be sometime around
the middle of the month this year.

Hopefully, this year, my son won't break his elbow and wrist on the day of my Pinning like last year.

Oh! I remember that.
Yeah, let's break someone else's arm this time!

No?

Sorry to hear that, but I'm sure you're right
about the closure and not regretting it.

:faint: Oh, well... I can handle it now.
I'm caught up!

We're even. But don't get too cozy; it lasts about 12 hours.

 That'll learn ya!

Someday, I will learn the art of saying no.

I hear it's going to be sometime around
the middle of the month this year.

Need me some of that <slow clap> you were passing around earlier....

Oh! I remember that.

No?

Yes! The people leaving their trash on CS places at Disney for others to clean up.

Sorry to hear that, but I'm sure you're right
about the closure and not regretting it.

I'm glad we talked him into it. Yesterday he wasn't so keen on the idea. But, when we told him that she was asking for him, he changed his tune.

Ugh, I remember when we got that call for Fran's om. I'm sorry for your loss, but she will no longer be in pain.

He actually got to the point of seeing for himself, not just seeing but really seeing, that she is having a hard time breathing and that going peacefully with her sons and their families around her would be a good thing. Today was the best thing that could have happened, but still hard nonetheless.

We're even. But don't get too cozy; it lasts about 12 hours.

Yup. Woke up this morning and...

Someday, I will learn the art of saying no.

Let me know how you do it.
I'm involved with something right now
that I have no clear idea how it happened.
And I'm not happy about it.

Ohh! Good idea!
"Hello! I hope you're enjoying your Disney visit!
I see you don't have the use of your arms
to pick up your trash that you left on the table.
Brutus over here will break your arm
so that everyone can see that it's useless... as are you."

I'm glad we talked him into it. Yesterday he wasn't so keen on the idea. But, when we told him that she was asking for him, he changed his tune.

Still tough, I'm sure.
But sounds like it was the right call.

Sorry kids.
No update tonight.

I was hoping to work on it during my breaks, but...

Kay's applying for her very first job tomorrow.
She's panicking about her resume.
(Having never done one, understandable.)
So I've been spending all my breaks helping her with it.

I did spend an hour or so this morning on the TR.
That combined with last night has it on a good start.

But it's gonna be a bit still.

Patience is a virtue.
And apparently a requirement around here.

Just means you have your priorities straight. Good luck, Kay!

I don't. Obviously. I'm having to drive up to Portland to meet the Keynote Speaker so I can properly introduce her at the Ceremony in front of 400 people. Still need to find a photographer, and meet with the videographer. Holy crap! Why? WHY did I do this?!!!

Hang in there. I know you're not happy about this "stuff" you're involved with. This too shall pass. Although it may not be soon enough for you to stave of grumpiness or busy-ness for a bit.

Ohh! Good idea!

I used to ask my kids when there were touching stuff they shouldn't (and have been told not to) if I should break off their arms and beat them with them. (All in jest with a smile on my face.) They got the subtle hint that they were about to get in trouuuuuuuble.

Still tough, I'm sure.
But sounds like it was the right call.

It was the right call. She passed away a few hours ago.

Good luck Kay!!! :flower3:

Good luck, Kay!

Thanks guys. Don't think she'll get the job, though
(although you never know.)
She pretty much wants a summer job
and they want a longer term employee.
We shall see.

Just means you have your priorities straight.

You're right! Ditch the kid
and hop on my Harley and head to Disney!

That's what you meant, right?

Because you have a kind heart and find it hard to say no.
Or... the mom in you sees that something needs to be done...
so you do it.

I need a good grump.
I'm due.

 I tell mine I'm going to beat them with a stick.

It was the right call. She passed away a few hours ago.

Wow. Good thing you went when you did.

Can you tell me if I've answered the bonus questions? I can't remember. I was dog sitting the last two weekends. Also went down to visit my mother. This weekend I'm going to Columbus for two nights with my friend and her two kids. Why are you so busy?

So are you coming to Cleveland? Is Kay going to Japan?

well caught up again. hope things slow down a bit for you ponzie,so happy to hear about the fund raiser being so successful.. now to head over to franandaj's trip reports and get caught up on those.
oh and on the all about me front, we got a room booked for Jan at wdw. rented dvc points and will be at Saratoga springs/ we tried for akl but no luck. but we have stayed at ss in the past (thinking 09) and it was pretty darn nice too, so super excited now to figure tickets and flights.
but this week a couple of nights across from dl to unwind from a very long and stressful school year

Because you have a kind heart and find it hard to say no.
Or... the mom in you sees that something needs to be done...
so you do it.

Some would just call it overly ambitious. Whatever. Stuff gets done.

"If you want something done (right), do it yo'self."

I need a good grump.
I'm due.

Time to go to bed. I mis-read that "gr" as a different vowel and almost died laughing. I was going to type, "don't we all?" here.

 I tell mine I'm going to beat them with a stick.

Equally frightening, and probably effective.

Wow. Good thing you went when you did.

For sure! Services Saturday- which we'll miss a wedding for.

Can you tell me if I've answered the bonus questions? I can't remember.

Yup! Both bonus points and regular questions
and lions and tigers and bears oh my!

I was dog sitting the last two weekends. Also went down to visit my mother. This weekend I'm going to Columbus for two nights with my friend and her two kids. Why are you so busy?

How do your cats behave towards you
when you come home from dog sitting?

And as for why I'm busy.... details shortly.

So are you coming to Cleveland?

Not any time soon I'm afraid.

Is Kay going to Japan?

We just finally got some information
(which I haven't had a chance to read yet)
and we're going to be filling in an application tomorrow.

And then we'll see.

well caught up again.

Well, I've fallen behind again.

hope things slow down a bit for you ponzie

Hopefully this weekend... maybe.... probably not.

so happy to hear about the fund raiser being so successful

::yes:: It was absolutely wonderful.
I'm so glad they raised so much.

Nice! I've never looked into renting DVC points.
I wouldn't even know where to begin!

Nice, too. Our school year goes for another month up here.
Summer is July & August. Then back at it in September.

Some would just call it overly ambitious. Whatever. Stuff gets done.

You're being modest my dear.

"If you want something done (right), do it yo'self."

Who do you call if you want something done wrong?

Time to go to bed. I mis-read that "gr" as a different vowel and almost died laughing. I was going to type, "don't we all?" here.

:lmao: I think you meant "consonsonant" and I think I know which one.

And I could use that too!

Equally frightening, and probably effective.

Nah. Now they just roll their eyes.

I think I'm busy. Too tired to know for sure.

So... quick hello.
I'm behind, well... everywhere.
But I came here first!

Still no update, sorry.
I've been too busy.
Doing what you ask?
(Well, specifically @orangecats2 asked)

You asked for it... here goes.

Tuesday up at 5am to let out
and feed the evil dogs and go to work.
6am - 2:45pm work. With a trainee.
2:45pm off work, have to go downtown
to pick something up.
Fight traffic and eventually do that and
get to Kay's school by 4:30pm
Take Kay to her first job interview.
Calm her down.
Afterwards, she wants a smoothie, get that.
Been burning the candle at both ends.
So I make an executive decision to order pizza.
Get home and Ruby says "Let's order pizza."
Man she's kinda scary sometimes,
but in a good way, ya know?
Order pizza, go fetch same.
Watch TV, eat pizza from oh... 6:30pm - 10pm?
Man this sitting down is awesome!
I should do that more often... doesn't last, though.
Up til midnight editing a couple of photos.
Up at 5am Wednesday to let out and feed
the evil dogs and go to work.
Work from 6:30am - 2:30pm
Working with the trainee is very tiring in itself.
2:30pm - 3pm drive from work to school to get Kay.
3pm - 3:30pm shop for groceries
(can't eat take out all the time. Had pizza yesterday.)
3:30pm - 5pm make and eat supper
5pm - 5:20pm get ready for dance recital
5:20pm - 6pm drive to recital,
drive around trying to find a &%$#*@ parking spot.
6pm - 10pm volunteering at dance recital
10pm - 10:30pm drive to work
10:30pm - 6:45am work... with trainee.
OMG, I'm tired.
6:45am - 7:15am drive home... really, really tired.
7:15am - 7:30am I think... maybe... I can rest?
I'm really looking forward to that 15 minutes!
7:30am - 8:00am drive Kay to school.
8:30am - 3pm sleep!
3pm - 4:15pm try to boost Elle's car
(she left her lights on.)
Boost doesn't work, drive to store,
get battery, replace same.
4:15pm - 4:30pm shave, shower, blah, blah, get ready.
4:30pm - 5:15pm run errand downtown and drive to recital,
still have to hunt for parking, but not as bad this time.
5:15pm - 5:30pm wait in car for doors to open.
5:30pm - 9pm volunteer at recital. On my feet whole time.
9pm - 10pm Elle and I starving, grab a quick meal at local
restaurant and then go home.
10:30ish pm - 1am sleep. Wake up because tummy wobbly
(Something didn't agree with me, it happens.
I'll spare you the details.)
1:30am - 5:30am sleep, get woken up by call from work.
5:30am - 6am shave, shower, blah, blah, blah.
6am - 6:30am drive to work
6:30am to present... working.
Forecast for the rest of the day:
2:45pm get off work
2:45pm - 3:15pm drive to school, pick up Kay.
3:15pm - 4:15pm get Kay home, take care of dogs, get ready for...
4:15pm - 4:45pm drive to dance recital
4:45pm - 5pm I may just sit in the car once I've found a parking spot.
5pm - 10:00ish pm. Volunteer at recital.
10ish pm - 10:30ish pm drive home.
11pm sleep?

Weekend..... oh Gawd, who knows.

You could talk to me :)

So nothing strange or unusual happening to make your life crazy, just everyday life and the trainee kind of doing it to you. Hang in there. Hopefully you'll get some sleep soon.
