We have a trip in a few weeks and one of my guests is looking at the Waterparks. She is only planning for 1 day at the water park.....so which one would you choose? :confused3 I've never been to the water parks (I know, crazy right?) so I am not much help to her.

Would love your feedback! Thanks in advance!

I like blizzard beach better. The layout is easier to follow, and most of the rides have automated belts that return th tubes and mats to the top of the rides, which means less carrying for you.

I've always preferred Typhoon Lagoon. I'm no waterpark expert but I have never seen a wave pool which approaches the scale of TL. And Crush 'N Gusher is a unique attraction that you probably have not experienced elsewhere. TL also has the shark snorkeling pool.

The slides and raft rides at BB may be better to some, but I always found the ones at TL to be completely adequate.

The theming at Blizzard Beach is a little more exotic but the bright white "snow" tends to give me a headache after a couple of hours.

That's a good point to pass on, though she might not mind since her husband will have to do the carrying - she's more of a spectator!:rotfl: when it comes to the water parks.

Thanks TJ! That's also good info to pass on! I still haven't done any of the water parks, I'm more of a lay by the pool with a book and cocktail kinda girl! I might check it out with them though since my AP evidently has the water park option!

Blizzard Beach is much bigger and it has more slides and one huge one, but Typhoon Lagoon has the wave pool.
Personally I prefer the tropical theme of Typhoon Lagoon, that's what I go to Florida for, I see plenty of winter here in the NE.

Hi ya! DS and I prefer Typhoon Lagoon. Love the wave pool and it just feels so much more summery.

The DD's and DH prefer Blizzard Beach because they have to be the opposite of me. :rotfl: Theynhave no good reason other than: because. I'm not a huge fan of the summer meets winter theme. I see enough snow in Utah.

I think the wave pool in TL has stronger waves. It knocks me down!:faint:

If she's never been to either, I recommend starting with Typhoon Lagoon. Both parks have Disney "magic" and are far better than non-Disney water parks. We took our family to TL first for a few years before "graduating" to BB. If they are thrill seekers, though, BB would be a better place to start.

We love water parks and our family prefers Typhoon Lagoon to Blizzard Beach although that may change as our girls get older and are more interested in the bigger rides. The last time we were there our oldest was 10.

I definitely prefer the tropical theme of Typhoon Lagoon. It has a more laid back feel to it. I agree with the PP who said that the brightness of BB gives her a bit of a headache after a while. I also think the snorkeling attraction at TL is really cool and have enjoyed doing that with my girls.

My family and I prefer TL. We love the wave pool and especially the lazy river. I love the fact that Disney photographers, in waders, will take pictures of your family as you float by. Also, they will take your picture in the wave pool...just as the wave hits you. Those are some of my favorite pictures!

This is awesome feedback! Thanks so much! It appears that TL is the best to start. I'll have to let her know about the wave pool Bobbi, just in case pirate:

I have to say I really wasn't interested before in going to the water parks, but after all of your comments, I may just go with them and check it out!!

    Thanks!

We go to the waterparks every summer, TL more than BB. When we end up at BB, on the odd year, we always say that we prefer TL, why are we here! That goes for my brood of teenagers as well.

    TL-Pro's
The wave pool, you can surf these waves at the 10' deep mark. There's a wide expanse of water, uncluttered by the fact that they do not allow tubes of any kind.

The lazy river is much better, a bit deeper than and less crowed than BB.

Places to sit and seats close to the pool, there are more at TL, though not much in the shade shade to dip in, if you like! Fantastic way tos tart the morning or even better afternoon snack!

We bring in a cooler with waters, fruit etc. andmake a day of it! We love the waterparks, rejuvinates in between the theme park days, summer is brutal!

The Shark Tank/Reef, you can snorkle the lenght of it, pretty cool!

    BB Pro's
If you're in for the thrill slides this is the park for you. Summet Plummet, etc. unfortunately is not for me. Sliding down something that pushes your bathing suit to parts unknown is not my idea of fun!

The family raft ride is better, faster and longer than at TL.

There's more shade at BB but it's spread out more!

BB has a better/larger toddler/little kid area to play in!

    The only Con:
This goes for anyone we've ever taken to either park, we dislike the wave pool at BB. By 11am, it's jammed packed with tons of tubes with little kids & people that can't swim, they are in the 5+ foot deep part of the pool, attached to other people clingling on. It's not safe and it's unpleasantly overcrowded, much prefer TL's wave pool!

Not to be missed at either resorts:
Warm baby donuts, tossed in sugar if you like, served with icing sugar, chocolate sauce and/or rasberry sauce!

Yes they are! Little ones that don't bite. The water in there has to be 60 degrees, but the reef, coral etc. is stunning!

Awesome!!!!! That is soo cool! Of course, I may not tell her that part, she doesn't go into the ocean past her ankles because of the "sharks" - but if I do decide to go with them, I'm totally in for that! Disney does it again, just amazing and as many have said before me, nobody does it better!

    Thanks again!:cheer2:

For a more relaxing environment, TL.
    For thrill, BB.
