California Grill for non-disney trip/ and dinner shows

I'm doing a Universal/Sea world vacation with my family (kids 8 and 11).

1) Is it possible and/or worthwhile to get reservations for California Grill to have dinner and see the fireworks?

2) We are also thinking of a dinner show. The Pirate or Sleuth?
