BOG: Vindication for those of us against table-saving!

I have read countless post on the Dis where posters use the argument that they have kids and it is too hard to stand in line with them so it is only natural that they take a table before they ever get their food. Search a little you will see it all for yourself.

oh well, i agree with that. anyone who needs a table should take one. that's why they are there. it has nothing to do with special entitlement. disney has provided tables for guest use. guests should use them.

Did anyone in this post say that? Not another post, but this one. If so, call that person out on it. Don't lump all of us saying this isn't a big deal into that category.

I cannot imagine why something so minor is worth such a fuss. Waiting is a way of life at a theme park, be it for a ride or a table.

Which is why I used the word SOME!:scared:

I don't see the point in bringing other posts into this one. If no one in this post said that, why even bring it up?

And no, in your post, you didn't use the word "some." :) You used "countless," which is very different.

Umm yes I did

You laugh but our decision to have 2 children had something to do with Disney. We love to go on vacation and take trips throughout the year Disney being one of them and we knew having more than 2 kids would put a burden on that financially not just with having one extra child to pay for on vacation but all the other things throughout the year.

What I don’t understand is why some families think they are entitled to so much more while at Disney. I just don’t get that whole notion that just because you have kids you are more entitled to a table at CS restaurant or a hard to get reservation at a Character meal then those that are not traveling with kids.

Disney seems to understand when the CS places are too busy to save tables. We were there last June and they were not allowing table saving for either Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill's. They had a system in place to manage traffic. People had to wait in a queue for a few minutes before they got a table, but it was only a few minutes. A cast member then escorted you to your table.

I can sympathize with the small children and trying to balance a tray with drinks on them and not actually trip over your own children (or other people's) while trying to find a table. We have table saved in that scenario. And I feel no guilt about it. We needed to make sure we had a place to go before we got food because facing the restaurant with both adults holding trays and 3 small children under foot was just too much. But we tend to go off-peak, so there are usually plenty of places to sit. This past June was the first time I have seen the cast members prevent table-saving and do a system where they find a table for you. It worked. If they decide the park is too crowded and prevent table-saving, I am fine with that, too, as long as they are managing the chaos.

ETA: I think BOG has the best plan yet and I think we would eat at CS a lot more with small kids if they brought the food to you. It sounds heavenly.

I thought the system at cosmic rays worked great!

I will from now on and if i see a mom with 3 or 4 kids looking for a table I wil not care!

I think that if you have so many children you can't take care of all their needs in-line between two adults, better family planning should have started long before any trip to WDW. *ducking*

I agree! If you can't handle it stay home!

why are they unable to sit:confused3 most likely someone else will be getting up from a table mometarily. I swear even when I hunt down a table beforehand, I have never looked for that long. And we have been at busy times as well.

Isnt ir the same practice done at your local food court at the mall:confused3 it is pretty much the same concept esp at Christmas time.

I will remember you, and take your advice, when i see a mom with 3 or 4 kids balancing a tray looking for a table. One should open soon!

Not to beat a dead horse, but please show me where "some" was used in your comment.

My point is that you are blowing the current thread out of proportion. I have not seem anyone suggesting close to that, but you are writing as though they are because you've seen it on "countless" other posts.

yup exactly. she won't have any trouble finding a table. and, in very crowded times, disney will put their crowd flow policies in place to take care of the problem.

Oh for the love of God just drop it!!

ok perfect. i'm not sure if you are trying to make some kind of point here...but, that sounds exactly right to me.

No point really. I could really care less one way or the other.

Wow. Quite a reaction. Lol.

When you try to imply people are saying things they are not, expect them to be a bit bothered by having you out words in their mouths.

I'm sorry but why should I have to give up my table to a mother with kids? Since I'm childless I don't deserve a table or I should wait longer? How fair is that exactly?

You shouldn't have to. It is not fair.

How is coming to a conclusion based on information gathered from several threads on the same topic blowing things out of proportion? I am not sure how or why my comment would be so offensive that you would get your panties in such a wad over it? I had no idea that we were not allowed to post our personal views or opinions on here. You are the only one implying things on here and I am pretty sure your the only one botherd by this since you keep going back to your same sad argument.

So true! I don't feel the same about Disney after joining this board. I was hoping to get advice and help with some questions and alot of these threads turn into stupidity. It really does take the magic away.

This is it and then I'm done with this rather silly thread.

You are again blowing everything out of proportion. I have included smilies and lol's in my replies to indicate (which you apparently don't get) that I'm not all that fussed. If by simply continuing my responses to you, you take that as indication of my "panties being in a wad," then yours are as well by your continued responses to me. A discussion board is just that- discussion. I was replying to your exaggerated claims that people are asking special favors regarding seating if they have kids. Simply seeing it on another thread has nothing at all to do with posters on this one.

I have not implied anything- I responded with statements not bringing other posts into the existing convo. I'm not sure why you I'm so bothered when you keep responding also- doesn't that mean you are bothered?

I don't save seats. I said that far earlier. But I think the whole saving thing is not a big deal at all. There are far bigger issues that bunch up my panties. This, and you, are not among those. :)
