Our flight arrives at MCO at 5pm. We are using Magical Express, staying at Pop Century. How possible is it to make it to a 7pm Chef Mickey reservation that night? Thanks for your help!

It will be very, very tight, and not likely enough time. I would try to move it to a later time or even another day. If you try it, do not take the monorail. Just bus to MK and walk (or take a cab), but again, it will be very tight.

IF (that's a HUGE if) the stars align and there are absolutely no flight delays and your DME bus is ready to pull out of the airport just after you get to the DME area and there's no line to check in at Pop and either the MK bus is waiting at the stop for you or you take a taxi then you MIGHT make it on time. If I was a betting woman, I'd bet you wouldn't make it.

Chef Mickey has a $10 per person credit card guarantee. I wouldn't risk it in your circumstance.

Yeah, I agree that you're going to be cutting it really close. The general rule of thumb is to allow about 90 minutes from when you deplane to when you get to your resort. After that, you have to check in, drop your carry-ons off at your room, and then get to CR. The other rule of thumb is to allow about 45 minutes to get from any resort to a theme park. I wouldn't risk it because more than likely, you wouldn't make it. I generally assume about three hours from when you deplane to when you arrive at a theme park (assuming no major delays).

If you really want to eat at Chef Mickey's, I'd search for a much later ADR.

Agree with previous replies that its likely not possible in that time frame. We always fly in on the first flight which lands at 9:15am, and from landing to Pop to MK it usually takes about 3hrs. Even if your flight is on time, you could easily sit in a DME bus waiting for it to leave for 30mins, plus time deplaning and getting over to the buses. The bus drive to WDW takes about 30mins, then you'll stop at several drop-off resorts. Then you have to check in at Pop, wait for the MK bus and get over there, then walk around to Contemp.

You MIGHT make it, but if you don't then you'll get the $10pp charge, so its risky.

Rent a car at the airport and drive straight to Contemporary you might still be cutting it close.

There is no way you can land, get on DME, get to PoP, check in, get another bus to MK, walk to CM all in 2 hours. Just cant happen. Sorry

It will be tight. If you are running late, you can call them...perhaps, if it's not too late, they will hold your table?? Here's a little pixie dust...pixiedust:

If your flight lands, onetime, at 5, you won't be off the plane until around 5:15ish, at the earliest. Figure on an average of 75 mins from gate to resort. So, now it's about 6:30. It could be a little earlier, but could also be a bit later....better chance of it being later. Check-in takes about 15 mins. Now it's 6:45. The ride to MK takes about 15-20 mins. Then 0 min walk over to CR. nope, not going to make it unless you get incredibly lucky. You 'might' take only 60 mins from gate to resort, but even then you'll be a bit late getting to Chef Mickeys.
You could take a car service right to the CR, but you'll still have your carry on bags with you and they aren't allowed on Disney buses, so you would have to cab it back to Pop.

Any chance you would be able to get a town car just one way? It would be cutting it close any other way....

....another option could be town car from pop to contemporary. My husband and I have breakfast reservations at Boma and we are staying at Bay Lake. I do not want to spend the better part of my morning travelling on buses, etc. so we booked through Mears. $17.00 total.

In the end, it probably doesn't matter whether the OP uses a towncar/shuttle/taxi or DME. It's pretty tough to make it to the ADR. If you use a towncar, you have to factor in time to get your luggage. You still need to check-in and drop it off at your room and then get to the CR. I suppose you could take the luggage with you to Chef Mickey, but that might be pretty tough to find a place to put it (maybe drop it with Bell Services?). The OP probably has a better chance if using a private transportation method, but still, there won't be much slack time.

I agree that the only way you have a chance of making it to CM is to arrange a private car service or rent a car (one person gets the car, the other gets the luggage at the carousel to save time) and go directly to the CR. If you have a car service, you'll have to leave your luggage with bell services at the CR and then take a taxi to Pop afterwards because you cannot take luggage on the Disney buses. Also, this won't work if you have the dining plan and need to check in at Pop first to activate the dining plan.

CM has the $10 per person cc guarantee so I would keep checking online for a later reservation or a different day. Someone upthread suggested call CM if you are running late, but there's no way to call the restaurant. You'll reach the dining reservation line and they won't be able to help you at that time.

It is very doubtful you will make it.:worried: I would never book an ADR for less than 3 hours after scheduled landing time at MCO. And even that doesn't leave much room for anything to go wrong. In addition if you are late to your ADR and they can't seat you, you will still have to pay the $10 per person no show fee.

I think you should try to push back your ADR if at all possible. Or even reschedule on a different day. There is almost no chance you will make it. sorry!:(

    1) My guess is, "NO WAY".
    2) Travel time is a killer.
. . . a) you have to get to POP
    . . . b) you have to get a bus to MK
. . . c) you have to boat or monorail to Poly
    3) B & C could take one hour, and you still need to get to POP with DME.
