Biggest prize you have won?

I just won a trip to disney !! This past Feb. I was the TRiple A grand prize winner and won 6 nights hotel, 7 day PH tix and disney dining plan for my family. We take our trip this August! :) Prior to that I never won anything nor really ever tried. Since winning I enter every contesT!

In 2002 I won an all expense paid trip to Discovery Cove in Orlando.

DH, DS3 and I- plus my Dsister19 as our 'nanny' because I was 8 months pregnant!!! Airfare for 4, plus 4 nights, rental car, tickets to Discovery Cove and SeaWorld, both of which were fantastic, and I believe some food vouchers? Or possibly a few hundred in food $ instead of vouchers...?

Unbeknownst to be I had entered a contest for that prize when I sent in one of those magazine postcards requesting more info on travel destinations just so I could DREAM of seeing something someday...when the lady called to award me the prize I hung up on her thinking it was a telemarketer! She called back begging me not to hang up and that I had REALLY won something. I kept asking for the catch! lol

We had a ball on that trip- we were just starting out in life with a crudy duplex, crudy car, toddler, baby on the way and nooooo money whatsoever! It was an amazing thing to win that long weekend.

A trip to San Francisco. Airfare, rental car and hotel. We also appeared on a radio show while there. It was called The Dolans and we taped at hotwire.com's office

DH won $1000 at a local car dealership (now out of business).
I'd sent him there to test drive a car because they were having a promotion that if you did the test drive and brought in the certificate, you'd get a $50 gas card.

So he drove the car and while waiting for the salesman to validate the certificate, he filled out the form for the weekly drawing. He received a phone call a couple of weeks later and told me about it. I was skeptical- I told him that it was probably for $1000 off of a vehicle purchase. He went to the dealership to find out the bottom line and came home with a $1000 check. Then he was entered to win a car- but you had to be present to win (we had a WDW trip planned) and then the local radio station was handing out chances to win the car like crazy about two days before the drawing.

We were happy with the check (he gave it to me)- and went to Disney!

On our 1st DCL cruise my husband and I sat in on a DVC sales meeting and won 300.00 in a drawing. Bought a few "Drinks of the Day"!!

I am the biggest loser you'll ever meet :rotfl2: I can honestly say, I've never won anything! ever!

Won a Volkswagen in the 1980's, which was great because I was driving an unreliable 1956 Chevy with no safety features and a baby on the way. I had to pay $1400 in taxes on it but it was amazing to have a car that didn't have the window fall down inside the door evey time you tried to open it!

I give money out of each paycheck to the local United Way, because of this I got entered into a drawing for one of several prizes, I actually won a new HP Probook about 4 months ago :goodvibes:goodvibes only thing Ive ever won I was on cloud nine for like two weeks!

When I was 9, I won an American Girl Doll. I already had that doll, though, so I sold her to my great-grandmother to give as a present to my cousin. I got $100, and I think I turned around and spent it on some version of a gameboy.

I won $500 on our honeymood cruise playing BINGO, it was the grand prize on the last night of the cruise, it was a $1500 pot on a cover all, but it was a three way tie. I was still over the moon, it was in 1995 and $500 was a ton of money for us.

I won a $500 pre-paid Visa gift card from an online instant win game in 2004.

In 2002, my husband earned an incentive from a manufacturer his company deals with for selling a certain amount of their materials. The prize was a Disney cruise for two. We had two daughters, 4 and 6. The cost for adding them on to the 3 day cruise was $2,000!!! We just did not have the extra money, but couldn't imagine going on a Disney cruise without our girls. I was beside myself. Then a little magic happened. About 2 weeks later, I won a local radio station contest. The prize? $2,000!!! When the deejay asked me what I planned to do with the money, I definitely knew..:goodvibes

Biggest Casino Win: $4500 slot
A few $1000 wins on slots & in drawings.

Biggest sweeps win: ESPN the Weekend contest - 2 weeks notice. 5d/5n at Disney plus $1500 in Dicks Gift Cards. It was a bit hairy getting scheduled. The fulfillment company tried to pull one over on Disney by booking us at a cheaper hotel off-site & only giving us 3 nites instead of the 5 the sweeps promoted. We had 2 weeks notice to begin with (only) & I didn't care - we couldn't go the first night anyway & I had planned on doing the 4th night out of pocket. However, a couple of days later when Disney tried to start giving people their times to go to the live ESPN taping at Boardwalk, people were telling them they couldn't go because they weren't coming until Thurs or Wed nite. Disney evidently started investigating & pretty soon I had the head of Global Marketing from Disney Destinations calling & offering to rebook all our flights. We couldn't as I had to book DDs separately & I would have been out another $700 (last minute flights!) as she was under 18 so they wouldn't pay for her flight (evidently the players they have at the ESPN events don't always behave like they should so winners & guests had to be over 18). SHE SWITCHED EVERYONES HOTELS TO THE BEACH CLUB - we were supposed to be on Dis property but not sure if we were supposed to be at a Deluxe LOL. I have a feeling Disney didn't use that fulfillment company again, LOL. Either way, when we arrived we had 4 full 5 day tickets (even tho they only paid 3 flights) so DD had a ticket too for the parks. DS proposed to his wife on that trip in the rose garden at MK.

$600 Bike GPS (sold on eBay - I was trying for the burrito GC's for my son LOL)

$200 Pamida Gift Card

4 RT Flights, rental car, 4 nites at Gaylord Palms & 1 meal (I had upgraded our unused days at check-out to non-expiring on the above trip so we had park tickets!!!)

$200 Hockey Calendar (still waiting for check).

As a note to those who do win, ALWAYS get your own verification of the actual expenses for the trip. This may include doing a pretend reservation on airlines, hotel, etc & print this for proof of what it actually would cost if you were paying out of pocket. The gov't will allow you to claim the actual value. We did this for both trips (Disney never sent a 1099 so not sure what they would have claimed - but imine was less than the $7000 they gave as the ARV in the sweeps info). With visitflorida for the 2nd trip I e-mailed them a copy & requested an adjusted 1099 - they replaced it at my estimates.

Two Christmasses ago I was visiting my family in STL, and I thought I wanted to go buy a scratcher ticket (I like them, but it's not something I always do). I went down the street and they had one of those vending machines, so I looked at the $20 tickets - and I thought "that is just too much money to spend on scratchers..." but I had a good feeling! I knew I'd win if I bought one, either one. I eenie-meenie-miney-mo'd, and finally decided on one of the two - was sure they were both winners.

Took it home, scratched it off, and won $400. I was floored! I went back to the same gas station to verify I really won $400 (and I DID!), and I thought "I really was sure I'd win if I picked the other one, too." So I bought the other one, scratched it off, and won $50! I was so excited!!

So far this year I have won Taylor Swift tickets & Kenny Chesney tickets & $100 from local radio stations. Last year I won $500, $125, & $175 in cash & $200 in gas gift cards from local radio stations. I try all the time. I would love to win a Disney trip (wouldn't we all) so I enter every contest I can pertaining to Disney.

All of my wedding floral - came out to about $5000.

Front row tickets for Britney Spears/O-Town concert...my cousin was a huge O-Town fan and was over the moon when I offered to take her...
