Best way to get up near Stratosphere

I was wondering the best and cheapest way to get up near the Stratosphere from the strip. Also to that street that is all lights up past it.

Las Vegas Regional Transit runs a double-decker bus called "The Deuce" up and down the strip. Goes all the way from Mandalay Bay at the south end of the strip, past all the casinos (including Stratosphere), to downtown where "The Fremont Street Experience" is. The latter is the overhead light show, and is on Fremont Street downtown.

Where are you staying? Depending on where you are staying, the Las Vegas Monorail would probably be the fastest and cheapest way to the Stratosphere. The Monorail has a stop at Sahara. You would want to get off at the Sahara Station. From there, you can just cross the street over to Stratosphere.

This would work great to getting downtown Fremont Street as well. You would do the same as I mentioned above. After you get off at Sahara, you can take a bus to downtown by way of Las Vegas Blvd. There is stop by Fremont Street. This is where the light show is. Then just do the opposite coming back.

Yes Fremont street is where I want to go. I am at work and couldn't remember the name of it.

I am staying at The Venetian

getting the Monorail to Sahara, is not the way to get to Freemont St, as you would still need to get either bus or taxi, as it is quite a walk to Freemont St. we finished up getting taxi to Freemont st, coming home , we got a taxi back to The Signature , cost us i think $21
We got the monorail , which IMHO was not as good as The Deuce bus, as it dropped you off at the back of certain hotels, but still had quite a walk especially if you where not wanting the hotel it stopped at.

That is awesome thanks! Someone had told me about this bus but said it didn't go up to the Stratosphere or Fremont st. So this is very helpful.

If you follow the link from my first post, you should eventually find the route and schedule for The Deuce, here:

Note the Stratosphere about 1/3 of the way down from the top, on the strip. Fremont St is right near the very top, close to the Downtown Transit Center (DTC). The Venetian is about 1/2 way down.

Thanks, I was looking at this last night when I got home from work. I think this is what we will use.

From the Venetian you will probably want to visit some nieghboring hotels so if you walk by or through these you can walk to the stratasphere.

But from there the strip peters ou and gets a little iffy and you will want to take a bus to the interesection with Fremont St.

Keep in mind that Fremont St. Experience starts at Sundown and that is when the street gets lively.

Be warned the Deuce takes a long time depending on traffic.
We took it up and back from the Mirage to Freemont St.It wasn't too bad going up, but coming back due to the traffice on the Strip it seemed to take forever. Of course now that we have seen Freemont St. we don't need to go back.I hope you won't be as disappointed as I was but the canopy they have along the street for the show just made it all seem like an outdoor mall(altho one with Casinos:thumbsup2)
