I put in a discount code from Mousesavers for a $25 coupon off my weekly rental. When I put in the Budget Customer Discount it comes up with Spirit Top Picks and I can get a Ford Taurus for a total of $194 - that's with taxes, etc. I'm a little leary because all the other rentals are close to $350. Does anyone know that this Spirit Top Picks is? I don't want to plan on something and then find out when I get there that I can't use it. I'm a newbie compared to some of you seasoned travelers so I appreciate any help you can offer.

I had $357 for two full weeks. I just switched to Hertz Simply Wheelz (but it does require a shuttle) and now I'm paying $247 for two weeks. You might want to give them a try if you don't mind going off the airport. I'm Jan 27 - Feb 10.

DMRick do you have children with you? Just wondering if I should chnace the shuttle thing with my little ones? Is it doable! I am all for saving some bucks! It just is a bit harder getting around with a 3 and 6 year old! Could I possibly have hubby go and get the car via shuttle then pick us up? How long do you think that would take! Just thiniing about the cost/time savings! :)

We've done it with grands and strollers, and luggage. I don't find it any worse than dragging all the stuff across the street to the garage. The shuttle guy is either there or is there within 15 minutes, loads all our luggage in the back and takes it off. I usually sit with the luggage just outside the rental builiding, until we get our car. But yes, you can have hubby go and have him come back to pick you up. I will still watch for last minute deals for inside the airport, just because it's quicker.
